The obtained 3-dimensional model allows computing pair radial and orientational distribution functions in order to explore the structural features of the system. Unrealistic features appeared in some coordination peaks. To remedy to this, we use the Hybrid Reverse Monte Carlo (HRMC), incorporating an additional energy constraint in addition to the usual constraints derived from experiments. The energy of the system is calculated using an Environment Dependence Interaction Potential (EDIP). Ions effects is studied by comparing correlations between water molecules in the solution and in pure water at room temperature Our results show a good agreement between experimental and computed partial distribution functions (PDFs) as well as a significant improvement in orientational distribution curves. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=LiCl6H2O" title="LiCl6H2O">LiCl6H2O</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glassy%20state" title=" glassy state"> glassy state</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RMC" title=" RMC"> RMC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HRMC" title=" HRMC"> HRMC</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/38320/orientational-pair-correlation-functions-modelling-of-the-licl6h2o-by-the-hybrid-reverse-monte-carlo-using-an-environment-dependence-interaction-potential" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/38320.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">471</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8872</span> Study of the Phenomenon Nature of Order and Disorder in BaMn(Fe/V)F7 Fluoride Glass by the Hybrid Reverse Monte Carlo Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sidi%20Mohamed%20Mesli">Sidi Mohamed Mesli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Habchi"> Mohamed Habchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Kotbi"> Mohamed Kotbi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafik%20Benallal"> Rafik Benallal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdelali%20Derouiche"> Abdelali Derouiche</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Fluoride glasses with a nominal composition of BaMnMF7 (M = FeV assuming isomorphous replacement) have been structurally modelled through the simultaneous simulation of their neutron diffraction patterns by a reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) model and by a Rietveld for disordered materials (RDM) method. At the same time, description of an effective pair interaction in transition metal is a hard task since the d-electron contribution to the potential energy in this case is non-pairwise in principle. There are a number of models for transition-metal effective pair potentials. Here we use the Wills-Harrison (WH) approach to calculate pair potentials for Fe, Co, and Ni in crystalline, liquid, and nano states. Last is especially interesting since nano particles of pure transition metals immobilized on the dielectric matrices are widely used in different fields of advanced technologies: as carriers and transmitters of information, as an effective catalytic materials, etc. It is found that the minimum of the pair potential is deeper and oscillations are stronger in nano crystalline state in comparison with the liquid and crystalline states for all metals under consideration. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=effective%20pair%20potential" title="effective pair potential">effective pair potential</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanocrystalline%20state" title=" nanocrystalline state"> nanocrystalline state</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transition%20metal" title=" transition metal"> transition metal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wills-Harrison%20approach" title=" Wills-Harrison approach "> Wills-Harrison approach </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14984/pair-interaction-in-transition-metal-nanoparticles" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14984.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">385</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8866</span> An Extension of the Generalized Extreme Value Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Serge%20Provost">Serge Provost</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdous%20Saboor"> Abdous Saboor</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A q-analogue of the generalized extreme value distribution which includes the Gumbel distribution is introduced. It will be shown that it compares favourably to three related distributions in connection with the modeling of a certain hydrological data set. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extreme%20value%20theory" title="extreme value theory">extreme value theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=generalized%20extreme%20value%20distribution" title=" generalized extreme value distribution"> generalized extreme value distribution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=goodness-of-fit%20statistics" title=" goodness-of-fit statistics"> goodness-of-fit statistics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gumbel%20distribution" title=" Gumbel distribution"> Gumbel distribution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72656/an-extension-of-the-generalized-extreme-value-distribution" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72656.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">349</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8865</span> Presenting a Model in the Analysis of Supply Chain Management Components by Using Statistical Distribution Functions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramin%20Rostamkhani">Ramin Rostamkhani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thurasamy%20Ramayah"> Thurasamy Ramayah</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> One of the most important topics of today’s industrial organizations is the challenging issue of supply chain management. In this field, scientists and researchers have published numerous practical articles and models, especially in the last decade. In this research, to our best knowledge, the discussion of data modeling of supply chain management components using well-known statistical distribution functions has been considered. The world of science owns mathematics, and showing the behavior of supply chain data based on the characteristics of statistical distribution functions is innovative research that has not been published anywhere until the moment of doing this research. In an analytical process, describing different aspects of functions including probability density, cumulative distribution, reliability, and failure function can reach the suitable statistical distribution function for each of the components of the supply chain management. It can be applied to predict the behavior data of the relevant component in the future. Providing a model to adapt the best statistical distribution function in the supply chain management components will be a big revolution in the field of the behavior of the supply chain management elements in today's industrial organizations. Demonstrating the final results of the proposed model by introducing the process capability indices before and after implementing it alongside verifying the approach through the relevant assessment as an acceptable verification is a final step. The introduced approach can save the required time and cost to achieve the organizational goals. Moreover, it can increase added value in the organization. