TASK stands for Training in Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge for the Workplace. It is a full-time program that runs four days a week from 8:30 to 2:30 each day from September to late April, in a safe and supportive classroom setting. And, depending on your personal circumstances, funding may be available to cover tuition costs, books and supplies.</p> <p>As a TASK student, you participate in a series of employability workshops, such as Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), FoodSafe, First Aid, and WorldHost. You also learn basic computer skills and get support as you explore career options, prepare your résumé, and rehearse for interviews.</p> <p>In addition, you take part in three community-based work experiences to gain valuable on-the-job experience with employers who recognize your potential.</p> <p>Once you complete the Workplace TASK program, you have the skills and experience necessary to find employment in the community. Or you can pursue further studies at UFV or elsewhere to enhance your qualifications for employment.</p></p> <div class="call-to-action"> <a class="btn btn-success btn-lg call-to-action-btn" onClick="_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'click', 'landing page', 'Workplace-TASK']);" title="Get the details" href="/upgrading/programs/workplace-task/workplace-task-program/" target="_blank">Get the details</a> </div> </div> <div class="row"></div>  <div id="career-outlook" class="col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-lg-6" style="float:right; background-color:#7cb232;"> <h2>Career Outlook for adults with disabilities</h2> <p>The Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society reports that only 52.7% of people with physical disabilities and 26.1% of people with intellectual disabilities were employed in Canada in 2011.
