first word that comes into our mind related with the letter ז Zayin is the word זכריה Zechariah, who is a prophet that appears in the Kabbalistic books at the end of the Old Testament. The Hebrew name Zechariah starts with ז Zayin. It comes from זכור zehair, “to remember,” and יה Jah, the name of God at the end of the phrase הללו יה Hallelu Jah ("Praise Jah"). Jah is written with י Iod and ה Hei. So, let us remember יה Jah in this lecture. Let us remember the letter י Iod and the letter ה Hei.

We talked very extensively in the lecture ה Hei about the meaning of its left separate line; that line relates to the letter ז Zayin and the letter י Iod, as well. So, let us remember Jah. Let us imitate זכריה Zechar-Jah, because what Zechariah wrote in his book is very beautiful and relates to the topic that we are going to enter.

The letter ז Zayin is similar to the letter ו Vav, which was explained in the previous lecture. The only difference in shape between the letters ז Zayin and ו Vav is where the vertical line protrudes from the Iod.

The letter ו Vav is the number six. The letter ז Zayin is the number seven. So, we are entering into the mysteries of the number seven.

The letter ז Zayin means sword. It is also associated with the tongue. The tongue is a sword -a two-edged sword. In the Book of Revelation we read the following about the Avatar that is riding the white horse, the Kalki Avatar:

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he (Geburah) shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth (in Yesod) the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of (El-Shaddai) Almighty God. – Revelation 19:15

That two-edged sword relates to the letter ז Zayin. The Angel Samael is related with the mystery of Zayin, as you can read in The Zohar.

The Plummet

As a word, זין Zayin is written with three letters: ז Zayin, י Iod and ן final Nun, which is made like a very long ו Vav. Remember that in other lectures we explained that the letter נ Nun is a letter ו vav, but broken on the top and bottom. So, when you write the letter נ Nun at the end of any Hebrew word, you always extend the letter down from the baseline to make ן; and of course in Hebrew this is how you write the end of the word זין Zayin.

If you stack the letters of the word זין Zayin, then you make a long straight line, precisely like a line that holds a plumb bob. A plumb-bob, also called a plummet, is used in order to determine a perfect vertical descent from a given point. It is use in construction.

As you see in the picture by William Blake, Adam is sleeping on the ground, Eve is floating in the air, and the Creator is holding his hand over Eve’s head. We have added a plumb-bob or plummet hung from the fingers of the hand of the Creator; thus, at the very bottom of the feet of Eve is the plummet or plum-bob, which encloses the meaning of what we are talking about in this lecture.

In Kabbalah, י Iod is the tenth letter; it the smallest of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet; it is just a dot. Likewise, in Hebrew, יד Iod is “hand.” So when you read יד Iod, it means hand, and the letter י Iod, which symbolizes the phallus. So, in the picture the Creator holds a plumb bob with his hand; his hand is the Iod.

In that picture, the plummet is related with Eve, which the Creator is forming with the ז Zayin. In other words, what we are saying here is: if you write זין Zayin in a vertical line, you make then a straight line, which is also a fishhook or a fishing rod; this is how the letters of the word Zayin are vertically associated. As you can see, the letter Zayin resembles a fishhook. When arranged vertically, the three letters form a plumb-bob, a fishhook, or a fishing rod; this is why all of these symbols are associated with ז Zayin and with the number seven, which in Hebrew is called Sheba. Today is שבא Sheba, שבת Shabbat, Saturday: the seventh day. So, Sheba, Shabbat, Saturday, the seventh day, relates to the seventh letter, ז Zayin.

Let me explain it better after I read and explain the following from the Book of Proverbs, from the Bible, which everybody reads and believes they understand, yet they do not. The Book of Proverbs (ch.5) states:

My son, hearken unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

When you read the former proverb, you might think that God is talking to somebody who is his son and warning him against a woman. Somebody might say that woman is a whore whom you have to be careful of. This is what the common and ordinary people might understand when they do not know Kabbalah. But when making the right translation of that proverb based upon what we already explained unto you, this is how the proverb should be translated:

My son...