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=analyzing" title="analyzing">analyzing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=process%20capability%20indices" title=" process capability indices"> process capability indices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=statistical%20distribution%20functions" title=" statistical distribution functions"> statistical distribution functions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supply%20chain%20management%20components" title=" supply chain management components"> supply chain management components</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155389/presenting-a-model-in-the-analysis-of-supply-chain-management-components-by-using-statistical-distribution-functions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155389.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">87</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8864</span> Hypergeometric Solutions to Linear Nonhomogeneous Fractional Equations with Spherical Bessel Functions of the First Kind</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pablo%20Martin">Pablo Martin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jorge%20Olivares"> Jorge Olivares</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fernando%20Maass"> Fernando Maass</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The use of fractional derivatives to different problems in Engineering and Physics has been increasing in the last decade. One of the important functions of dopamine is release of pituitary hormones. It is synthesized from the amino acid tyrosine. Two types of dopamine receptors, D1-like and D2-like, have been reported in fish. The dopamine containing neurons are located in the olfactory bulbs, the ventral regions of the pre-optic area and tuberal hypothalamus. Distribution of the dopaminergic system has not been studied in the murrel, Channa punctatus. The present study deals with identification of D2 receptors in the brain of murrel. A phylogenetic tree has been constructed using partial sequence of D2 receptor. Distribution of putative dopaminergic neurons in the brain has been investigated. The maximum likelihood method can’t estimate the shape parameter in closed forms, although it can be solved by numerical methods. Moreover, the Bayesian estimates of the parameters, the survival and hazard functions cannot be solved analytically. Hence Markov Chain Monte Carlo method and Lindley’s approximation are used, where the full conditional distribution for the parameters of Weibull distribution are obtained via Gibbs sampling and Metropolis-Hastings algorithm (HM) followed by estimate the survival and hazard functions. The methods are compared to Maximum Likelihood counterparts and the comparisons are made with respect to the Mean Square Error (MSE) and absolute bias to determine the better method in scale and shape parameters, the survival and hazard functions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=weibull%20distribution" title="weibull distribution">weibull distribution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bayesian%20method" title=" bayesian method"> bayesian method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=markov%20chain%20mote%20carlo" title=" markov chain mote carlo"> markov chain mote carlo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=survival%20and%20hazard%20functions" title=" survival and hazard functions"> survival and hazard functions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31291/bayesian-using-markov-chain-monte-carlo-and-lindleys-approximation-based-on-type-i-censored-data" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31291.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">479</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8860</span> Bayesian Estimation under Different Loss Functions Using Gamma Prior for the Case of Exponential Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Md.%20Rashidul%20Hasan">Md. The aim of this paper is to study the Bayes estimators of the parameter of exponential distribution under different loss functions and then compared among them as well as with the classical estimator named maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). In our real life, we always try to minimize the loss and we also want to gather some prior information (distribution) about the problem to solve it accurately. Here the gamma prior is used as the prior distribution of exponential distribution for finding the Bayes estimator. In our study, we also used different symmetric and asymmetric loss functions such as squared error loss function, quadratic loss function, modified linear exponential (MLINEX) loss function and non-linear exponential (NLINEX) loss function. Finally, mean square error (MSE) of the estimators are obtained and then presented graphically. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bayes%20estimator" title="Bayes estimator">Bayes estimator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=maximum%20likelihood%20estimator%20%28MLE%29" title=" maximum likelihood estimator (MLE)"> maximum likelihood estimator (MLE)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modified%20linear%20exponential%20%28MLINEX%29%20loss%20function" title=" modified linear exponential (MLINEX) loss function"> modified linear exponential (MLINEX) loss function</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Squared%20Error%20%28SE%29%20loss%20function" title=" Squared Error (SE) loss function"> Squared Error (SE) loss function</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-linear%20exponential%20%28NLINEX%29%20loss%20function" title=" non-linear exponential (NLINEX) loss function"> non-linear exponential (NLINEX) loss function</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53902/bayesian-estimation-under-different-loss-functions-using-gamma-prior-for-the-case-of-exponential-distribution" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53902.