The cells work by converting fuel such as methanol into hydrogen, which is then reacted with oxygen via a generating cell to produce electricity. A Casio fuel cell for a laptop would be half the weight and last about four times longer than a lithium ion rechargeable battery. This can be increased to 8 times the efficiency using high-energy alcohol fuel. Being refuelable rather than re-chargeable or disposable, fuel cells will also reduce the environmental effects of our increasing reliance on go anywhere electronic devices.<br></p>  <div
