I initially applied for a <a href="https://www.boots.jobs/support-office/customer-support-centre/">Customer Service Advisor</a> role at Boots, thinking it would be temporary until I decided on my next steps. Nearly 11 years later I am still here! After two years a job came available in Workforce Management (WFM), I decided to go for this role as my strengths are planning and organisation. I worked within WFM as a Realtime Co-Ordinator until 2018 when I was promoted to Assistant Support Services Manager, in this role I was solely responsible for producing the schedules for all the contact centre advisors which would be 600+ staff in peak. In 2022 I applied to be a Business Partner within our Loyalty team, my role was to be the key link between the call centre and other areas of the wider business. Then a job came up within the <a href="https://www.boots.com/healthhub?cm_mmc=bmm-buk-google-ppc-_-no7-_--_-UK_PMAX_No7_Future+Renew_24&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADrIajV5wwQAjto7udJfSDONTf58_&gclid=Cj0KCQjwurS3BhCGARIsADdUH523f3KOCVFiqAaM8Finh6qBCkoCUSy7O7DS9CllmdSGTvalfkkDPAIaAua2EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds">Boots Health Hub</a> as a Commercial Specialist early 2023, it was completely different to anything I had done before, I was intrigued by the digital world and eager to learn about a different area of the business.</p> <h2>What attracted you to your current role?</h2> <p>When I joined the Boots Health Hub it had only been established for around six months, I was excited to be part of something so new and as we are a small team I knew I would have opportunities to help mould and grow the Health Hub. Nothing was set in stone in terms of processes which allowed freedom for us to adapt and adjust.</p> <h2>Can you describe your current role and what a typical day looks like for you?</h2> <p>As Commercial Specialist my main role is to help grow exposure of the Health Hub and expand the estate. I look after the roadmap of conditions and topics which we are planning to cover and I liaise with marketing and category leads to ensure we align and support their plans. There is no typical day as there is always a variety of different tasks such as arranging and attending meetings, gathering insights, checking pages, creating briefs, looking at performance and, identifying opportunities!</p> <div> <img src="" alt="" title="" /> </div> <h2>What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?</h2> <p>Seeing the pages come to life is the best feeling, when you watch the page develop from just an idea to an actual page and get to be part of the whole process. I love being able to identify areas for improvement and be able to make changes. I have the ability to take the lead on projects and have my opinion counted. The most rewarding part though is my team, ‘The Health Hun’s’ – we all support each other and have fun, I enjoy coming into work knowing that I get to work with great people.</p> <h2>How does Boots support your professional growth and development?</h2> <p>One of the standout benefits of working at Boots is the focus on employee development. Many of my managers have helped me identify opportunities for growth that I wouldn’t have thought of. Through the Boots Learning Hub, I’ve completed numerous training courses, including one on line management, which has been essential in both my current and previous roles. I’ve also attended external digital marketing conferences and completed a Digital Marketing Fast Track course, which was fully supported by Boots.</p> <h2>Are there any new skills or experiences you’re hoping to gain?</h2> <p>I am really intrigued by SEO and hope to expand my knowledge over the next year by spending time with the SEO team and looking for relevant courses. I want to also build on my confidence with public speaking, so I am planning to put myself forward for more experience with this when opportunities arise.</p> <h2>What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?</h2> <p>Be open to change and seize opportunities.
