its hide<MH5785>, its flesh<MH1320>, and its blood<MH1818>, with its refuse<MH6569>, shall be burned<MH8313>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And the priest<MH3548> shall take<MH3947> cedar<MH730> wood<MH6086>, hyssop<MH231>, and scarlet<MH8144, 8438> <i>material,</i> and throw<MH7993> it into the midst<MH8432> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>burning<MH8316> heifer<MH6510>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>The priest<MH3548> shall then wash<MH3526> his clothes<MH899b> and bathe<MH7364> his <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>body<MH1320> in water<MH4325>, and afterward<MH310> come<MH935> into the camp<MH4264>; but the priest<MH3548> will be<MH2930> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>unclean<MH2930> until<MH5704> evening<MH6153>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>The one who burns<MH8313> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>the heifer shall also wash<MH3526> his clothes<MH899b> in water<MH4325> and bathe<MH7364> his <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>body<MH1320> in water<MH4325>, and will be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> until<MH5704> evening<MH6153>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Now a man<MH376> who is clean<MH2889> shall gather<MH622> up<MH622> the ashes<MH665> of the heifer<MH6510> and put<MH5117> them outside<MH4480, 2351> the camp<MH4264> in a clean<MH2889> place<MH4725>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>the congregation<MH5712> of the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> shall keep<MH4931> them for water<MH4325> to remove impurity<MH5079>; it is <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>purification<MH2403b> from<MH2403b> sin<MH2403b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And the one who gathers<MH622> the ashes<MH665> of the heifer<MH6510> shall wash<MH3526> his clothes<MH899b> and will be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> until<MH5704> evening<MH6153>; and it shall be a permanent<MH5769> statute<MH2708> for the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> and for the stranger<MH1616> who resides<MH1481a> among<MH8432> them. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>‘The one who touches<MH5060> the dead<MH4191> body<MH4191> of any<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>person<MH5315, 120> will also be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> for seven<MH7651> days<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>That one<MH1931> shall purify<MH2398> himself with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>the water on the third<MH7992> day<MH3117> and on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117>, <i>and then</i> he will be<MH2891> clean<MH2891>; but if<MH518> he does not purify<MH2398> himself on the third<MH7992> day<MH3117> and on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117>, he will not be<MH2891> clean<MH2891>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Anyone<MH3605> who touches<MH5060> a dead<MH4191> body<MH4191>, the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>body<MH5315> of a person<MH120> who<MH834> has died<MH4191>, and does not purify<MH2398> himself, defiles<MH2930> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>tabernacle<MH4908> of the LORD<MH3068>; and that person<MH5315> shall be cut<MH3772> off<MH3772> from Israel<MH3478>. Since<MH3588> the water<MH4325> for impurity<MH5079> was not sprinkled<MH2236b> on him, he will be unclean<MH2931>; his uncleanness<MH2932a> is still<MH5750> on him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>‘This<MH2088> is the law<MH8451> when<MH3588> a person<MH120> dies<MH4191> in a tent<MH168>: everyone<MH3605> who comes<MH935> into the tent<MH168> and everyone<MH3605> who<MH834> is in the tent<MH168> will be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> for seven<MH7651> days<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And every<MH3605> open<MH6605a> container<MH3627>, which<MH834> has<MH369> no<MH369> cover<MH6781b> tied<MH6616> down<MH5921> on<MH5921> it, will be unclean<MH2931>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Also, anyone<MH3605> who<MH834> in the open<MH6440> field<MH7704> touches<MH5060> one<MH2491a> who has been killed<MH2491a> with a sword<MH2719> or<MH176> one who has died<MH4191> <i>naturally,</i> or<MH176> <i>touches</i> a human<MH120> bone<MH6106> or<MH176> a grave<MH6913>, will be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> for seven<MH7651> days<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Then for the unclean<MH2931> <i>person</i> they shall take<MH3947> some<MH4480> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>ashes<MH6083> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>burnt<MH8316> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>purification<MH2403b> from<MH2403b> sin<MH2403b> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>running<MH2416a> water<MH4325> shall be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>added<MH5414> to them in a container<MH3627>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And a clean<MH2889> person<MH376> shall take<MH3947> hyssop<MH231> and dip<MH2881> <i>it</i> in the water<MH4325>, and sprinkle<MH5137a> <i>it</i> on the tent<MH168>, on all<MH3605> the furnishings<MH3627>, on the persons<MH5315> who<MH834> were there<MH8033>, and on the one who touched<MH5060> the bone<MH6106> or<MH176> the one<MH2491a> who was killed<MH2491a> or<MH176> the one who died<MH4191> <i>naturally,</i> or<MH176> the grave<MH6913>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Then the clean<MH2889> <i>person</i> shall sprinkle<MH5137a> on the unclean<MH2931> on the third<MH7992> day<MH3117> and on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117>; and on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117> he shall purify<MH2398> him, and he shall wash<MH3526> his clothes<MH899b> and bathe<MH7364> <i>himself</i> in water<MH4325> and will be<MH2891> clean<MH2891> by evening<MH6153>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>‘But the person<MH376> who<MH834> is<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> and does not purify<MH2398> himself, that person<MH5315> shall be cut<MH3772> off<MH3772> from the midst<MH8432> of the assembly<MH6951>, because<MH3588> he has defiled<MH2930> the sanctuary<MH4720> of the LORD<MH3068>; the water<MH4325> for impurity<MH5079> has not been sprinkled<MH2236b> on him, <i>so</i> he is unclean<MH2931>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/19-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>So it shall be a permanent<MH5769> statute<MH2708> for them.
