It looks like Verizon reclaimed my space without telling me. Fortunately, I have a backup, and will post a copy to Github in the next few days. I’ll then update this page to point there.</p> <p>FDC is not under active development at this time (it’s basically developed to the level I wanted it to be; and for that matter OCLC has made its DDC more open since I started this project). But I’m still happy to have folks use it, copy it, and remix it as they see fit. I might do one more update in the not too distant future after the Library of Congress publishes a new download file for LCSH on id.loc.gov (they’ve changed a few of the headings since I originally did this, and an up-to-date download file will let me quickly verify and update my LC correpsondences), and publish that update as “version 1.0”.</p> </div> <div class="reply"> <a rel="nofollow" class="comment-reply-link" href="https://everybodyslibraries.com/free-decimal-correspondence/?replytocom=20212#respond" data-commentid="20212" data-postid="400" data-belowelement="comment-20212" data-respondelement="respond" data-replyto="Reply to John Mark Ockerbloom" aria-label="Reply to John Mark Ockerbloom">Reply</a> </div><!-- .reply --> </div><!-- #comment-## --> <ul class="children"> <li class="comment even depth-2" id="li-comment-20836"> <div id="comment-20836"> <div class="comment-author vcard"> <img alt='' src='https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=40&d=identicon&r=G' srcset='https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=40&d=identicon&r=G 1x, https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=60&d=identicon&r=G 1.5x, https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=80&d=identicon&r=G 2x, https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=120&d=identicon&r=G 3x, https://0.gravatar.com/avatar/6ab8228fff035836aeba4a86ae0f2d8acdac4a354dedf2da89b92d4df9c40a78?s=160&d=identicon&r=G 4x' class='avatar avatar-40' height='40' width='40' loading='lazy' decoding='async' /> <cite class="fn">Greg Potts</cite> <span class="says">says:</span> </div><!-- .comment-author .vcard --> <div class="comment-meta commentmetadata"><a href="https://everybodyslibraries.com/free-decimal-correspondence/#comment-20836"> July 19, 2015 at 11:07 am</a> </div><!-- .comment-meta .commentmetadata --> <div class="comment-body"><p>I would like to get a copy of the FDC.txt file but the link is stil broken and I don’t find it on Github either.</p> </div> <div class="reply"> <a rel="nofollow" class="comment-reply-link" href="https://everybodyslibraries.com/free-decimal-correspondence/?replytocom=20836#respond" data-commentid="20836" data-postid="400" data-belowelement="comment-20836" data-respondelement="respond" data-replyto="Reply to Greg Potts" aria-label="Reply to Greg Potts">Reply</a> </div><!-- .reply --> </div><!-- #comment-## --> </li><!-- #comment-## --> </ul><!-- .children --> </li><!-- #comment-## --> <li class="comment byuser comment-author-ahemagain odd alt thread-even depth-1" id="li-comment-20215"> <div id="comment-20215"> <div class="comment-author vcard"> <img alt='' src='https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=40&d=identicon&r=G' srcset='https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=40&d=identicon&r=G 1x, https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=60&d=identicon&r=G 1.5x, https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=80&d=identicon&r=G 2x, https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=120&d=identicon&r=G 3x, https://1.gravatar.com/avatar/a1870450f8c5cdc4ded5435d874c83fb7958a44320ccec4e3629986edf5d0e4c?s=160&d=identicon&r=G 4x' class='avatar avatar-40' height='40' width='40' loading='lazy' decoding='async' /> <cite class="fn"><a href="http://eschatonandon.wordpress.com" class="url" rel="ugc external nofollow">ahemagain</a></cite> <span class="says">says:</span> </div><!-- .comment-author .vcard --> <div class="comment-meta commentmetadata"><a href="https://everybodyslibraries.com/free-decimal-correspondence/#comment-20215"> February 18, 2015 at 6:22 pm</a> </div><!-- .comment-meta .commentmetadata --> <div class="comment-body"><p>I noticed that the full 1000 classes of the DDC were on wikipedia, and the last I remembered, it was just the top two levels previously available.<br /> I’m still going to use your system as a starting point, although I’ll be making some fairly radical changes based on recent work verifying the Hierarchy of Science theory.
