The former was replaced by bassist/lyricist Bob Daisley during initial sessions on <a href="/wiki/Montserrat" title="Montserrat">Montserrat</a> with producer <a href="/wiki/Jeff_Glixman" title="Jeff Glixman">Jeff Glixman</a>. According to Daisley, Gillen had struggled with the lyrics, and management was not paying him<sup id="cite_ref-6" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-6"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>6<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> or the rest of the band.