בן Ben is son in Hebrew, yet here it is written בני Beni which means “my son.” This בני Beni is בנ האיר Ben-Haur, “the son of the light,” which is always associated to Tiphereth, the letter Vav as we explained in the previous lecture: דוד David encloses the mystery of Tiphereth and Yesod. So, Beni “my son” is Tiphereth, the Human Soul, and also points to the letter ו Vav. So, it reads,

My son (Tiphereth), hearken to my wisdom (Chokmah).

Now, you might ask, What does “hearken” or “to hear” have to do with Tiphereth? The letter ו Vav, which is Tiphereth, is always associated with the faculty of hearing or listening. So, when you read or listen to the word of God, you have to place your concentration in your ears: that is, in the letter ו Vav.

There is something here that we have to mention about the Nazirite Vow, followed by many Jews in ancient times and today. They leave their hair long on their temples (the sides of the head, by the ears): a curl of hair at each ear. That is a symbol of the letters ו Vav and ז Zayin. If you concentrate and use your imagination, then you see that the head is the letter י Iod. This is why they use the Kippa or the hat or any other cover on top of their head, as a symbol of the letter י Iod, the top of the ו Vav or ז Zayin. The two curls of hair on either side are the extensions of the two letters; both letters have the letter Iod above as their head. The two curls of hair on the flat region on either side of the forehead, symbolize the two cords known in Sanskrit as Ida and Pingala, or in Christianity as Adam and Eve. The two curls of hair enclose the mystery of Od and Obd. As you see, these curls of hair are on the flat region on either side of the forehead, because ו Vav is related to the faculty of listening, while the letter Zayin is related with breathing. Thus, we understand and comprehend that these are the two cords that start from the testicles or ovaries and that entwine around the spinal column to end in the root of the nose. So, obviously, Ida and Pingala, ו Vav and ז Zayin, are connected to the breath. Remember that it is written:

And on the seventh day (seventh letter ז Zayin) God ended his work which he had made… And God… breathed (Zayin is related with breathing) into his nostrils the breath of life; and Adam (who was created on the sixth day, sixth letter, ו Vav) became a living soul. - Genesis 2: 2, 7.

So, everything here is connected to ז Zayin and ו Vav.

An example, in order to comprehend this better and see how breathing and hearing are connected: have you ever flown in an airplane, and experienced plugged ears? What do you do in order to pop your ears? You just hold your breath and close your nostrils and blow the air through your ears, and your ears open. So, here, you see how the ears, which are associated with hearing, are opened with the air of your lungs, and how the ears are associated with the nostrils. So, this is how we understand and comprehend the association of ו Vav and ז Zayin, in order to apprehend what this Book of Proverbs is telling us in these verses of chapter five.

The Woman, Zayin

So it is written,

Hearken to my wisdom (חכמה Chokmah), then incline your ear...

The word that is written אזנ Aleph, Zayin, Nun is ozen, which means “to incline” or “to balance.” Thus it says, “incline to balance your understanding.” Thus, “My son, incline to balance your understanding” means to incline your ו Vav down to Yesod, because the very root of ז Zayin is in Yesod, in sex.

When we study occult anatomy, we understand that the left cord (Ida, ז Zayin), the left side, the left column of the Tree of Life, begins in the pineal gland. In the pineal gland we find the seat of the soul. Here we have the Atom of the Holy Spirit, which in Astrology is called Neptune, in Hebrew is Binah, in Christianity is the Holy Spirit, and in Hindusim is Shiva the Creator. So, in the pineal gland, the Creator controls the sexual glands through the cord called Ida, ז Zayin. In other words, our ז Zayin controls our sexual organs. That is why when we talk about Zayin we have to talk about the sexual organs.

Remember as we explained in the lecture about the letter ה Hei, that on the seventh day when the division of sexes happened, the Creator took ז Zayin out of Adam. So, ז Zayin is associated with the sexual organs, whether masculine or feminine. So:

...incline your Vav to balance your understanding...

Remember that “understanding” is Binah in Hebrew: the Holy Spirit. So: incline to Binah. Hearken to חכמה Chokmah, which is Hebrew for “wisdom,” which is Christ. Incline to Yesod, which is the sephirah where Binah works in us, to balance your understanding, because understanding (Binah) comes from transmutation (Yesod)!

Then it is usually written:

...that thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge [דעת].

The Hebrew actually says:

That thou mayest שמר [shamar, protect against] מזמות [from מזמה mĕzimmah, sexual misconduct], so that thy tongue might keep knowledge.

