In total, 48 new levels and 83 new transitions in the β-decay daughter Po216 were identified. Shell-model calculations for excited states in Bi216 and Po216 were performed using the H208 and the modified Kuo-Herling particle effective interactions. Based on the experimental observations and the shell-model calculations, the most likely spin and parity assignments for the β-decaying states in Bi216 are (3−) and (8−), respectively.
the Lightest Gold Isotopes

The changes in mean-squared charge radii of neutron-deficient gold nuclei have been determined using the in-source, resonance-ionization laser spectroscopy technique, at the ISOLDE facility (CERN). From these new data, nuclear deformations are inferred, revealing a competition between deformed and spherical configurations. The isotopes Au180,181,182 are observed to possess well-deformed ground states and, when moving to lighter masses, a sudden transition to near-spherical shapes is seen in the extremely neutron-deficient nuclides, Au176,177,179. A case of shape coexistence and shape staggering is identified in Au178 which has a ground and isomeric state with different deformations. These new data reveal a pattern in ground-state deformation unique to the gold isotopes, whereby, when moving from the heavy to light masses, a plateau of well-deformed isotopes exists around the neutron midshell, flanked by near-spherical shapes in the heavier and lighter isotopes—a trend hitherto unseen elsewhere in the nuclear chart. The experimental charge radii are compared to those from Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations using the D1M Gogny interaction and configuration mixing between states of different deformation. The calculations are constrained by the known spins, parities, and magnetic moments of the ground states in gold nuclei and show a good agreement with the experimental results.

The first experiment using radioactive beams post-accelerated by the HIE-ISOLDE facility has enabled to obtain a precise set of B(E2) transition probabilities in neutron-rich Zn74,76 isotopes. The resulting B(E2; 21+→01+) values are consistent with those determined in earlier REX-ISOLDE measurements. While the B(E2; 41+→21+) transition probability in Zn76 is also in agreement with earlier Coulomb-excitation results, the value obtained for Zn74 is considerably lower. For the first time, a spectroscopic quadrupole moment of the 21+ state was measured for an exotic nucleus in this mass region. A detailed comparison is presented with large-scale shell-model and Monte Carlo shell-model calculations.

$T_{1/2} = 53.3$ ms, $9/2^-$ isomeric state in the neutron-deficient isotope, $^{183}$Tl, have been studied using the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source and the Windmill detection setup at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. Clean samples of $^{183}$Tl were produced by selective laser ionization and subsequent mass separation. An internal transition cascade of 356.5–272.2 keV $\gamma$ rays has been identified. Multipolarities of these transitions have been determined by means of simultaneous $\gamma$-ray and conversion-electron spectroscopy. Improved data for the fine structure of the $^{183}$Tl → $^{179}$Au decay were deduced. This involves a 6058 keV $\alpha$-decay transition, which populates a previously unknown state in $^{179}$Au, that is tentatively assigned as a ($9/2^-$). It is interpreted as a coupling of the $1h_{9/2}$ proton-intruder with the excited $0^+$ state in the 178Pt core.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Producing gold at ISOLDE-CERN

The yield of 18 ion beams of radioactive gold nuclei produced in the thick uranium target at ISOLDE (CERN) by 1.4-GeV protons was measured. The production-efficiency dependence on the half-life (efficiency curve) was derived using the in-target production calculations by the FLUKA-CERN code. The irregularities in the efficiency curve for long-lived high-spin gold isomers $(^{187,191,193} \textrm{Au}^m)$ were found. The odd-even staggering (OES) of the mean square charge radii and the kink at $N = 126$ are analyzed within the framework of covariant density functional theory (CDFT), with comparisons between different functionals to investigate the dependence of the results on the underlying single-particle structure. The observed features are defined predominantly in the particle-hole channel in CDFT, since both are present in the calculations without pairing. However, the magnitude of the kink is still affected by the occupation of the $1i_{11/2}$ and $2g_{9/2}$ orbitals with a dependence on the relative energies as well as pairing.

