Since then, impressive advances have been made in smart mechatronics systems. Furthermore, smart mechatronics systems are promising areas, and as a result, we were intrigued to learn more about them. Consequently, the purpose of this study was to examine the smart mechatronic systems that have been applied to agricultural areas so far, with inspiration from the smart mechatronic system in other sectors. To get an overview of the current state of the art, benefits and drawbacks of smart mechatronics systems, various approaches were investigated. Moreover, smart mechatronic modules and various networks applied in agriculture processing were examined. Finally, we explored how the data retrieved using the one-way analysis of variance related to each other. The result showed that there were strongly related keywords for different journals. With the virtually limited use of sophisticated mechatronics in the agricultural industry and, at the same time, the low production rate, the demand for food security has fallen dramatically. Therefore, the application of smart mechatronics systems in agricultural sectors would be taken into consideration in order to overcome these issues. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechatronics" title="mechatronics">mechatronics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robotic" title=" robotic"> robotic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robotic%20system" title=" robotic system"> robotic system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=automation" title=" automation"> automation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=agriculture%20mechanism" title=" agriculture mechanism"> agriculture mechanism</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/165424/assessment-of-smart-mechatronics-application-in-agriculture" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/165424.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">81</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17586</span> Future Trends of Mechatronics Engineering in Pakistan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aqeela%20Mir">Aqeela Mir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Akhtar%20Nawaz%20Malik"> Akhtar Nawaz Malik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javaid%20Iqbal"> Javaid Iqbal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The paper presents a survey based approach in order to observe the level of awareness regarding Mechatronics in society of Pakistan and the factors affecting the future development trend of Mechatronics in Pakistan. To remain competitive in the global market, these firms and their local systems need to renovate their traditional competitive advantages, strengthen their link with global flows of knowledge. This may be particularly relevant in sectors such as the mechatronics, that combine traditional knowledge domain with new knowledge domains (e.g. mechanics, electronics, and informatics). This sector is nowadays one of the key sectors within the so-called ‘smart specialization strategy’ that can lead part of the Italian traditional industry towards new economic developmental opportunities. This paper, by investigating the mechatronics district of the Veneto region, wants to shed new light on how firms of a local system can gain from the globalization of innovation and innovation networks. Methodologically, the paper relies on primary data collected through a survey targeting firms of the local system, as well as on a number of qualitative case studies. The relevant role of medium size companies in the district emerges as evident, as they have wider opportunities to be involved in different processes of globalization of innovation. Indeed, with respect to small companies, the size of medium firms allows them to exploit strategically international markets and globally distributed knowledge. Supporting medium firms’ global innovation strategies, and incentivizing their role as district gatekeepers, may strengthen the competitive capability of the local system and provide new opportunities to positively face global competition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20innovation%20network" title="global innovation network">global innovation network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=industrial%20district" title=" industrial district"> industrial district</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internationalization" title=" internationalization"> internationalization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=innovation" title=" innovation"> innovation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechatronics" title=" mechatronics"> mechatronics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Veneto%20region" title=" Veneto region"> Veneto region</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65686/facing-global-competition-through-participation-in-global-innovation-networks-the-case-of-mechatronics-district-in-the-veneto-region" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65686.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">230</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17581</span> Implementation of a Photo-Curable 3D Additive Manufacturing Technology with Grey Capability by Using Piezo Ink-jets</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ming-Jong%20Tsai">Ming-Jong Tsai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Y.%20L.%20Cheng"> Y. The real challenge is how to improve existing sorting system applications which consists of two integrated stations of processing and handling with a new image processing feature. Existing color sorting techniques use a set of inductive, capacitive, and optical sensors to differentiate object color. This research presents a mechatronics color sorting system solution with the application of image processing. A 5-DOF robot arm is designed and developed with pick and place operation to be main part of the color sorting system. Image processing procedure senses the circular objects in an image captured in real time by a webcam attached at the end-effector then extracts color and position information out of it. This information is passed as a sequence of sorting commands to the manipulator that has pick-and-place mechanism. Performance analysis proves that this color based object sorting system works very accurate under ideal condition in term of adequate illumination, circular objects shape and color. The circular objects tested for sorting are red, green and blue. For non-ideal condition, such as unspecified color the accuracy reduces to 80%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robotics%20manipulator" title="robotics manipulator">robotics manipulator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=5-DOF%20manipulator" title=" 5-DOF manipulator"> 5-DOF manipulator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20processing" title=" image processing"> image processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=color%20sorting" title=" color sorting"> color sorting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pick-and-place" title=" pick-and-place"> pick-and-place</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1473/design-and-development-of-5-dof-color-sorting-manipulator-for-industrial-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1473.