In other words, by restraining and understanding your lust, you may develop knowledge, that is, your tongue may develop knowledge, דעת Daath. Remember the tongue is also associated with the sword, with ז Zayin – “and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.” (Revelation 1:16)

Sequentially:

For the lips of a strange woman drip as an honeycomb.

It should say:

For the strange tongue squeezes as an honeycomb.

In Hebrew, the verse does not include any word for “woman.” The English word “woman” is added. When you read the Hebrew, there is no Hebrew word Isha; the woman is assumed to be there.

It says “the tongue squeezes.” זור zuwr, Zayin-Vav-Resh, means “to squeeze out” drops as a honeycomb.

Then:

and her (חכה chalaq) fishing rod (חך representing Zayin, Ida) is smoother than שמן [shemen, oil].

So, here the verse is talking about the Ida, the ז Zayin, the fishing rod, which is the left cord. When we transmute our sexual energy, the top of the ז Zayin drips honey. Thus, the word Zayin written vertically is like a fishing rod, smoother than oil. That is the oil of transmutation.

Sequentially:

But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Her end is the letter final Nun, the end of the word Zayin, precisely in Yesod, the sexual organs. Her end, Yesod, is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Can you see the two-edged sword there? So, for the one who transmutes their sexual energy, the letter ז Zayin squeezes out drops as a honeycomb into your head; this is knowledge derived from comprehension of ourselves. It is good. But down in Yesod, be careful, because ז Zayin is as bitter as wormwood, like a two-edged sword, because in Yesod (your sexual organs) you can fornicate or you can transmute. That relates to the meaning of the verse:

Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

So, if you fornicate, if you eat of the forbidden fruit, her steps (your inner ז Zayin or Ida) go down to hell: that is, your energy creates suffering. Therefore, these verses of Proverbs 5 are a warning for those who transmute their sexual energy, those who know the secret of sexual transmutation.

So, let us now, study the book of Zechariah in order to Kabbalistically comprehend what is written in chapter four. It is written:

And the angel who spoke with me returned, and he awakened me as a man who wakes up from his sleep. And he said to me, 'what do you see?’.

The meaning is:

And the Angel (our individual angel or Innermost) who spoke with me returned, and he awakened me [psychologically and spiritually, as a Man in Yetzirah] who wakes up from his sleep. And he said to me, 'What do you see?’

Zechariah means “to remember Jah,” to remember God. Jah is a name of God, a mantra that vibrates in the pineal gland when we are Self-remembering. As Samael Aun Weor explained:

The one who wants to awaken consciousness must practice Self-remembering from moment to moment.

This exercise of being in Self-remembering from moment to moment is in fact an intensive work. - Samael Aun Weor

Here and now we have to remember ourselves, he tells us. Let us remember ourselves time after time, from moment to moment. Thus, it is here, precisely in the pineal gland, where we find the seat of the soul and the seat of Jah (Iod, Hei), the Holy Spirit. To remember Jah is to be a Zechariah, it is to be here and now, attentive, present, all the time.

To be a Zechariah is only possible when you are continually remembering Jah inside of yourself, and when through Initiation your Spirit (your own Angel, your Melek, your Jah) enters into you. Remember that the spinal column is called the Throne of God. So, by means of Initiation, Jah “sits” in your spinal column. When He (Jah) is there, He talks to you (the soul) and says, “What do you see?” and then you awaken. The word uttered by God is Christ, and it enters into you through Initiation.

And lo a voice from [Jah in] heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. – Matthew 3: 7.

This is what we had to comprehend with “And he said to me.”

The Menorah

And then it is stated:

What do you see?

And I said, I saw, and behold [there was] a candelabrum [מנורה mĕnowrah] all of gold [זהב zahab], with its oil-bowl on top of it, and its seven [שבע sheba`] lamps thereon; seven tubes each to the lamps that were on top of it. And [there were] two olive trees [זית zayith] near it; one on the right of the bowl, and one on its left. So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord? And the angel who spoke with me answered, and he said to me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

So, when you read this, you might think that Zechariah is in a temple seeing a candelabrum, which in Hebrew is called a menorah. A menorah has seven lights or flames, and seven pipes that hold the lights or candles on the altar. Nevertheless, the explanation that the Angel gives in Zechariah’s vision is related to our inner parts, those parts which relate to the Man.