Goodacre, T. New and improved data on complex fine-structure α decays of the three isotopes were deduced, providing insight into the low-lying levels in the daughter nuclei $^{172,173,175}$Ir. New information on the properties of β-decay daughter products $^{177,179}$Pt was also obtained. From the first in-source laser spectroscopy measurements of the hyperfine structure in the atomic 267.6-nm transition of 176Au, the nuclear magnetic moments for both high- and low-spin α-decaying states were deduced. Together with the values determined from the additivity relations, they were used to propose the most probable spins and configurations for both states. The α-decay branching ratios were determined as $b_{\alpha}$ $\left (^{176}\textrm{Au}^{ls}\right)=58(5)$% and $b_{\alpha}$ $(^{176} \textrm{Au}^{hs})=29(5)$%.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Laser-assisted decay spectroscopy and mass spectrometry of $^{178}\mathrm{Au}$

A comprehensive study of the isotope $^{178}$ Au has been made at the CERN-ISOLDE facility, using resonance laser ionization. Two long-lived states in $^{178}$ Au were identified—a low-spin ground state and a high-spin isomer—each of which were produced as pure beams. Using the ISOLTRAP precision Penning trap, the excitation energy of the isomeric state in $^{178}$ Au was determined to be $E$$^{*}$ = 189 ( 14 ) keV . The α -decay fine structure patterns of the two states were studied using the Windmill decay station, providing information on the low-lying states in the daughter nucleus $174$ Ir . Nuclear spin assignments of $I$ ( $^{178}$ Au g ) = ( 2 , 3 ) and I ( $^{178}$ Au $^{m}$ ) = ( 7 , 8 ) are made based on the observed $\beta$ -decay feeding and hyperfine structure intensity patterns. These spin assignments are used for fitting the hyperfine structures of the two states from which values for the magnetic dipole moments are extracted. The extracted moments are compared with calculations using additivity relations to establish the most probable configurations for $^{178}$ Au $^{g,m}$.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Laser spectroscopy of neutron-rich $^{207,208}$Hg isotopes: Illuminating the kink and odd-even staggering in charge radii across the $N=126$ shell closure

The mean-square charge radii of $^{207,208}$Hg ($Z=80, N=127,128$) have been studied for the first time and those of $^{202,203,206}$Hg ($N=122,123,126$) remeasured by the application of in-source resonance-ionization laser spectroscopy at ISOLDE (CERN). The characteristic \textit{kink} in the charge radii at the $N=126$ neutron shell closure has been revealed, providing the first information on its behavior below the $Z=82$ proton shell closure. A theoretical analysis has been performed within relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov and non-relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approaches, considering both the new mercury results and existing lead data. Contrary to previous interpretations, it is demonstrated that both the kink at $N=126$ and the odd-even staggering (OES) in its vicinity can be described predominately at the mean-field level, and that pairing does not need to play a crucial role in their origin. A new OES mechanism is suggested, related to the staggering in the occupation of the different neutron orbitals in odd- and even-$A$ nuclei, facilitated by particle-vibration coupling for odd-$A$ nuclei.

Laser-assisted decay spectroscopy for the ground states of $^{180,182}$Au

A study of the ground states of the laser-ionized and mass-separated odd-odd isotopes $^{180,182}$Au was performed using the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source, Windmill detection setup and ISOLTRAP Multi-Reflection Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer at ISOLDE, CERN. A complex fine-structure α-decay pattern of $^{180}$Au was deduced, providing insight into the low-lying levels in the daughter nucleus $^{176}Ir$. An $α$-decay branching ratio of $b_α$($^{180}$Au)=0.58(10)% and a half-life of $T_{1/2}=7.2(5)$s have also been derived, allowing for the calculation of the reduced α-decay widths and determining the degree of hindrance of respective $α$-decay branches. From complementary first in-source laser spectroscopy measurements of the hyperfine structure in atomic transitions of $^{180,182}$Au, the nuclear magnetic moments of $μ$($^{180}$Au)=−0.83(9)$μ_N$ and $μ$($^{182}$Au)=1.66(9)$μ_N$ were extracted with an inclusion of a correction for the hyperfine anomaly. Based on the observed hyperfine structure patterns, and on the comparison of the measured and calculated $μ$ values, a preferred ground-state spin and parity $I^π(^{180}\textrm{Au}^{gs}=(1^+)$ is proposed, and the earlier assignment of $I^π(^{180}\textrm{Au}^{gs}=(2^+)$ is confirmed. For $^{182}$Au, the most probable proton-neutron Nilsson configuration of $π3/2^−[532]⊗ν5/2^−[512]$ suggests the same proton state as in the heavier deformed odd-odd nuclei $^{180,184}$Au.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Shape coexistence in $^{187}$Au studied by laser spectroscopy

