This technology has drawn tremendous research interest. It has been observed that performances of perovskite based solar cells are extremely dependent on the morphology and crystallinity of the perovskite layer. It has also been observed that device lifetime depends on the perovskite morphology; devices with larger perovskite grains degrade slowly than those of the smaller ones. Various methods of perovskite growth have been applied to achieve the most appropriate morphology necessary for high efficient solar cells. The recent progress in morphology optimization by various methods emphasizing on grain sizes, stoichiometry, and ambient compatibility as well as photophysics study in air-processed perovskite solar cells will be discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perovskite%20solar%20cells" title="perovskite solar cells">perovskite solar cells</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology%20optimization" title=" morphology optimization"> morphology optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photophysics%20study" title=" photophysics study"> photophysics study</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=air-processed%20solar%20cells" title=" air-processed solar cells"> air-processed solar cells</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103171/morphology-optimization-and-photophysics-study-in-air-processed-perovskite-solar-cells" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103171.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">164</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1451</span> Preparation of Natural Polymeric Scaffold with Desired Pore Morphology for Stem Cell Differentiation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mojdeh%20Mohseni">Mojdeh Mohseni</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the context of tissue engineering, the effect of microtopography as afforded by scaffold morphology is an important design parameter. Crime, at this turn, can be oversimplified as an action that breaks the rules established in a certain society. This study involves these two subjects through the relationship between elements of urban morphology and density of crime occurrences. We consider that there is a research gap about the influence of urban features on crime occurrences using statistic methods and mapping techniques on Geographic Information Systems. The investigation will comprehend three main phases. The first phase involves examining how theoretical principles associated with urban morphology can be viewed in terms of their influence on crime patterns. The second phase involves the development of tools to be used to model elements of urban morphology, and measure the relationship between these urban morphological elements and patterns of crime. The third phase involves determining the extent to which elements of the urban environment can contribute to crime reduction. Understanding the relationship between urban morphology and crime patterns in a Latin American context will help highlight the influence urban planning has on the crime problems that emerge in these settings, and how effectively urban planning can contribute to reducing crime. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Agent-based%20Modelling" title="Agent-based Modelling">Agent-based Modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Environmental%20Criminology" title=" Environmental Criminology"> Environmental Criminology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Geographic%20Information%20System" title=" Geographic Information System"> Geographic Information System</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Urban%20Morphology" title=" Urban Morphology"> Urban Morphology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124555/mapping-the-relationship-between-elements-of-urban-morphology-density-of-crime" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124555.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">136</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1449</span> Variation in the Morphology of Soft Palate</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hema%20Lattupalli">Hema Lattupalli </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: The palate forms a partition between the oral cavity and nasal cavity. The palate is made up of two parts hard palate and soft palate. The Hard palate forms the anterior part of the palate, the soft palate forms a movable muscular fold covered by mucous membrane that is suspended from the posterior border of a hard palate. Aim and Objectives: Soft palate morphological variations have a great paucity in the literature. It’s also believed that the soft palate has no such important anatomical variations. There is a variable presentation of the soft palate morphology in the lateral cephalograms. The aim of this study is to identify the velar morphology. Materials and Methods: 100 normal subjects between the age group of 20 – 35 were taken for the study. Method: Lateral Cephalogram (radiologic study). Results: Different shapes of the soft palate were observed in the lateral cephalograms. The morphology of soft palate was classified into six types 1.Leaf like (50 cases) most common type, 2.Straight line (20 cases), 3.S shaped (4 cases) very rare, 4.Butt like (10 cases), 5. Rat tail (6 cases), 6. Hook shaped (10 cases). Conclusion: This classification helps us to understand the better diversity of the velar morphology in mid-sagittal plane. These findings help us to understand the etiology of OSAS. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soft%20palate" title="soft palate">soft palate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cephalometric%20radiographs" title=" cephalometric radiographs"> cephalometric radiographs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cleft%20palate" title=" cleft palate"> cleft palate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=obstructive%20sleep%20apnoea%20syndrome" title=" obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome"> obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40979/variation-in-the-morphology-of-soft-palate" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40979.