die Klassik Stiftung Weimar und die Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel vereinen in ihren Sammlungen über 500 Jahre deutsche Literatur-, Kultur- und Ideengeschichte. Bedeutende spätmittelalterliche und frühneuzeitliche Handschriften bewahrt die Herzog August Bibliothek, rund 1.600 Nach- und Vorlässe von Friedrich Schiller bis zur Gegenwart liegen in Marbach, Weimar hütet die Bestände des UNESCO Weltkulturerbes Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek und die Handschriften im Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv. Um diese Fülle in ihrer Gesamtheit erfahr- und erforschbar zu machen, gründeten die drei Einrichtungen auf Empfehlung des Wissenschaftsrates 2013 den Forschungsverbund MWW. Forschung in MWW findet im Rahmen der Digital Humanities statt, deren Verfahren und Methoden wir nutzen, um neue, modellhafte Lösungen für die Sammlungsforschung und -erschließung zu entwickeln.</span></p> <p><span>Der Forschungsverbund setzt sich das Ziel, zukunftsweisende Impulse für die Zusammenarbeit in der geistes- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Forschung zu liefern. Das Digitale Labor bietet als Kompetenzzentrum ortsunabhängiger, kollaborativer wissenschaftlicher Arbeit innovative Ansätze im Bereich digitaler Forschungsinfrastrukturen zur Datenmodellierung, Langzeitspeicherung und den Digital Humanities an. Zentral ist für den Verbund MWW die intensive Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Partnern: Universitäten, weiteren sammlungsführenden Häusern, Forschungseinrichtungen und Verbänden. Ein Hauptanliegen ist zudem die Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses im Rahmen internationaler Netzwerke.</span></p> <p><span>Diese Website liefert einen Überblick über die erste (2013–2019) sowie die zweite Förderphase (2019–2024).
