Dr. Sheikh has practiced as an Internist, but went on to become an Assistant Professor of Radiology in Nuclear Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he served as the Director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Medicine and Targeted Radionuclide Therapies, as well as faculty in the Department of Neurology in the epilsepy imaging program. He moved to Columbia University in New York as an Associate Professor of Radiology, where he became the Director of Nuclear Medicine. Currently, he is at Temple University as Professor of Radiology, and is Co-director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Medicine. He is Board Certified in Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology, and has also received Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Dr. Sheikh’s interests are in areas of Theranostics, and Molecular Imaging in Neurology and Cardiology. He has deep clinical experience in these areas, and has performed research in looking at image based dosimetry with I-124 in Thyroid Cancer, and clinical trials with novel Radionuclide Therapeutics in Pancreatic and Prostate Cancers.