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">363</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1448</span> An Introduction to Giulia Annalinda Neglia Viewpoint on Morphology of the Islamic City Using Written Content Analysis Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Saber%20Eslamlou">Mohammad Saber Eslamlou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Morphology of Islamic cities has been extensively studied by researchers of Islamic cities and different theories could be found about it. In this regard, there exist much difference in method of analysis, classification, recognition, confrontation and comparative method of urban morphology. The present paper aims to examine the previous methods, approaches and insights and that how Dr. Giulia Annalinda Neglia dealt with the analysis of morphology of Islamic cities. Neglia is assistant professor in University of Bari, Italy (UNIBA) who has published numerous papers and books on Islamic cities. I introduce her works in the field of morphology of Islamic cities. And then, her thoughts, insights and research methodologies are presented and analyzed in critical perspective. This is a qualitative research on her written works, which have been classified in three major categories. The first category consists mainly of her works on morphology and physical shape of Islamic cities. The results of her works’ review suggest that she has used Moratoria typology in investigating morphology of Islamic cities. Moreover, overall structure of the cities under investigation is often described linear; however, she’s against to define a single framework for the recognition of morphology in Islamic cities. She states that ‘to understand the physical complexity and irregularities in Islamic cities, it is necessary to study the urban fabric by typology method, focusing on transformation processes of the buildings’ form and their surrounding open spaces’ and she believes that fabric of each region in the city follows from the principles of an specific period or urban pattern, in particular, Hellenistic and Roman structures. Furthermore, she believes that it is impossible to understand the morphology of a city without taking into account the obvious and hidden developments associated with it, because form of building and their surrounding open spaces are written history of the city. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=city" title="city">city</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Islamic%20city" title=" Islamic city"> Islamic city</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Giulia%20Annalinda%20Neglia" title=" Giulia Annalinda Neglia"> Giulia Annalinda Neglia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152425/an-introduction-to-giulia-annalinda-neglia-viewpoint-on-morphology-of-the-islamic-city-using-written-content-analysis-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152425.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">97</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1447</span> Study the Effect of Rubbery Phase on Morphology Development of PP/PA6/(EPDM:EPDM-g-MA) Ternary Blends</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=B.%20Afsari">B. Varying ratios of EPDM to EPDM-g-MA were examined. As the proportion of EPDM-g-MA increased, an interlayer phase formed between the dispersed PA6 domains and the PP matrix. This resulted in the development of a core-shell encapsulation morphology within the blends. The concentration of the EPDM-g-MA component is inversely correlated with the average size of PA6 particles. Additionally, blends containing higher proportions of the EPDM-g-MA rubbery phase exhibited an aggregated structure of the modifier particles. Notably, as the concentration of EPDM-g-MA increased from 0% to 15% in the blend, there was a consistent monotonic reduction in the size of PA6 particles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phase%20morphology" title="phase morphology">phase morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rubbery%20phase" title=" rubbery phase"> rubbery phase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rubber%20functionality" title=" rubber functionality"> rubber functionality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ternary%20blends" title=" ternary blends"> ternary blends</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182166/study-the-effect-of-rubbery-phase-on-morphology-development-of-pppa6epdmepdm-g-ma-ternary-blends" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/182166.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">88</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1446</span> A Calibration Method for Temperature Distribution Measurement of Thermochromic Liquid Crystal Based on Mathematical Morphology of Hue Image</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Risti%20Suryantari">Risti Suryantari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Flaviana"> Flaviana</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of this research is to design calibration method of Thermochromic Liquid Crystal for temperature distribution measurement based on mathematical morphology of hue image A glass of water is placed on the surface of sample TLC R25C5W at certain temperature. The effect of calcination temperature on the morphology, structure and catalytic performance on material in question is investigated by using characterization tools like scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. The SEM images reveal that the morphology of the Co3O4 material undergoes a change from the rod to a beadlike shape on calcination at temperature of 700 °C. The XRD image shows that although the morphology of synthesized Co3O4 material exhibits a cubic phase but it differs in crystallinity depending upon morphology. Similarly spherical beadlike Co3O4 material has exhibited better activity than its rodlike counterpart which is reflected from electrochemical findings. A previous work on morphology is continued where the 'initial' profile is the NACA 4415 and as a new profile 'objective' the FUSION. The objective of this work is the dimensioning of the elements of the mechanism used to achieve the required changes. We consulted the different materials used in the aeronautics industry, as well as new materials in this area that could contribute to the good performance of the mechanism without negatively affecting the aerodynamics. These results allow evaluating the performance of a wing with variable extrados with respect to the defined morphology. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical%20analysis" title="numerical analysis">numerical analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanisms" title=" mechanisms"> mechanisms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphing%20airfoil" title=" morphing airfoil"> morphing airfoil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphing%20wings" title=" morphing wings"> morphing wings</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77600/numerical-analysis-of-a-mechanism-for-the-morphology-in-the-extrados-of-an-airfoil" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77600.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">235</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1441</span> Contrast Enhancement of Masses in Mammograms Using Multiscale Morphology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amit%20Kamra">Amit Kamra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V.%20K.%20Jain"> V. There are various other techniques for breast cancer screening but mammography is the most reliable and effective technique. The images obtained through mammography are of low contrast which causes problem for the radiologists to interpret. Hence, a high quality image is mandatory for the processing of the image for extracting any kind of information from it. Many contrast enhancement algorithms have been developed over the years. In the present work, an efficient morphology based technique is proposed for contrast enhancement of masses in mammographic images. The proposed method is based on Multiscale Morphology and it takes into consideration the scale of the structuring element. The proposed method is compared with other state-of-the-art techniques. In this paper, an experimental investigation was conducted to determine the effects of various cutting speeds and feed rates on surface roughness and chip morphology in turning the Al-Si cast alloy and Sr-containing. Experimental trials carried out using coated carbide inserts. Experiments accomplished under oblique dry cutting when various cutting speeds 70, 130 and 250 m/min and feed rates of 0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 mm/rev were used, whereas depth of cut kept constant at 0.05 mm. The results showed that Sr-containing Al-Si alloy have poor surface roughness in comparison to Al-Si alloy (base alloy). The surface roughness values reduce with cutting speed increment from 70 to 250 m/min. the size of chip changed with changing silicon shape in Al matrix. Also, the surface finish deteriorated with increase in feed rate from 0.5 mm/rev to 0.15 mm/rev. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=strontium" title="strontium">strontium</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surface%20roughness" title=" surface roughness"> surface roughness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chip" title=" chip"> chip</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=turning" title=" turning"> turning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36933/effect-of-strontium-on-surface-roughness-and-chip-morphology-when-turning-al-si-cast-alloy-using-carbide-tool-insert" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36933.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">386</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1439</span> Facility Detection from Image Using Mathematical Morphology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In-Geun%20Lim">In-Geun Lim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sung-Woong%20Ra"> Sung-Woong Ra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> As high resolution satellite images can be used, lots of studies are carried out for exploiting these images in various fields. Mathematical morphology process can apply in binary image, so this method is very simple. Therefore this method can easily extract the ‘horse's hoof shaped object’ from any images which have indistinct edges of the tracking object and have different image qualities depending on filming location, filming time, and filming environment. Currently, in developing countries, a lot of hematology is done manually, either by physicians or laboratory staff. In addition, the hematology test by manual will further complicate the diagnosis in some areas that do not have competent medical personnel. This research aims to develop a simple tool in the detection of blood cell morphology-based computer. In this paper, we focus on the detection of the outer contour of leukocytes. Study is carried out on the effect of pin, shoulder and eccentricity of the tool on the surface topography of the joint and the formation of the joint surface topography is analyzed. It is found that, eccentric squeezing action of the tool is the mainly motive power to form arc lines contour and flash structure. Little flash appears in the advancing side but with severe deformation, while the flash in the retreating side is heavy but with soft deformation. The pin of tool has a deep impact on the flash on the advancing side of the joints. Shoulder can widen the arc lines, refine arcs structure, reduce flash in the retreat side, but will increase the flash in the advancing side. Increasing the amount of eccentricity, it has litter effect on the arc line spacing but will destroy the arc lines morphology in the joint surface and promote the formation of filamentous flash structure in the joint. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FSJ" title="FSJ">FSJ</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surface%20morphology" title=" surface morphology"> surface morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tool" title=" tool"> tool</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=joint" title=" joint "> joint </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29621/the-effect-of-tool-type-on-surface-morphology-of-fsj-joint" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29621.