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">384</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8859</span> The Unsteady Non-Equilibrium Distribution Function and Exact Equilibrium Time for a Dilute Gas Affected by Thermal Radiation Field</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Taha%20Zakaraia%20Abdel%20Wahid">Taha Zakaraia Abdel Wahid</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The behavior of the unsteady non-equilibrium distribution function for a dilute gas under the effect of non-linear thermal radiation field is presented. The results of a few objective studies of sleep deprivation on cognitive performance were not clarified. In particular, the effect of sleep deprivation on the cognitive functions associated with frontal lobe such as attention, executive functions, working memory is not well known. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of partial sleep deprivation experimentally in adolescents on the cognitive tasks of frontal lobe including working memory, strategic thinking, simple attention, continuous attention, executive functions, and cognitive flexibility. Subjects of the study were recruited from voluntary students of Cukurova University. Eighteen adolescents underwent four consecutive nights of monitored sleep restriction (6–6.5 hr/night) and four nights of sleep extension (10–10.5 hr/night), in counterbalanced order, and separated by a washout period. Following each sleep period, cognitive performance was assessed, at a fixed morning time, using a computerized neuropsychological battery based on frontal lobe functions task, a timed test providing both accuracy and reaction time outcome measures. Only the spatial working memory performance of cognitive tasks was found to be statistically lower in a restricted sleep condition than the extended sleep condition. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the performance of cognitive tasks evaluating simple attention, constant attention, executive functions, and cognitive flexibility. It is thought that especially the spatial working memory and strategic thinking skills of adolescents may be susceptible to sleep deprivation. On the other hand, adolescents are predicted to be optimally successful in ideal sleep conditions, especially in the circumstances requiring for the short term storage of visual information, processing of stored information, and strategic thinking. The findings of this study may also be associated with possible negative functional effects on the processing of academic social and emotional inputs in adolescents for partial sleep deprivation. The various measures of reliability like availability of system, MTTF, profit function for different parametric values has been discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=star%20topology" title="star topology">star topology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bus%20topology" title=" bus topology"> bus topology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hacking" title=" hacking"> hacking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blocking" title=" blocking"> blocking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linux%20operating%20system" title=" linux operating system"> linux operating system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gumbel-Hougaard%20family%20copula" title=" Gumbel-Hougaard family copula"> Gumbel-Hougaard family copula</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supplementary%20variable" title=" supplementary variable "> supplementary variable </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33606/performance-analysis-of-linux-operating-system-connected-in-lan-using-gumbel-hougaard-family-copula-distribution" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33606.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">577</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8854</span> Nucleotide Based Validation of the Endangered Plant Diospyros mespiliformis (Ebenaceae) by Evaluating Short Sequence Region of Plastid rbcL Gene</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdullah%20Alaklabi">Abdullah Alaklabi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ibrahim%20A.%20Arif"> Ibrahim A. This plant species is currently listed as endangered in Saudi Arabia. Molecular identification of this plant species based on short sequence regions (571 and 664 bp) of plastid rbcL (ribulose-1, 5-biphosphate carboxylase) gene was investigated in this study. The endangered plant specimens were collected from Al-Baha, Saudi Arabia (GPS coordinate: 19.8543987, 41.3059349). Phylogenetic tree inferred from the rbcL gene sequences showed that this species is very closely related with D. brandisiana. The close relationship was also observed among D. bejaudii, D. Philippinensis and D. releyi (≥99.7% sequence homology). The partial rbcL gene sequence region (571 bp) that was amplified by rbcL primer-pair rbcLaF-rbcLaR failed to discriminate D. mespiliformis from the closely related plant species, D. brandisiana. In contrast, primer-pair rbcL1F-rbcL724R yielded longer amplicon, discriminated the species from D. brandisiana and demonstrated nucleotide variations in 3 different sites (645G>T; 663A>C; 710C>G). Although D. mespiliformis (EU980712) and D. brandisiana (EU980656) are very closely related species (99.4%); however, studied specimen showed 100% sequence homology with D. mespiliformis and 99.6% with D. brandisiana. The present findings showed that rbcL short sequence region (664 bp) of plastid rbcL gene, amplified by primer-pair rbcL1F-rbcL724R, can be used for authenticating samples of D. mespiliforformis and may provide help in authentic identification and management process of this medicinally valuable endangered plant species. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diospyros%20mespiliformis" title="Diospyros mespiliformis">Diospyros mespiliformis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=endangered%20plant" title=" endangered plant"> endangered plant</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=identification%20partial%20rbcL" title=" identification partial rbcL"> identification partial rbcL</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15990/nucleotide-based-validation-of-the-endangered-plant-diospyros-mespiliformis-ebenaceae-by-evaluating-short-sequence-region-of-plastid-rbcl-gene" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15990.