The Man is our Innermost, called by St. Paul soma pneumatikon, or “the Heavenly Man.” The Man is our inner Being.

Our inner Being, the Man, has seven bodies.

Malkuth is the physical body

Yesod is the vital body

Hod is the Astral Body

Netzach is the Mental Body

Tiphereth is the Causal Body

Geburah is the Body of the Consciousness, the Soul, the Buddhic Body

Chesed, the Spiritual Body

Those are the Seven Pipes, the Seven Bodies that we have inside. The physical body is the lowest and generally the only one we know, until we awaken consciousness. Those seven bodies are related to the seven pipes, which are the seven spinal columns. Each of the seven bodies has a spinal column.

Each spinal column has seven lights. The seven lights are related with the seven chakras or the seven churches, which the Book of Revelation mentions. When the Angel sits on the throne of God, which is the spinal column, then we see, together with the Angel, the great menorah, which is ourselves:

seven lights: the seven chakras

seven pipes: seven spinal columns, one in each body

The seventh chakra is the chakra Sahasrāra. When it is awakened, it provides superior spiritual vision, polyvoyance, and is connected to the pineal gland. The pineal gland is where the creator holds the plummet, the plumb-bob (the cord Ida), which is related with creation. Thus, through the Sahasrāra chakra is how we understand what Zechariah or saha sraya (Sahasrāra) is seeing.

All of this is associated with the second chapter of Genesis, which states that on the seventh day God rested from all his work which he had made... Esoterically, the following is what should be written in chapter two of Genesis.

Thus, [this is how] the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And [how] on the seventh day Elohim [was capable of] ending his work which he had made; since he rested on the seventh day in order to do all his work which he had made. – Genesis 2:1,2

This means that he did his work through the seventh day, that is, he did his work through the seventh letter, in other words, ז Zayin the feminine aspect. On the seventh day, on Zayin, Elohim rested for all his works which he had made. In other words, the foundation, the base to do all creation, which Elohim did, was based on the letter ז Zayin. Elohim rested on the letter ז Zayin in order to make the whole creation; this is what chapter 2: 3 is saying in synthesis.

And how Elohim blessed the seventh [letter] and sanctified it, because on the seventh [letter, the woman, ז Zayin] he rested for all his work which Elohim created and made. These are the generations of the heavens [the brain] and of the earth [the sexual organ] when they were created in the day [the seventh day, the seven letter, which symbolizes the woman] that Jehovah Elohim [Binah] made the earth and the heavens and every plant of the field before it was in the earth and every herb of the field before it grew, for Jehovah Elohim had not cast rain upon the earth and there was not a man to till the ground [the woman]. – Genesis 2: 4-6

So, here in verse five we see how every seed is already there to be created, but seeds in potentiality. Thus, nothing is created there, because it is written that there was every plant of the field before it was in the earth and every herb of the field before it grew and there was not a man to till the ground, which is the woman. So the man, the letter Vav, was not separated yet from the woman, the letter Zayin, in order to make all this creation that should be created with the seventh letter, which is ז Zayin.

But there went up a mist [sexual feminine creative power] from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground [the womb]. And Jehovah Elohim formed man of the dust [archetypes within his sexual feminine creative power] of the ground [the womb, Adamah], and [through ז Zayin, Elohim] breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and Adam became a living soul [Nephesh Chaiah]. -Genesis 2: 6, 7

The former verses are a simple explanation in synthesis of the first Initiation of Major Mysteries, which explains how everything enters into activity within a man that starts transmuting the sexual energy. It explains how everything that was in potentiality enters into activity on the ground (physicality). So these verses relate to the first Initiation of Major Mysteries, which we attain through our Zayin, through the Shabbath, because without the seventh day we cannot do anything, as it is written: Elohim rested on the seventh day in order to do all his work which he had made. So then this is what is signified by Zechariah’s vision of the Menorah, the seven lamps, the seven pipes, the entire of all of that mystery that we are explaining here.