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">363</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1434</span> A Cellular Automaton Model Examining the Effects of Oxygen, Hydrogen Ions, and Lactate on Early Tumour Growth</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maymona%20Al-Husari">Maymona Al-Husari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Craig%20Murdoch"> Craig Murdoch</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Steven%20Webb"> Steven Webb </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Some tumors are known to exhibit an extracellular pH that is more acidic than the intracellular, creating a 'reversed pH gradient' across the cell membrane and this has been shown to affect their invasive and metastatic potential. Tumour hypoxia also plays an important role in tumour development and has been directly linked to both tumour morphology and aggressiveness. In this paper, we present a hybrid mathematical model of intracellular pH regulation that examines the effect of oxygen and pH on tumour growth and morphology. In particular, we investigate the impact of pH regulatory mechanisms on the cellular pH gradient and tumour morphology. Analysis of the model shows that: low activity of the Na+/H+ exchanger or a high rate of anaerobic glycolysis can give rise to a 'fingering' tumour morphology; and a high activity of the lactate/H+ symporter can result in a reversed transmembrane pH gradient across a large portion of the tumour mass. Also, the reversed pH gradient is spatially heterogenous within the tumour, with a normal pH gradient observed within an intermediate growth layer, that is the layer between the proliferative inner and outermost layer of the tumour. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acidic%20pH" title="acidic pH">acidic pH</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cellular%20automaton" title=" cellular automaton"> cellular automaton</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ebola" title=" ebola"> ebola</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tumour%20growth" title=" tumour growth"> tumour growth</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41359/a-cellular-automaton-model-examining-the-effects-of-oxygen-hydrogen-ions-and-lactate-on-early-tumour-growth" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41359.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">331</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1433</span> Effects of Phase and Morphology on the Electrochemical and Electrochromic Performances of Tungsten Oxide and Tungsten-Molybdenum Oxide Nanostructures</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jinjoo%20Jung">Jinjoo Jung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hayeon%20Won"> Hayeon Won</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Doyeong%20Jeong"> Doyeong Jeong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Do%20Hyung%20Kim"> Do Hyung Kim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We present the electrochemical and electrochromic performance of the novel crystalline tungsten oxide and tungsten-molybdenum oxide nanostructures synthesized by utilizing solvo-thermal method with hexacarbonyl tungsten, hexacarbonyl molybdenum, and ethyl alcohol. The morphology and phase of the prepared products were highly dependent on the synthesis conditions such as synthesis and annealing temperature, synthesis time, and precursor ratio. The tungsten oxide nanostructures (TCNs) have urchin-like or spherical nanostructure with different phase of W18O49 and WO3. The morphology of tungsten-molybdenum oxide nanostructures (TMONs) is basically similar to that of TCNs. However, the morphology and phase of TMONs are more diverse and are strongly dependent on the composition ratios of W/Mo in the precursor. The electrochemical properties depending on their morphologies and phases of TCNs and TMONs are compared using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge tests. The relationship between the electrochromic performance and phase structures/morphologies of nanostructured TCNs and TMONs are systematically investigated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrochemical" title="electrochemical">electrochemical</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrochromic" title=" electrochromic"> electrochromic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tungsten%20oxide" title=" tungsten oxide"> tungsten oxide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tungsten-molybdenum%20oxide" title=" tungsten-molybdenum oxide"> tungsten-molybdenum oxide</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21623/effects-of-phase-and-morphology-on-the-electrochemical-and-electrochromic-performances-of-tungsten-oxide-and-tungsten-molybdenum-oxide-nanostructures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21623.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">590</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1432</span> The Influence of Coarse Aggregate Morphology on Concrete Workability: A Case Study with Algerian Crushed Limestone</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Boufedah%20Badissi">Ahmed Boufedah Badissi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Beroual"> Ahmed Beroual</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farid%20Boursas"> Farid Boursas</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This research aims to elucidate the role of coarse aggregate in influencing the fresh properties of normal-strength concrete. Specifically, it is aimed to identify the optimal gradation of coarse aggregate to enhance workability. While existing literature discusses the impact of aggregate granularity on concrete workability, more numerical data or models need to quantify the relationship between workability, granularity, and coarse aggregate shape. The main objective is to create a model that describes how coarse aggregate morphology contributes to fresh concrete properties. To investigate the effect of coarse aggregate