never fails.2No one can praise you enoughfor all the mighty thingsyou have done.3You bless those peoplewho are honest and fairin everything they do.4Remember me, Lord,when you show kindnessby saving your people.5Let me prosper with the restof your chosen ones,as they celebrate with pridebecause they belong to you.6We and our ancestorshave sinned terribly.7<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.7!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> When they were in Egypt,they paid no attentionto your marvelous deedsor your wonderful love.And they turned against youat the Red Sea.<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.7!f.2" enemies.12<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.12!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> Then your people trusted youand sang your praises.13But they soon forgotwhat you had doneand rejected your advice.14<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.14!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> They became greedy for foodand tested you therein the desert.15So you gave themwhat they wanted,but later you destroyed themwith a horrible disease.16<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.16!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> Everyone in camp was jealousof Moses and of Aaron,your chosen priest.17Dathan and Abiram rebelled,and the earth opened upand swallowed them.18Then fire broke outand destroyed allof their followers.19<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.19!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> At Horeb your peoplemade and worshiped the statue20of a bull, instead of you,their glorious God.21You worked powerful miraclesto save them from Egypt,but they forgot about you22and the fearsome thingsyou did at the Red Sea.<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.22!f.1" class="notelink f-link">+</a> 23You were angry and startedto destroy them,but Moses, your chosen leader,begged you not to do it.24<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.24!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> They would not trustyou, Lord,and they did not likethe promised land.25They would not obey you,and they grumbledin their tents.26So you threatened themby saying, “I'll kill youout here in the desert!27<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.27!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> I'll scatter your childreneverywhere in the world.”28<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.28!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> Your people became followersof a god named Baal Peor,and they ate sacrificesoffered to the dead.<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.28!f.2" class="notelink f-link">+</a> 29They did such terrible thingsthat you punished themwith a deadly disease.30But Phinehas<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.30!f.1" class="notelink f-link">+</a> helped them,and the sickness stopped.31Now he will alwaysbe highly honored.32<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.32!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> At Meribah Spring<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.32!f.2" class="notelink f-link">+</a> they turned against youand made you furious.33Then Moses got into troublefor speaking in anger.34<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.34!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> Our Lord, they disobeyed youby refusing to destroythe nations.35Instead they were friendlywith those foreignersand followed their customs.36Then they fell into the trapof worshiping idols.37<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.37!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> They sacrificed their sonsand their daughters to demons38<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.38!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> and to the gods of Canaan.Then they poured out the bloodof these innocent childrenand made the land filthy.39By doing such gruesome things,they also became filthy.40<a href="#fn" id="link_Ps.106.40!x.1" class="notelink x-link"></a> Finally, Lord, you were angryand terribly disgustedwith your people.41So you put them in the powerof nations that hated them.42They were mistreated and abusedby their enemies,43but you saved themtime after time.They were determined to rebel,and their sins causedtheir downfall.44You answered their prayerswhen they were in trouble.45You kept your agreementand were so merciful46that their enemieshad pity on them.47<a
