In the ‘60s, he got to know the rebetiko legends of the time at his father’s little workshop in Athens. Manolis Chiotis once tipped him a month’s salary. The bouzouki of the great Stelios Kazantzidis is displayed with pride in the shop to this day.</p> <p>Tanya Veanous Tsakirian, Karolos’ daughter, studied abroad, only to return and take up the family