Hyperfine-structure parameters and isotope shift of the 9/2$^−$ isomeric state in $^{187}$Au relative to $^{197}$Au for the 267.6-nm atomic transition have been measured for the first time using the in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy technique. The magnetic dipole moment and change in the mean-square charge radius for this 9/2$^−$ isomer have been deduced. The observed large isomer shift relative to the 1/2$^+$ ground state in $^{187}$Au confirms the occurrence of the shape coexistence in $^{187}$Au proposed earlier from the analysis of the nuclear spectroscopic data and particle plus triaxial rotor calculations. The analysis of the magnetic moment supports the previously proposed 9/2$^−$, 1/2$^−$[541] assignment at moderate prolate deformation for $^{187}$Au$^m$.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Hyperfine anomaly in gold and magnetic moments of ${I}^{\pi}=11/{2}^{-}$ gold isomers

Hyperfine-structure constants for the 6s2S1/2 and 6p2P1/2 atomic states of the Iπ=11/2− gold isomers Aum177,191,193,195 have been measured at CERN-ISOLDE, using the in-source laser resonance-ionization spectroscopy technique. From the measured hyperfine constants the differences between hyperfine anomalies for these atomic states have been deduced. These differential hyperfine anomaly values have been used to determine the 6s-state hyperfine anomaly relative to the stable Au197 with advanced atomic calculations. Magnetic dipole moments for the gold isomers in question have been deduced, taking into account the corresponding relative hyperfine-anomaly values. It has been shown that the commonly used prescription for the extraction of the magnetic moment values for the gold isotopes should be reconsidered. The magnetic moments calculated by this prescription have been reevaluated by properly accounting for the hyperfine anomaly, which is as large as 10% for several gold isotopes.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

α -decay branching ratio of $^{180}\mathrm{ Pt}$

A study of the $^{180}\mathrm{Hg}$ decay chain performed at the CERN-ISOLDE facility has allowed the ground-state–to–ground-state α decay of $^{180}\mathrm{Pt}$ to be investigated. Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments, and changes in the nuclear mean-square charge radii, have been deduced. A large inverse odd-even staggering in radii, which may be associated with the presence of octupole collectivity, has been observed. Namely, the radius of the odd-odd isotope $^{218}$At has been found to be larger than the average of its even-$N$ neighbors, $^{217,219}$At. The discrepancy between the additivity-rule prediction and experimental data for the magnetic moment of $^{218}$At also supports the possible presence of octupole collectivity in the considered nuclei.

<dc:creator These include either alpha-decay tagging or Multi-reflection Time-of-Flight gating to identify the isotopes of interest. The endpoint of the odd-even nuclear shape staggering in mercury was observed directly by measuring for the first time the isotope shifts and hyperfine structures of $^{177-180}$Hg. Changes in the mean-square charge radii for all mentioned isotopes, magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of the odd-A isotopes and arguments in favor of $I = 7/2$ spin assignment for $^{177,179}$Hg were deduced. Experimental results are compared with Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Monte-Carlo Shell Model (MCSM) calculations. DFT calculations with several Skyrme parameterizations predict a large jump in the charge radius around the neutron $N = 104$ mid shell, with an odd-even staggering pattern related to the coexistence of nearly-degenerate oblate and prolate minima. This near-degeneracy is highly sensitive to many aspects of the effective interaction, a fact that renders perfect agreement with experiment out of reach for current functionals. Despite this inherent diffculty, the SLy5s1 and a modified UNEDF1^{SO} parameterization predict a qualitatively correct staggering that is off by two neutron numbers. MCSM calculations of states with the experimental spins and parities show good agreement for both electromagnetic moments and the observed charge radii. A clear mechanism for the origin of shape staggering within this context is identified: a substantial change in occupancy of the proton $\pi h_{9/2}$ and neutron $\nu i_{13/2}$ orbitals.

Palenzuela, Y. These instances are crucial for understanding the components of the nuclear interactions that drive deformation. The mercury isotopes (Z = 80) are a striking example: their close neighbours, the lead isotopes (Z = 82), are spherical and steadily shrink with decreasing N. The even-mass (A = N + Z) mercury isotopes follow this trend. The odd-mass mercury isotopes $^{181,183,185}$Hg, however, exhibit noticeably larger charge radii. Due to the experimental difficulties of probing extremely neutron-deficient systems, and the computational complexity of modelling such heavy nuclides, the microscopic origin of this unique shape staggering has remained unclear. Here, by applying resonance ionization spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and nuclear spectroscopy as far as $^{177}$Hg, we determine $^{181}$Hg as the shape-staggering endpoint. By combining our experimental measurements with Monte Carlo shell model calculations, we conclude that this phenomenon results from the interplay between monopole and quadrupole interactions driving a quantum phase transition, for which we identify the participating orbitals. Although shape staggering in the mercury isotopes is a unique and localized feature in the nuclear chart, it nicely illustrates the concurrence of single-particle and collective degrees of freedom at play in atomic nuclei.