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">374</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17570</span> Design of a Customized Freshly-Made Fruit Salad and Juices Vending Machine</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mar%C3%ADa%20Laura%20Guevara%20Campos">María Laura Guevara Campos</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The increasing number of vending machines makes it easy for people to find them more frequently in stores, universities, workplaces, and even hospitals. These machines usually offer products with high contents of sugar and fat, which, if consumed regularly, can result in serious health threats, as overweight and obesity. Additionally, the energy consumption of these machines tends to be high, which has an impact on the environment as well. In order to promote the consumption of healthy food, a vending machine was designed to give the customer the opportunity to choose between a customized fruit salad and a customized fruit juice, both of them prepared instantly with the ingredients selected by the customer. The main parameters considered to design the machine were: the storage of the preferred fruits in a salad and/or in a juice according to a survey, the size of the machine, the use of ecologic recipients, and the overall energy consumption. The methodology used for the design was the one proposed by the German Association of Engineers for mechatronics systems, which breaks the design process in several stages, from the elaboration of a list of requirements through the establishment of the working principles and the design concepts to the final design of the machine, which was done in a 3D modelling software. Finally, with the design of this machine, the aim is to contribute to the development and implementation of healthier vending machines that offer freshly-made products, which is not being widely attended at present. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design" title="design">design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design%20methodology" title=" design methodology"> design methodology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechatronics%20systems" title=" mechatronics systems"> mechatronics systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vending%20machines" title=" vending machines"> vending machines</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/134329/design-of-a-customized-freshly-made-fruit-salad-and-juices-vending-machine" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/134329.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">133</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17569</span> Simulation of Performance and Layout Optimization of Solar Collectors with AVR Microcontroller to Achieve Desired Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohsen%20Azarmjoo">Mohsen Azarmjoo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Navid%20Sharifi"> Navid Sharifi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zahra%20Alikhani%20Koopaei"> Zahra Alikhani Koopaei</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This article aims to conserve energy and optimize the performance of solar water heaters using modern modeling systems. This lower limb disability affects all the aspects of their lives by taking away their autonomy. This implicates their close relatives, as well as the health system to provide the necessary care they need. The integration of exoskeletons in the medical field became a promising solution to resolve this issue. This paper presents an exoskeleton designed to help hemiplegic people get back the sensation and ability of normal walking. For this purpose, three step models have been created. The first step allows a simple forward movement of the leg. The second method is designed to overcome some obstacles in the patient path, and finally the third step model gives the patient total control over the device. Each of the control methods was designed to offer a solution to the challenges that the patients may face during the walking process. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ability%20of%20normal%20walking" title="ability of normal walking">ability of normal walking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exoskeleton" title=" exoskeleton"> exoskeleton</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hemiplegic%20patients" title=" hemiplegic patients"> hemiplegic patients</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lower%20limb%20motion-%20mechatronics" title=" lower limb motion- mechatronics"> lower limb motion- mechatronics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129650/exoskeleton-for-hemiplegic-patients-mechatronic-approach-to-move-one-disabled-lower-limb" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129650.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">153</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17566</span> The Thermal Simulation of Hydraulic Cable Drum Trailers 15-Ton</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmad%20Abdul-Razzak%20Aboudi%20Al-Issa">Ahmad Abdul-Razzak Aboudi Al-Issa</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Thermal is the main important aspect in any hydraulic system since it is affected on the hydraulic system performance. The expert system (HSC) had been designed and coded in an user-friendly interactive program called Microsoft Visual Basic 2010. It integrates business processes, manages resources efficiently and provides an appropriate decision support system to management. ERP system implementation is a typical and time taking process as well as money consuming process. Articles related to key success factors of ERP system implementation are available in the literature, but rare authors have focused on roadmap of successful ERP system implementation. Postponement is better if the organization is not ready to implement ERP system in better way; hence checking of organization’s preparation to adopt new system is an important prerequisite to ensure the success of ERP system implementation in an organization. Then comes what will be called as success of ERP system implementation. Benefits achieved by ERP system may be categorized into two categories; viz. tangible and intangible benefits. This research article presents a roadmap to ensure the success of ERP system implementation and benefits achieved through the new system as in success indicator. A case study is presented to evaluate the success and benefit achieved through the new system.