gradation on Normal Strength Concrete (NSC) workability, various combinations of coarse aggregates (4/22.4 mm) were produced in the laboratory, utilizing three elementary classes: finer coarse aggregate 4/8 mm (Fca), medium coarse aggregate 8/16 mm (Mca), and coarser coarse aggregate 16/22.4 mm (Cca). We introduced a factor, FCR (Finer to Coarser coarse aggregate Ratio), as a numerical parameter to provide a quantitative evaluation and more detailed results analysis. Quantitative characterization parameters for coarse aggregate morphology were established, exploring the influence of particle size distribution, specific surface, and aggregate shape on workability. The research findings are significant for establishing correlations between coarse aggregate morphology and concrete properties. FCR emerges as a valuable tool for predicting the impact of aggregate gradation variations on concrete. The results of this study create a valuable database for construction professionals and concrete producers, affirming that the fresh properties of NSC are intricately linked to coarse aggregate morphology, particularly gradation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title="morphology">morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coarse%20aggregate" title=" coarse aggregate"> coarse aggregate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=workability" title=" workability"> workability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fresh%20properties" title=" fresh properties"> fresh properties</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gradation" title=" gradation"> gradation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181529/the-influence-of-coarse-aggregate-morphology-on-concrete-workability-a-case-study-with-algerian-crushed-limestone" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181529.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">62</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1431</span> Preparation of Silicon-Based Oxide Hollow Nanofibers Using Single-Nozzle Electrospinning</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juiwen%20Liang">Juiwen Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Choliang%20Chung"> Choliang Chung</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this study, the silicon-base oxide nanofibers with hollow structure were prepared using single-nozzle electrospinning and heat treatment. By changing the composition of the solvent, the shape could be altered. While no product was obtained from methanolic solutions, in ethanol, sheet like lamellar structures prevail.n-propanol and n-butanol resulted in needle like structures. The morphology of ZnO could be thus tailored in a simple way, by varying the solvent, under ultrasonic irradiation, in a relatively less time consuming method. Variation of the morphology and size of Zn also provides a means for modulating the band-gap. Although the chemical effects of ultrasound do not come from direct interaction with molecular species, the high energy derived from acoustic cavitation creates a unique interaction of energy and matter with great potential for synthesis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultrasound" title="ultrasound">ultrasound</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ZnO" title=" ZnO"> ZnO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20alcohols" title=" linear alcohols"> linear alcohols</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94448/keynote-talk-ultrasound-assisted-synthesis-of-zno-of-different-morphologies-by-solvent-variation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94448.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">242</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1429</span> The Effect of Lepidium Meyenii on Viability, Motility, and Sperm Morphology in Treatment of Infertility Among Adult Male Wistar Rats</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arefeh%20Sabzipour">Arefeh Sabzipour</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the present work, the effect of Lepidium meyenii on viability, motility, and sperm morphology in the treatment of infertility of adult male Wistar rats was evaluated. 21 male Wistar rats were adopted, fed and brought up in the same conditions to reach the weight of 230±5 g. after that, they were randomly divided into three groups, including two experimental groups and one control group, each group consisted of 7 rates. The study of dental morphology is important in research as it provides information about diversities within a population. Many studies have shown different shapes and numbers of roots canals among different races, especially in molars. The aim of this study was to determine the morphology of root canals of mandibular first and third molars in a sample of Egyptian population using CBCT scanning. Fifty mandibular first Molars (M1) and fifty mandibular third (M3) extracted molars were collected. Thick rectangular molds were made using pink wax to hold the samples. Molars were embedded in the wax mold by aligning them in rows leaving arbitrary 0.5cm space between them. The molds with the samples in were submitted for CBCT scan. The number and morphology of root canals were assessed and classified according to Vertucci's classification. The mesial and the distal roots were examined separately. Finally, data was analyzed using Fisher exact test. The most prevalent mesial root canal frequency in M1 was type IV (60%) and type II (40 %), while M3 showed prevalence of type I (40%) and II (40%). Distal root canal morphology showed prevalence of type I in both M1 (66%) and M3 (86%). So, it can be concluded that CBCT scanning provides supplemental information about the root canal configurations of mandibular molars in a sample of Egyptian population. This study may help clinicians in the root canal treatment of mandibular molars. