There are no current plans to discontinue support and maintenance of SayMore. But there are also no current plans for major new features. If you’ve been hoping for the day when a version of SayMore becomes available for Mac or Linux, you might want to check out <a href="https://sites.google.com/site/metadatatooldiscussion/home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lameta</a> to see if it will meet your needs. Lameta is a metadata tool to help with organizing collections of files. Like SayMore, it is mainly aimed at collections made in the course of documenting language, music, and other cultural expressions. Unlike SayMore, it does not have the tools for segmenting and annotating media files. Note: Lameta is not SIL software, but it was inspired by SayMore and created in large part by John Hatton, an SIL developer who has had a major role in SayMore. Instead, SayMore borrows ELAN’s file format, so that you can do the basics in SayMore (transcription and translation) and then just double-click on the file to do further work in ELAN.</li> <li>…handle multiple speaker transcription. You can use a different tool (Transcriber or ELAN) for your transcription, and just drop the files into SayMore. <del datetime="2017-05-18T19:51:16+00:00">* …have a place to enter project information: who funded the work? Where was it held? Etc.</del></li> <li>…do interlinearization. It does have an “Export to FLEx” command for sending your transcriptions out.</li> <li>…aim to be easy for people new to computers, with the exception of the transcription & oral annotation tools. Here are major changes: <ul> <li>When you correct the spelling of a person’s name, the name is also updated in all events where he/she is listed as a participant.</li> <li>The People list now gives an indication of the Informed Consent status of each person. You get a warning icon if there is no consent file, and different icons for photograph, audio and video consent files.</li> <li>Events now have a “Status” value, which you set. Currently, the choices are “Incoming”, “In Progress”, “Finished”, and “Skip”. The later is for events which you don’t plan to work with or publish.</li> <li>The list of Events now displays information about the workflow status in the “Stages” column.
