See <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/22681986824471#add-to-folder">Workspace: Uploading Items</a> to learn more.</li> <li>Institutions who use Canvas LMS can now enable it as an access method in JSTOR Admin. The Canvas LMS integration allows instructors to add a link to JSTOR’s homepage to their course navigation for seamless access to the content your institution subscribes to. When users follow the link, they’ll be automatically logged in to JSTOR without additional login requirements. See <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/25141261184791">Access Management: Canvas LMS Integration</a> to learn more.</li> </ul> <h2 id="July2024">July 2024</h2> <ul> <li>When presenting a folder in Workspace, presentations will now resume from the last item you displayed. See <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/5377264237079">Workspace: Presenting Research</a> to learn more.</li> <li>When presenting an item in full screen, the "Compare" button is now the "More items" button. Select additional items to compare them alongside the current item, or click on an item thumbnail to jump forward or backward in your presentation. This report includes counts for items views and downloads, as well as logins, browsing, advanced searches, saves to Workspace, and full-screen presentation use.</li> </ul> <h2 id="March2024">March 2024</h2> <ul> <li>When <a href="https://www.jstor.org/images">searching for images</a> on JSTOR, you can now filter your search results by contributor and/or collection, including Artstor collections.</li> <li>You can now <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/4410046169751#DownloadImages">download individual images</a> directly from your search results with a single click.</li> <li>When <a href="https://www.jstor.org/images" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">searching for images</a> on JSTOR, you can now sort your results by Creator.</li> <li>Administrators can now request COUNTER usage reports for the Artstor platform via the JSTOR SUSHI endpoint with an optional "platform" parameter. See <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/4758026557847#sorting">Workspace: Viewing and Organizing your Research</a> for more.</li> </ul> <h2 id="January2024">January 2024</h2> <ul> <li>Administrators, your institution's Artstor usage reports are now available in <a href="https://www.jstor.org/admin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">JSTOR Admin</a>. In addition to JSTOR, you now have the option to <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/360008460834">create or schedule COUNTER 5 usage reports</a> for the Artstor platform previously available only through Artstor's reporting tools. We've also added two new custom COUNTER reports for <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/19974700552471">usage of the Artstor open and licensed collections on JSTOR</a> at the collection and item level.</li> <li>You can now download and <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/360007226454">save zoomed image detail views to your Workspace</a>. From your Workspace, you can compare image detail views side by side, export them to reference lists or presentation slides, or download them for offline use.</li> <li>When viewing images and panoramas on JSTOR, the viewing window <span>will now remain at the top of the screen when scrolling the item page.</span> </li> <li>When downloading images on JSTOR, the item's title, creator, and date will now be included in the filename.</li> </ul> <h2 id="December2023">December 2023</h2> <ul> <li>There's a new page layout for <a href="https://www.jstor.org/images" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">images on JSTOR</a>. The new format is more consistent with other content types found on JSTOR, action buttons such as Save and Cite are more mobile-friendly, and metadata is now organized to the left of the image viewer.</li> <li>Primary sources on JSTOR now include panorama and video content with searchable transcripts for spoken word content. If your search results contain panorama or video items, you can filter your results in the Refine Results sidebar under Primary Source Content. Explore <a href="https://www.jstor.org/action/doBasicSearch?Query=cty%3Acontributed_video+OR+cty%3Acontributed_panoramas">video and panorama on JSTOR</a>.</li> </ul> <h2 id="October2023">October 2023</h2> <ul> <li>Primary sources on JSTOR now include audio content with searchable transcripts for spoken word content. If your search results contain audio items, you can filter your results for audio in the Refine Results sidebar under Primary Source Content. Explore <a href="https://www.jstor.org/site/tuskegee/chapel-collection/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Chapel Collection from Tuskegee University</a> to try out the audio experience on JSTOR.</li> </ul> <h2 id="September2023">September 2023</h2> <ul> <li>When <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/360007226454#saving_items">saving or moving an item in your Workspace</a>, you can save a click by using the Save/Move button next to a folder. In addition, if a folder contains image items, you'll see a thumbnail image next to the folder name for quicker identification.</li> </ul> <h2 id="August2023">August 2023</h2> <ul> <li>When <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/360007226454#saving_items">saving or moving an item in your Workspace</a>, you can now search for a folder or see your three most recently-modified folders within the Save/Move menu. In addition, folder names will now be announced to screen readers when selected.</li> <li>In <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/1500000835181">compare mode</a>, you can now save items to your Workspace.</li> <li>In <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/5377264237079">present mode</a>, you can now tab through items in a folder using the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard.</li> <li>In addition to Google, institutions can now choose Microsoft Azure as their single sign-on (SSO) provider for institutional access and personal JSTOR account creation. Admins can set up Microsoft SSO authentication on JSTOR by adding their school’s domain(s) under "Access Methods" in <a href="https://www.jstor.org/admin/access-methods" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JSTOR Admin</a>.</li> </ul> <h2 id="June2023">June 2023</h2> <ul> <li>You can now search for items you've saved to your <a href="https://www.jstor.org/workspace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JSTOR Workspace</a>. For now, you can search names of folders and subfolders, as well as Title(s) and Creator(s) of individual items in your Workspace.</li> </ul> <h2 id="May2023">May 2023</h2> <ul> <li>Based on feedback from our contributors, Custom Fields now display above and before the License/Rights/Rights Notes, Resource Type, File Name, and SSID fields for images and primary source items on JSTOR. This ensures that users see descriptive metadata fields before administrative fields.</li> </ul> <h2 id="April2023">April 2023</h2> <ul> <li>Based on feedback from our contributors, "Item Date" is now "Date" in the metadata displayed for images and primary sources on JSTOR.</li> </ul> <h2 id="March2023">March 2023</h2> <ul> <li>When viewing a journal article, you can now see what other articles, book chapters, or research reports on JSTOR cite that article under "Cited by".</li> <li>You can now <a href="/hc/en-us/articles/4758026557847#copy-shared-folder" target="_self">save a copy of a shared folder</a> to your Workspace, then make changes to your copied folder such as renaming it, saving additional items to it, or sharing it with others at your institution.</li> </ul> <h2 id="January2023">January 2023</h2> <ul> <li>In addition to terms from from Getty's <a href="https://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/ulan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Union List of Artist Names®</a> (ULAN) and <a href="https://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/aat/index.html" target="_self">Art & Architecture Thesaurus®</a> (AAT), when searching on JSTOR, searches for variants of location names from Getty's <a href="https://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/tgn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Thesaurus of Geographic Names®</a> (TGN) will now return relevant results that have been cataloged with the preferred term and vice versa.