Day Goodacre, of At195–211 have been measured for the first time at CERN-ISOLDE, using the in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy method. The hyperfine structures of isotopes were recorded using a triad of experimental techniques for monitoring the photo-ion current. The Multi-Reflection Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer, in connection with a high-resolution electron multiplier, was used as an ion-counting setup for isotopes that either were affected by strong isobaric contamination or possessed a long half-life; the ISOLDE Faraday cups were used for cases with high-intensity beams; and the Windmill decay station was used for short-lived, predominantly α-decaying nuclei. The electromagnetic moments and changes in the mean-square charge radii of the astatine nuclei have been extracted from the measured hyperfine-structure constants and isotope shifts. This was only made possible by dedicated state-of-the-art large-scale atomic computations of the electronic factors and the specific mass shift of atomic transitions in astatine that are needed for these extractions. By comparison with systematics, it was possible to assess the reliability of the results of these calculations and their ascribed uncertainties. A strong deviation in the ground-state mean-square charge radii of the lightest astatine isotopes, from the trend of the (spherical) lead isotopes, is interpreted as the result of an onset of deformation. This behavior bears a resemblance to the deviation observed in the isotonic polonium isotopes. Cases for shape coexistence have been identified in At197,199, for which a significant difference in the charge radii for ground (9/2−) and isomeric (1/2+) states has been observed.
Ra222−233, were measured with Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) at the ISOLDE facility, CERN. The hyperfine structure of the 7s2S01→7s7pP13 transition was probed, allowing measurement of the magnetic moments, quadrupole moments, and changes in mean-square charge radii. These results are compared to existing literature values, and the new moments and change in mean-square charge radii of Ra231 are presented. Low-resolution laser spectroscopy of the very neutron-rich Ra233 has allowed the isotope shift and relative charge radius to be determined for the first time.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Radium ionization scheme development: The first observed autoionizing states and optical pumping effects in the hot cavity environment

This paper reports on resonance ionization scheme development for the production of exotic radium ion beams with the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS) of the CERN-ISOLDE radioactive ion beam facility. During the study, autoionizing states of atomic radium were observed for the first time. Three ionization schemes were identified, originating from the 7s$^{21}$S^{0}$ atomic ground state. The optimal of the identified ionization schemes involves five atomic transitions, four of which are induced by three resonantly tuned lasers. This is the first hot cavity RILIS ionization scheme to employ optical pumping effects. The details of the spectroscopic studies are described and the new ionization schemes are summarized.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Change in structure between the $I  = 1/2$ states in $^{181}$Tl and $^{177,179}$Au

The first accurate measurements of the $\alpha$-decay branching ratio and half-life of the $I^{\pi}=1/2^+$ ground state in $^{181}$Tl have been made, along with the first determination of the magnetic moments and $I=1/2$ spin assignments of the ground states in $^{177,179}$Au. The results are discussed within the complementary systematics of the reduced $\alpha$-decay widths and nuclear $g$ factors of low-lying, $I^{\pi}=1/2^+$ states in the neutron-deficient lead region. The findings shed light on the unexpected hindrance of the $1/2^+ \rightarrow 1/2^+$ , $^{181}$Tl$^g \rightarrow ^{177}$Au$^g \alpha$ decay, which is explained by a mixing of $\pi 3 s_{1/2}$ and $\pi 2 d_{3/2}$ configurations in $^{177}$Au$^g$ , whilst $^{181}$Tl$^g$ remains a near-pure $\pi 3 s_{1/2}$. This conclusion is inferred from the $g$ factor of $^{177}$Au$^g$ which has an intermediate value between those of $\pi 3 s_{1/2}$ and $\pi 2 d_{3/2}$ states. A similar mixed configuration is proposed for the $I^{\pi} =1/2^+$ ground state of $^{179}$Au. This mixing may provide evidence for triaxial shapes in the ground states in these nuclei.