The Stranger from Babylon

Let us read Zechariah again:

And he [the angel] answered and spoke to me, saying, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel [זרבבל], saying:

These verses of Zechariah 4 are being compared with the verses of Genesis 2, because they relate, since Zechariah is talking about the Law of Seven and the two witnesses, and the second chapter of the book of Genesis also talks about the Law of Seven (seventh day) and the two witnesses Adam and Eve.

The word Zurubabbel, Zerubbabel, or Zorobabel appears in the book of Zechariah, but they do not translate what Zurubabel means.

The word רז Zur means “stranger.” This word can also be written with the letter Vav, as in Zayin-Vav-Resh זור meaning strange woman or stranger; this is how the book of Proverbs mentions it.

זור The letter ז Zayin is Ida, the letter ו Vav is Pingala and the letter ר Resh symbolizes the head, Aur. So the word stranger is related to the two cords, but especially to the left cord which is called Ida. And Babel (בבל) is always associated with Malkuth. That is why the word Babylon appears also there.

Many writers state that the Garden of Eden was in Babylon, which is now Iraq, between the two rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates. The Garden of Eden is where all of the mysteries that we are explaining here occurred with Adam and Eve, between the rivers Euphrates and Tigris. But the rivers mentioned in the Bible are not literal rivers in the physical world. These two rivers are symbolic. In the story of the Garden of Eden there are four rivers: Pison and Gihon are associated with the male sexual power. The Euphrates and Tigris are related with the female sexual power. The whole Garden of Eden is there, amidst these rivers, which I repeat, are in Babylon. So when we read Zurubabbel in that chapter of Zechariah, it is pointing at the Garden of Eden. Remember also that there, in that place, Babylon, is where the tower of Babel was built, which is related to the physical world.

Zurubabbel means “the stranger from Babel,” or “the stranger from Babylon.” This is the translation of Zurubabbel that should be written in the Bible. Who is the stranger of Babylon? The stranger of Babylon is Chokmah incarnated in the physical body (Babylon) of an Initiate, or the power of Christ doing the alchemical work in the beginning, in Babylon. When you start working with sexual transmutation, you begin in Babylon, in your physical body. Your physical body is the base of the tower of Babel, which is Babylon. As it is stated:

Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore [the fallen Zayin] that sitteth upon many [impure] waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman [the fallen Zayin] sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads [seven legions of devils] and ten horns [Klipoth]. And the woman [Lilith] was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead [the mind, top of the tower of Babel] was a name written: Mystery, Babylon [our mundane psyche] the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. - Revelation 17: 1- 5

So, we all are great whores. Yet, Christ starts our purification:

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils. - Luke 8:2

Thus, this is how we understand that Zurubbabel, “the stranger from Babylon,” is Christ, alchemically described in the book of Zechariah.

...this is the word of the Lord to Zurubabbel...

In other words, this is the word the wisdom of the Lord working within you, because you are זור the strange woman in Babylon.

'Not by military force and not by physical strength, but by My spirit,' says the Lord of Hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zurubbabel you sink to a plain! He will bring out the stone of the main architect, with shouts of grace, grace to it.

The explanation of this verse in relation with this lecture is: “this,” which is the first word that the angel utters, This. As you see the word that we wrote there (look at the graphic). “This,” in Hebrew is written with the letters Zayin and Hei (זה), Zah, because the letter ז Zayin sounds like Z in Hebrew. There is also another word for “this” in Hebrew written with ז Zayin in the middle which is ה Hei Zayin Hei (הזה). When you read in Hebrew “this,” the word is addressing the letters Zayin and Hei. Thus, the two letters ז Zayin and ה Hei, which are feminine, are pointing at you, namely, your letter Zayin (the left serpent of the caduceus of Mercury, which is Ida) and the letter Hei which is your physicality. Both letters are pointing at your sexuality. So, “this” is what we have to understand.

This is the mystery of Shemhamephorash, the Word, because all the potentiality - that is, all the archetypes of Shemhamephorash - are in the letter Hei, the sexual force, and they are put into activity through the letter Zayin. So “this is the word of Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei to Zurubabbel, the stranger from Babylon. 'Not by military force and not by physical strength, but by My (Holy) spirit,' says Jehovah Sabbaoth.

Sequentially:

‘Who are you on that great mountain?’

