Project </h6> <h2 class="project-detail-splitted-content-title"> Darul Ghufran Mosque </h2> <div class="project-detail-splitted-content-description"> <p><p class="p1">One of the largest mosques in the east, Darul Ghufran Mosque has been an integral part of Tampines’ skyline since its completion in 1990. Having served the religious needs of congregants for the past twenty-five years, the mosque has completed its major upgrading works in 2019.</p> <p class="p1">Upon gathering feedback from the community on the proposed design and facilities, amongst the suggestions that have been implemented are to retain the original mosque colours (beige and blue), providing better access to ablution points, incorporating bicycle lots, and introduction of landscaping and natural light into the mosque. The community is also pleased that the existing mosque minaret is being retained and celebrated.</p> <p class="p1">For space optimisation, three more floors were added to its existing structures – basement, level four and a roof terrace – as well as two new annexes. The mosque today accommodates an increasing number of congregation capacity from 4,000 to 5,500, significantly easing the prayer space crunch in eastern Singapore.</p> <p class="p1">The mosque also improves its facilities such as kindergarten spaces, while congregants can now enjoy more religious classrooms for seminars and activities including a new auditorium/ events hall, a Youth Hub and a
