It shall be granted<MH5414> you. And what<MH4100> is your wish<MH1246>? Up to half<MH2677> of the kingdom<MH4438> it shall be done<MH6213a>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Then Queen<MH4436> Esther<MH635> replied<MH6030a>, “If<MH518> I have found<MH4672> favor<MH2580> in your sight<MH5869>, O king<MH4428>, and if<MH518> it pleases<MH2895> the king<MH4428>, let my life<MH5315> be given<MH5414> me as my request<MH7596>, and my people<MH5971a> as my wish<MH1246>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>for we have been sold<MH4376>, I and my people<MH5971a>, to be destroyed<MH8045>, killed<MH2026>, and eliminated<MH6>. Now if<MH432> we had only been sold<MH4376> as slaves<MH8198, 5650>, men<MH5650> and women<MH8198>, I would have kept<MH2790b> silent<MH2790b>, because<MH3588> the distress<MH6862b> would not be sufficient<MH7737a> <i>reason</i> to burden<MH5143> the king<MH4428>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Then King<MH4428> Ahasuerus<MH325> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>asked<MH559> Queen<MH4436> Esther<MH635>, “Who<MH4310> is he, and where<MH335> is he, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>who<MH834> would presume<MH4390, 3820> to do<MH6213a> such<MH3651> <i>a thing?</i>” <span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And Esther<MH635> said<MH559>, “A foe<MH6862c> and an enemy<MH340> is this<MH2088> wicked<MH7451a> Haman<MH2001b>!” Then Haman<MH2001b> became terrified<MH1204> before<MH4480, 6440> the king<MH4428> and queen<MH4436>. <p class="hdg">Haman Is Hanged</p><span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>The king<MH4428> then got<MH6965> up<MH6965> in his anger<MH2534> from <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>drinking<MH4960> wine<MH3196> <i>and went</i> into the palace<MH1055> garden<MH1593>; but Haman<MH2001b> stayed<MH5975> to beg<MH1245> for his life<MH5315> from Queen<MH4436> Esther<MH635>, for he saw<MH7200> that harm<MH7463a> had been determined<MH3615> against<MH413> him by the king<MH4428>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/esther/7-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Now when the king<MH4428> returned<MH7725> from the palace<MH1055> garden<MH1593> into the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>place<MH1004> where they had been drinking<MH4960> wine<MH3196>, Haman<MH2001b> was falling<MH5307> on the couch<MH4296> where<MH834, 5921> Esther<MH635> was.