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cone%20beam%20computed%20tomography" title="cone beam computed tomography">cone beam computed tomography</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mandibular%20first%20molar" title=" mandibular first molar"> mandibular first molar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mandibular%20third%20molar" title=" mandibular third molar"> mandibular third molar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=root%20canal%20morphology" title=" root canal morphology"> root canal morphology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61096/cone-beam-computed-tomography-a-useful-diagnostic-tool-to-determine-root-canal-morphology-in-a-sample-of-egyptian-population" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61096.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">318</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1425</span> Understanding the Role of Gas Hydrate Morphology on the Producibility of a Hydrate-Bearing Reservoir</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=David%20Lall">David Lall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vikram%20Vishal"> Vikram Vishal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=P.%20G.%20Ranjith"> P. Among the various reservoir properties that influence gas production estimates, the distribution of permeability across the domain is one of the most crucial parameters since it determines both heat transfer and mass transfer. The aspect of permeability in hydrate-bearing reservoirs is particularly complex compared to conventional reservoirs since it depends on the saturation of gas hydrates and hence, is dynamic during production. The dependence of permeability on hydrate saturation is mathematically represented using permeability-reduction models, which are specific to the expected morphology of hydrate accumulations (such as grain-coating or pore-filling hydrates). In this study, we demonstrate the impact of various permeability-reduction models, and consequently, different morphologies of hydrate deposits on the estimates of gas production using depressurization at the reservoir scale. We observe significant differences in produced water volumes and cumulative mass of produced gas between the models, thereby highlighting the uncertainty in production behavior arising from the ambiguity in the prevalent gas hydrate morphology. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20hydrate%20morphology" title="gas hydrate morphology">gas hydrate morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-scale%20modeling" title=" multi-scale modeling"> multi-scale modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=THMC" title=" THMC"> THMC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20flow%20in%20porous%20media" title=" fluid flow in porous media"> fluid flow in porous media</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144558/understanding-the-role-of-gas-hydrate-morphology-on-the-producibility-of-a-hydrate-bearing-reservoir" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144558.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">220</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1424</span> Dissimilar Cu/Al Friction Stir Welding: Sensitivity of the Tool Offset</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tran%20Hung%20Tra">Tran Hung Tra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hao%20Dinh%20Duong"> Hao Dinh Duong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Masakazu%20Okazaki"> Masakazu Okazaki</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Copper 1100 and aluminum 1050 plates with a thickness of 5.0 mm are butt-joint using friction stir welding. The tool offset is linearly varied along the welding path. Two welding regimes, using the same linear tool offset but in opposite directions, are applied for fabricating two Cu/Al plates. The material flow is dominated by both tool offset and offset history. The intermetallic compounds layer and interface morphology in each welded plate are formed in a different manner. As a result, the bonding strength and fracture behavior between two welded plates are significantly distinct. The role of interface morphology on fracture behavior is analyzed by the finite element method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cu%2FAl%20dissimilar%20welding" title="Cu/Al dissimilar welding">Cu/Al dissimilar welding</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=offset%20history" title=" offset history"> offset history</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interface%20morphology" title=" interface morphology"> interface morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intermetallic%20compounds" title=" intermetallic compounds"> intermetallic compounds</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=strength%20and%20fracture" title=" strength and fracture"> strength and fracture</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170912/dissimilar-cual-friction-stir-welding-sensitivity-of-the-tool-offset" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170912.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">76</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1423</span> Morphology Study of Inverted Planar Heterojunction Perovskite Solar Cells in Sequential Deposition</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Asmat%20Nawaz">Asmat Nawaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Koray%20Erdinc"> Ali Koray Erdinc</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Burak%20Gultekin"> Burak Gultekin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Tayyib"> Muhammad Tayyib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ceylan%20Zafer"> Ceylan Zafer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kaiying%20Wang"> Kaiying Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Nadeem%20Akram"> M. A small amount of additive deionized water (DI-H2O) was added into PbI2 + Dimethyl formamide (DMF) precursor solution in order to increase the solubility of PbI2 in DMF, and finally to manipulate the surface morphology of the perovskite films. A morphology transition from needle like structure to hexagonal plates, and then needle-like again has been observed as the DI-H2O was added continuously (0.0 wt% to 3.0wt%). The latter one leads to full surface coverage of the perovskite, which is essential for high performance solar cell. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
