A Dosztojevszkij-szakirodalomban viszonylag kevés figyelmet kapott az a kérdés, hogy milyen szerepet játszik az író műveiben a nevelés, a civilizációnak ez az egyedi eszköze, mely lehetővé teszi számunkra a „belső ember” fejlesztését, az erkölcsi kiteljesedés alapfeltételét. A tanulmány négy témakörben elemzi a témát: 1. A nevelés témája pozitív értelemben, avagy a fejlődésregény műfajának dosztojevszkiji változatai. 2. A tárgyalás során végigvezetem az olvasót néhány tudományos, tényekkel is alátámasztott felismerésen, egy-egy konkrét, introspektív példán is érzékeltetve azt, hogy miként jelenhet meg a gyakorlat számára, amit a tudomány is bizonyított. A tanulmány végén röviden kitérek arra is, hogyan lehet a tudományosan is igazolt eredményeket a gyakorlat számára értékként felmutatni. Olyan értékekként, amelyek segítenek követendő alapelveket megfogalmaznia gyakorlat támogatására. Arra a kerdesre keressuk a valaszt, hogy hogyan hatott a polgarosodas a magyarorszagi arisztokracia nevelesi-oktatasi szokasaira a dualizmus koraban. Ezert csalad- es iskolatorteneti kutatasokat vegzunk. Jelen irasunkban a Lonyay, a Mednyanszky, a Podmaniczky es a Splenyi csalad arisztokrata agaira fokuszalunk. A negy csalad kozul a Lonyay es a Mednyanszky előszor a XVII., a masik kettő XVIII. szazadban kapta a főnemesi cimet. Számos forrás áll rendelkezésünkre melynek feldolgozása hozzásegít minket, hogy pontosabban megértsük az intézményes kisgyermeknevelés tizenkilencedik és huszadik századi magyarországi tradícióit. Olyan források ezek, melyek információk egész sorát hordozzák – tárgyak, dokumentumok és természetesen a szakmai nyilvánosság fórumaként működő folyóiratokat is ide soroljuk. Jelen elemzés az egyik ilyen forrás, a Család és iskola (Gyermekünk) című folyóirat képi korpuszát teszi vizsgálata tárgyává, hogy áttekintse, miképpen jelenik meg a folyóirat képanyagában az óvoda, az intézményes kisgyermeknevelési környezet. A képi korpusz feldolgozásában a teljességre törekedtünk, feltártuk a folyóirat teljes képi állományát és kigyűjtöttük az óvodával, illetve az iskoláskor előtti életszakasszal kapcsolatos képi anyagot.