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">432</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8853</span> A Proof of the N. The variation weak form is used in the EFG where the trial and test functions are approximated bye the MLS approximation. Since the shape functions constructed by this discretization have the weight function property based on the randomly distributed points, the essential boundary conditions can be implemented easily. The local weak form of the partial differential governing equations is obtained by the weighted residual method within the simple local quadrature domain. The spline function with high continuity is used as the weight function. The presently developed EFG method is a truly meshless method, as it does not require the mesh, either for the construction of the shape functions, or for the integration of the local weak form. Several numerical examples of two-dimensional static structural analysis are presented to illustrate the performance of the present EFG method. They show that the EFG method is highly efficient for the implementation and highly accurate for the computation. They have interested many authors. The exponential partial Bell polynomials have been well reduced to some special combinatorial sequences. Numerous researchers had already been interested in the above polynomials, as evidenced by many articles in the literature. Inspired by this work, in this work, we propose a family of special polynomials named after the 2-successive partial Bell polynomials. Using the combinatorial approach, we prove the properties of these numbers, derive several identities, and discuss some special cases. This family includes well-known numbers and polynomials such as Stirling numbers, Bell numbers and polynomials, and so on. Long-term average of these climate variables could possibly change over time due to climate change impacts. In this study, trend analysis was performed on rainfall, maximum and minimum temperature and water level data of a coastal area in Manhattan, New York City, Central Park and Battery Park stations to investigate if there is a significant change in the data mean. Partial Man-Kendall test was used for trend analysis. Frequency analysis was then performed on data using common probability distribution functions such as Generalized Extreme Value (GEV), normal, log-normal and log-Pearson. Goodness of fit tests such as Kolmogorov-Smirnov are used to determine the most appropriate distributions. In flood frequency analysis, rainfall and water level data are often separately investigated. However, in determining flood zones, simultaneous consideration of rainfall and water level in frequency analysis could have considerable effect on floodplain delineation (flood extent and depth). The present study aims to perform flood frequency analysis considering joint probability distribution for rainfall and storm surge. First, correlation between the considered variables was investigated. Joint probability distribution of extreme water level and temperature was also investigated to examine how global warming could affect sea level flooding impacts. Copula functions were fitted to data and joint probability of water level with rainfall and temperature for different recurrence intervals of 2, 5, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 600 and 1000 was determined and compared with the severity of individual events. Results for trend analysis showed increase in long-term average of data that could be attributed to climate change impacts. GEV distribution was found as the most appropriate function to be fitted to the extreme climate variables. The results for joint probability distribution analysis confirmed the necessity for incorporation of both rainfall and water level data in flood frequency analysis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=climate%20change" title="climate change">climate change</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=climate%20variables" title=" climate variables"> climate variables</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=copula" title=" copula"> copula</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=joint%20probability" title=" joint probability"> joint probability</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49083/joint-probability-distribution-of-extreme-water-level-with-rainfall-and-temperature-trend-analysis-of-potential-impacts-of-climate-change" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49083.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">360</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8848</span> Stochastic Analysis of Linux Operating System through Copula Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vijay%20Vir%20Singh">Vijay Vir Singh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This work is focused studying the Linux operating system connected in a LAN (local area network). It contains the IFR class of distributions and is contained in the NBUE class of distributions. While upper and lower bounds of the reliability distribution function of aging classes such as IFR, IFRA, NBU, NBUE, and HNBUE have discussed in the literature for a long time, there is no analogous result available for the DMRL class. We obtain the upper and lower bounds for the reliability function of the DMRL class in terms of first order finite moment. The lower bound is obtained by showing that for any fixed time, the minimization of the reliability function over the class of all DMRL distributions with a fixed mean is equivalent to its minimization over a smaller class of distribution with a special form. Optimization over this restricted set can be made algebraically. Likewise, the maximization of the reliability function over the class of all DMRL distributions with a fixed mean turns out to be a parametric optimization problem over the class of DMRL distributions of a special form. The constructive proofs also establish that both the upper and lower bounds are sharp. Further, the DMRL upper bound coincides with the HNBUE upper bound and the lower bound coincides with the IFR lower bound. We also prove that a pair of sharp upper and lower bounds for the reliability function when the distribution is increasing mean residual life (IMRL) with a fixed mean. This result is proved in a similar way. These inequalities fill a long-standing void in the literature of the life distribution modeling. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