<dc:creator CERN

This paper presents the results of ionization scheme development for application at the ISOLDE Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS). Two new ionization schemes for mercury are presented: a three-step three-resonance ionization scheme, ionizing via an excitation to a Rydberg level and a three-step two-resonance ionization scheme, with a non-resonant final step to the ionization continuum that corresponded to a factor of four higher ionization efficiency. The efficiency of the optimal mercury ionization scheme was measured, together with the efficiency of a new three-step three resonance ionization scheme for tellurium. The efficiencies of the mercury and tellurium ionization schemes were determined to be 6 % and >18 % respectively.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Changes in mean-squared charge radii and magnetic moments of $^{179–184}$Tl measured by in-source laser spectroscopy

Hyperfine structure and isotope shifts have been measured for the ground and isomeric states in the neutron-deficient isotopes $^{179–184}Tl$ using the 276.9-nm transition. The experiment has been performed at the CERN-Isotope Separator On-Line facility using the in-source resonance-ionization laser spectroscopy technique. Spins for the ground states in $^{179,181,183}Tl$ have been determined as I=1/2. Magnetic moments and changes in the nuclear mean-square charge radii have been deduced. By applying the additivity relation for magnetic moments of the odd-odd Tl nuclei the leading configuration assignments were confirmed. A deviation of magnetic moments for isomeric states in $^{182,184}Tl$ from the trend of the heavier Tl nuclei is observed. The charge radii of the ground states of the isotopes $^{179–184}Tl$ follow the trend for isotonic (spherical) lead nuclei. The noticeable difference in charge radii for ground and isomeric states of $^{183,184}Tl$ has been observed, suggesting a larger deformation for the intruder-based $9/2^−$ and 10− states compared to the ground states. An unexpected growth of the isomer shift for $^{183}Tl$ has been found.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

Shape coexistence studied in ${}^{\mathrm{182,184}}$Hg via the β decay of ${}^{\mathrm{182,184}}$Tl

The ${\beta }^{+}$/EC decay of ${}^{\mathrm{182,184}}$Tl to excited states in the daughter nuclei ${}^{\mathrm{182,184}}$Hg has been investigated at the CERN on-line isotope mass separator facility. In both Tl nuclei two β-decaying states were observed. In the case of (184)Tl, narrow-band laser spectroscopy could be used to disentangle the decay of both isomers. In (182)Hg a precise energy of 335 (1) keV for the ${0}_{2}^{+}$ state was measured together with its feeding from a tentatively proposed ${2}_{3}^{+}$ state at 973 keV. Large conversion coefficients for the ${2}_{2}^{+}\to {2}_{1}^{+}$ transition in ${}^{\mathrm{182,184}}$Hg were measured to be 7.2 (13) and 14.2 (36), respectively, evidencing a strong E0 component.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>

$\alpha$-decay study of $^{182,184}$Tl

α -decay spectroscopy of 182,184 Tl has been performed at the CERN isotope separator on-line ( ISOLDE ) facility. New fi ne-structure α decays have been observed for both isotopes. α -decay branching ratios of 0.089 ( 19 ) %, 0.047 ( 6 ) % and 1.22 ( 30 ) % have been deduced for the ( 10 − ) , ( 7 + ) and ( 2 − ) states respectively in 184 Tl and a lower limit of 0.49% for the α -decay branching ratio of 182 Tl. A new half-life of 9.5 ( 2 ) s for the ( 2 − ) state in 184 Tl and 1.9 ( 1 ) s for the low-spin state in 182 Tl has been deduced. Using α – γ coincidence analysis, multiple γ rays were observed de-exciting levels in 178,18 0 Au fed by 182,184 Tl α decays. The γ transitions connecting these low-lying states in 178,18 0 Au are essential to sort the data and possibly identify bands from in- beam studies in these isotopes. Owing to the complex fi ne-structure α decays and limited knowledge about the structure of the daughter nuclei, only partial level schemes could be constructed for both gold isotopes in the present work. Reduced α -decay widths have been calculated and are compared with values obtained in neighboring odd-A and even-A thallium isotopes. Except for the allowed α decay of the 184 Tl ( 10 − ) state, the other fi ne-structure α decays observed in this study are hindered. This points to strong structural changes between parent thallium and daughter gold isotopes.

<dc:title xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:lang="fr"/> <dc:hasPart xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">['']</dc:hasPart> <dc:hasVersion xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"/>
