Apart from downloading the .mcs or hex files, we communicate with the devices using TCL as well. We've recently switched from Hirschmann Ethernet Switches to "fortinet fortiswitch rugged 112d-poe" and the session keeps on timing out when we download a bigger file (2MB) using the Fortinet switch. Previously, on the Hirschmann we had a similar problem, and there is a feature called "HiDiscovery" on it and when we disabled it, everything started to work fine and we could multiple files on our devices but on the "fortinet switch" we've not been able to do so. So far, I've done the following to no use.

1. Disable auto-discovery-fortilink from the CLI

2. Turn off LLDP and STP from the Web Based GUI and CLI

3. Noticed that the speed of the ports on the GUI was different on different ports, but matched them to 100M duplex. (Not sure that would've been the issue, but did it anyways)

4. Increased the auto-discovery-fortilink-packet-interval to 300 (MAX)

5. Increased the timeout session of the switch from the GUI to max (I suppose this only keeps the web interface session alive for a longer time)

6. Have literally disabled every other setting but to no use.

It seems like that when we download a smaller file it works okay and in case of larger file it timeouts and breaks the connection for a while then comes back up but if the comms break in our system then it needs to be reset. What we want is a continuous connection between the PC and our devices.

Any help from the experts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Regards

Salman

Google Service Provider: Revolution in the World of Digital Services

Google Service Provider: Revolution in the World of Digital Services

In today's world, where digitalization has become an integral part of our daily lives, the role of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and service providers is becoming increasingly significant. The both interface port4(FortiGate) and e0/0(Router) can ping each other but cannot ping any other port on the FortiGate. I'm trying to connect or ping port1 or Cloud1 from Cisco router.

How to configure or process ?

see below the image.

thank you in advance for your help

SDWAN with LINK AGGREGATION

Hello,

Currently, we are consolidating our 2 Fortinet Standalone to 601-E HA Fortinet Cluster. We have a set-up where our complete traffic goes through the HA pair cluster which has a main Internet connection and we also have two more ISP links for the other 2 firewalls. 601-E HA cluster has two 2 * 10G aggregate links. All zone traffic uses only the LAG link.

Here my question is during consolidation can we use the same LAG link of the 601-E cluster and create two different wan zones and write SD-WAN rules based on our requirement? It would be more if there was some documentation.

#SDWAN

Captive portal exemption not working for groups

Good morning,

Following the upgrade to the

v7.4.2 build2571 (Feature)

i noted i am unable to add groups in the exception from captive portal.
