which, indeed, occasion disputes rather than God's dispensation, which <i>is</i> in faith, <i>so do I now</i>. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and of faith unfeigned; <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>which some having missed turned aside to vain talk; <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>wishing to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they confidently affirm.<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>But we know that the law is good, if one use it lawfully; <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>knowing this, that law is not enacted for a righteous man, but for lawless and unruly <i>ones</i>, for ungodly and sinful, for unholy and profane, for patricides, and matricides, for man-slayers, <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>for fornicators, for sodomites, for man-stealers, for liars, for false swearers; and whatever else is contrary to healthful teaching; <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>according to the Gospel of the glory of the Blessed God, with which I was entrusted.<p> <A name="13"></a><p class="hdg">God’s Grace to Paul<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>I have thanks for Him Who empowered me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He accounted me faithful, putting <i>me</i> into <i>His</i> service, <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>though formerly I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious; but I obtained mercy, because I, being ignorant, did <i>it</i> in unbelief; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>and the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which <i>is</i> in Christ Jesus. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Faithful <i>is</i> the saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief; <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>but for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me, as chief, Christ Jesus might show forth all His longsuffering for an example to those about to believe on Him unto eternal life. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_timothy/1-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Now to the King of the ages, incorruptible, invisible, only God, <i>be</i> honor and glory forever and ever.
