Allegedly, people complain about poor connectivity, unavailability of machines and inefficiency of computer operating skills. This study has employed a mixed-method approach in order to get facts and figures as well as the opinion of people regarding the incumbent issue. The explanatory model of mix method approach in which quantitative data and analysis lead to qualitative data. A closed-ended survey was designed to get facts and figures about perceptions of learners regarding online learning. A Snowball sampling technique, a kind of purposive sampling has been adopted. Quantitative data was collected from seventy undergraduate students through Google survey form and statistical analysis of data was done. Perceptions of teachers were gathered through an interview protocol designed to collect the opinion of teachers. It has been found that online classes are not effective without professional training and the provision of internet connection and gadgets at cheap rates. As a response to minimize the spread,e-learning schemes are employed in many countries including Pakistan. It is playing an important role during this outbreak; however, there are technical, educational, financial, infrastructural, and socioeconomic barriers that exist in the developing countries like Pakistan. These barriers have huge impact on the e-learning process in the country on both students and teachers. Purpose: This study tends to investigate the impact of online classes on students learning process and teachers fulfilling their responsibilities at university level, particularly during the lockdown of the third wave of COVID-19. Methods: For the data collection, a descriptive cross-sectional online and self-administrated survey has been conducted. The study sample has been made from eight different private and public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Results: The results of the study have presented interesting facts which are not common is developed countries. Around 47.5% of teachers have reported their anxiousness about their online class cause of electrical problems and also 30.5% of the Internet connectivity issues. It further explores if the students want online education to continue after Covid-19 or not. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from eight students. The students mostly used Google Classroom and Google Meet. Internet connectivity, electricity, the difficulty in operating different software and platforms, and the lack of socialization were mentioned as some of the biggest challenges during online education; while the opportunity to learn different software and platforms, flexibility, and staying at home were mentioned as some of its benefits. The students had mixed opinions about online classes and the quality of education during Covid-19. As compared to other studies about school students in Pakistan, these students felt more comfortable with online education; however, they did not want purely online education to continue after Covid-19. Despite multiple challenges, online education brings numerous benefits.
