<t><p class="indent1">The idols<MH457> of Egypt<MH4714> will tremble<MH5128> at His presence<MH6440>, <t><p class="indent1">And the heart<MH3824> of the Egyptians<MH4714> will melt<MH4549> within<MH7130> them. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>“So I will incite<MH5526a> Egyptians<MH4714> against Egyptians<MH4714>; <t><p class="indent1">And they will fight<MH3898a>, each<MH376> against his brother<MH251> and each<MH376> against his neighbor<MH7453>, <t><p class="indent1">City<MH5892b> against city<MH5892b> <i>and</i> kingdom<MH4467> against kingdom<MH4467>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>“Then the spirit<MH7307> of the Egyptians<MH4714> will be demoralized<MH1238b> within<MH7130> them; <t><p class="indent1">And I will confuse<MH1104> their strategy<MH6098>, <t><p class="indent1">So that they will resort<MH1875> to idols<MH457> and ghosts<MH330b> of<MH330b> the<MH330b> dead<MH330b>, <t><p class="indent1">And to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>mediums<MH178> and spiritists<MH3049>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>“Furthermore, I will hand<MH5534a, 3027> the Egyptians<MH4714> over<MH5534a> to a cruel<MH7186> master<MH113>, <t><p class="indent1">And a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>mighty<MH5794> king<MH4428> will rule<MH4910> over them,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>GOD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635>. <poetry><p class="paragraph"><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>The waters<MH4325> from the sea<MH3220> will dry<MH5405> up, <t><p class="indent1">And the river<MH5104> will be parched<MH2717a> and dry<MH3001>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>The <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>canals<MH5104> will emit<MH2186b> a<MH2186b> stench<MH2186b>, <t><p class="indent1">The <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>streams<MH2975> of Egypt<MH4693> will thin<MH1809> out<MH1809> and dry<MH2717a> up<MH2717a>; <t><p class="indent1">The reeds<MH7070> and rushes<MH5488> will rot<MH7060> away<MH7060>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>The bulrushes<MH6169> by the Nile<MH2975>, by the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>edge<MH6310> of the Nile<MH2975> <t><p class="indent1">And all<MH3605> the sown<MH4218> fields<MH4218> by the Nile<MH2975> <t><p class="indent1">Will become<MH3001> dry<MH3001>, be driven<MH5086> away<MH5086>, and be no<MH369> more<MH369>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And the fishermen<MH1728> will grieve<MH578>, <t><p class="indent1">And all<MH3605> those who cast<MH7993> a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>line<MH2443> into the Nile<MH2975> will mourn<MH56>, <t><p class="indent1">And those who spread<MH6566> nets<MH4365b> on the waters<MH4325> will dwindle<MH535> away<MH535>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Moreover, the manufacturers<MH5647> of linen<MH6593> made from combed<MH8305> flax<MH8305> <t><p class="indent1">And the weavers<MH707> of white<MH2360a> cloth<MH2360a> will be<MH954> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>utterly<MH954> dejected<MH954>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>the pillars<MH8356> <i>of Egypt</i> will be crushed<MH1792>; <t><p class="indent1">All<MH3605> the hired<MH7938> laborers<MH6213a> will be grieved<MH99> in soul<MH5315>. <poetry><p class="paragraph"><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>The officials<MH8269> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>Zoan<MH6814> are mere<MH389> fools<MH191>; <t><p class="indent1">The advice<MH6098> of Pharaoh’s<MH6547> wisest<MH2450> advisers<MH3289> has become<MH1197b> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>stupid<MH1197b>. <t><p class="indent1">How<MH349> can you say<MH559> to Pharaoh<MH6547>, <p class="indent1stline">“I am a son<MH1121> of the wise<MH2450>, a son<MH1121> of ancient<MH6924a> kings<MH4428>”? <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Well<MH645> then<MH645>, where<MH335> are your wise<MH2450> men<MH2450>? <t><p class="indent1">Please<MH4994> let them tell<MH5046> you, <t><p class="indent1">And let them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>understand<MH3045> what<MH4100> the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635> <t><p class="indent1">Has planned<MH3289> against<MH5921> Egypt<MH4714>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>The officials<MH8269> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>Zoan<MH6814> have turned<MH2973> out<MH2973> to<MH2973> be<MH2973> fools<MH2973>, <t><p class="indent1">The officials<MH8269> of Memphis<MH5297> are deluded<MH5378>; <t><p class="indent1"><i>Those who are</i> the cornerstone<MH6438> of her tribes<MH7626> <t><p class="indent1">Have <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>led<MH8582> Egypt<MH4714> astray<MH8582>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>The LORD<MH3068> has mixed<MH4537> within<MH7130> her a spirit<MH7307> of distortion<MH5773>; <t><p class="indent1">They have led<MH8582> Egypt<MH4714> astray<MH8582> in all<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>that it does<MH4639>, <t><p class="indent1">As a drunken<MH7910> person<MH7910> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>staggers<MH8582> in his vomit<MH7006b>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>There will be no<MH3808> work<MH4639> for Egypt<MH4714> <t><p class="indent1">Which<MH834> <i>its</i> head<MH7218> or tail<MH2180>, <i>its</i> palm<MH3712> branch<MH3712> or bulrush<MH100>, may do<MH6213a>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>On that day<MH3117> the Egyptians<MH4714> will become<MH1961> like women<MH802>, and they will tremble<MH2729> and be<MH6342> in<MH6342> great<MH6342> fear<MH6342> because<MH4480, 6440> of the waving<MH5130> of the hand<MH3027> of the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635>, which<MH834> He is going to wave<MH5130> over<MH5921> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>The land<MH127> of Judah<MH3063> will become<MH1961> a cause<MH2283> of<MH2283> shame<MH2283> to Egypt<MH4714>; everyone<MH3605> to whom<MH834> it is mentioned<MH2142> will be<MH6342> in<MH6342> great<MH6342> fear<MH6342> because<MH4480, 6440> of the plan<MH6098> of the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635> which<MH834> He is making<MH3289> against<MH5921> them. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>On that day<MH3117> five<MH2568> cities<MH5892b> in the land<MH776> of Egypt<MH4714> will be speaking<MH1696> the language<MH8193> of Canaan<MH3667a> and swearing<MH7650> <i>allegiance</i> to the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635>; one<MH259> will be called<MH559> the City<MH5892b> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>Destruction<MH2041>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>On that day<MH3117> there will be an altar<MH4196> to the LORD<MH3068> in the midst<MH8432> of the land<MH776> of Egypt<MH4714>, and a memorial<MH4676> stone<MH4676> to the LORD<MH3068> beside<MH681a> its border<MH1366>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And it will become<MH1961> a sign<MH226> and a witness<MH5707> to the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635> in the land<MH776> of Egypt<MH4714>; for they will cry<MH6817> out<MH6817> to the LORD<MH3068> because<MH4480, 6440> of oppressors<MH3905>, and He will send<MH7971> them a Savior<MH3467> and a Champion<MH7378>, and He will save<MH5337> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/19-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>So the LORD<MH3068> will make<MH3045> Himself known<MH3045> to Egypt<MH4714>, and the Egyptians<MH4714> will know<MH3045> the LORD<MH3068> on that day<MH3117>.
