class="vheading">Berean Literal Bible</div><div class="chap"><p class="hdg">Jesus Our Apostle and High Priest</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-1.htm"><b>1</b></a></span>Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of <i>the</i> heavenly calling, carefully consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>being faithful to the <i>One</i> having appointed Him, as Moses also in all His house. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>For He has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by so much as the <i>one</i> having built it has greater honor than the house <i>itself</i>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>For every house is built by someone, but the <i>One</i> having built everything <i>is</i> God. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>And indeed Moses <i>was</i> faithful as a servant in all His house,<span class="fn"><a href="#fna" title="Numbers 12:7">a</a></span> unto a testimony of the things going to be spoken, <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>but Christ as <i>the</i> Son over His house, whose house we are, if indeed we should hold<span class="fn"><a href="#fnb" title="NE, WH, BYZ, and TR include ‘firmly to the end’">b</a></span> <i>our</i> confidence and the boast of <i>our</i> hope. </p><p class="hdg">Do Not Harden Your Hearts</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says:</p><p class="indent1stline">“Today if you should hear His voice, </p><p class="indent2"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>do not harden your hearts,</p><p class="indent1"> as in the rebellion,</p><p class="indent2"> in the day of testing in the wilderness, </p><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>where forty years your fathers tried <i>Me</i> by testing</p><p class="indent2"> and saw My works. </p><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Therefore I was angry with that generation,</p><p class="indent2"> and I said,</p><p class="indent1">‘Always they go astray in their heart;</p><p class="indent2"> and they have not known My ways;’ </p><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>so I swore in My wrath,</p><p class="indent2">‘They shall not enter into My rest.’”<span class="fn"><a href="#fnc" title="Psalm 95:7-11">c</a></span> </p><p class="hdg">The Peril of Unbelief</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Take heed, brothers, lest ever there will be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, into falling away from <i>the</i> living God. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>But encourage one another every day, while it is called today, so that not one of you may be hardened by <i>the</i> deceitfulness of sin. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>For we have become partakers of Christ, if indeed we should hold firm unto <i>the</i> end the assurance from the beginning. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>As it is said:</p><p class="indent1stline">“Today if you should hear His voice,</p><p class="indent2"> do not harden your hearts,</p><p class="indent1"> as in the rebellion.”<span class="fn"><a href="#fnd" title="Psalm 95:7,8">d</a></span> </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>For who <i>were those</i> having heard, rebelled, but not all those having come out of Egypt by the leading of Moses? <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And with whom was He indignant forty years, <i>if</i> not with those having sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And to whom did He swear that they shall not enter into His rest, if not to those having disobeyed? <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/3-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.<A name="fn"><br /><br /></p><A name="fna"></a><span