Read literally, it says: ‘Who are you, o great mountain,” but the real meaning is, ‘Who are you on that mountain?’ because in the Tree of Life, the top of the Mountain of Initiation is the sephirah Daath. When you reach that level of Initiation, “who are you on the top of that mountain?” In other words, “what are you doing there in Nirvana?”

Zechariah continues:

In front of the stranger from Babylon you will be removed to the plain.

This means that the Word, which the initiate who is at that height will receive - that is, the incarnation of Christ in Daath -will go down to Malkuth again. Thus, this is how he will be “removed to the plain.” Yet, first you have to climb the Mountain of Initiation, in order to afterwards go down to the plain in order to help humanity.

he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.

He will bring out the stone of the main architect, with shouts of grace, grace to it, that is, he shall bring forth Shemhamephorash, the headstone of the corner with shouts of grace, grace to it.

The headstone is that stone that the builders rejected. That stone is the Lord, but which is placed into activity through ז Zayin. Zechariah continues,

And the word of יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei came unto me, saying...

The English word “and” is just a letter ו Vav in Hebrew. So, through ו Vav (“and”), the Word came unto me. Shemhamephorash is the word that will be, which is יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, the inner God, incarnated in the bodhisattva. In other words, the Word that incarnated within the physicality of that soul was talking to him, saying, go down there to the world Malkuth.

...Zerubbabel's hands founded this house, and his hands shall complete [it], and you shall know that the Lord of Hosts sent me to you.

יד “Hand” in Hebrew is Iod. Remember that hand is Yad or Iod, which also symbolizes the phallus. So, it should be understood like this:

The Iod, the phallus of the stranger from Babylon in Malkuth, has laid the foundation of this house. His Iod, his phallus, shall also finish it, because from Daath, Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei Sabbaoth has sent Shemhamephorash, the Word, unto Tiphereth, and in this you shall know that the Lord of Hosts sent me to you.

So, in other words, in order to finish the building or the temple inside of us, we need to incarnate the Lord, which is the Word (Logos).

For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel.

For who - from that level of Tiphereth or that soul of the day - or, in other words, from who of the day, the sun, Tiphereth. In some of his books, Samael Aun Weor says things like:

Whosoever overcometh will be dressed with white vestures because this one is a Master of the Day... - Samael Aun Weor, The Aquarian Message

Why does he call that Being a “master of the day?” Because in the Tree of Life (Kabbalah) the sephirah Tiphereth is associated with the Sun. So, when thanks to the transmutation through Zayin somebody reaches the level of initiation related to Tiphereth, he becomes “a master of the day.” This is why the Angel says: “For who hath despised the day of small things?” that is, “For whom of the day would despise the smallest of things?” This is how the question should be. In other words, which master of the day will despise the letter י Iod, which is the smallest of all the letters, of all things? The word “despise” is written in Hebrew with ב Beth and ז Zayin: Bez, “despise.” The letter ב Beth is a symbol of a house, which we have to finish, and that the י Iod, the phallus of Zurababbel, started building. Thus, the phallus, the Iod, has to finish it. This means that the whole creation of the man has to be finished by the י Iod. And no one will despise the letter ז Zayin (the plummet) hanging from the Iod, that is, from the hand of Zerubbabel who builds the house of Beresheet. Who will dare to despise the י Iod?

The Initiations of Major Mysteries

...with those seven; they [are] the eyes of יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Here, Zechariah is pointing at the menorah, because when someone reaches the fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries (Tiphereth) and develops all the seven lights of the candelabrum or menorah and all the seven pipes (the seven spinal columns) and reaches the sephirah Chesed, he has all the seven bodies and the seven chakras of each body developed in the level of the initiations of fire. But he then takes the Direct Path and descends in order to sacrifice himself for humanity. So, who at that level will despise the smallest of all things? In other words, he has to work again with his phallus, his Iod, and with the letter Zayin, in order to finish the work. Yet, now that work has to be done through Zurababbel, “the stranger from Babylon.” That stranger from Babylon is Christ incarnated in the physical body.

To understand better, we will say, in other words, that when the master Samael Aun Weor was in Mexico and we were talking with him, he was that stranger from Babylon. The force of Christ was incarnated within his physical body and was doing his work through the phallus, because that is the mystery of sexual magic through the letter ז Zayin, which is the woman, the plummet through which you finish the work, as it is written, For who hath despised the day of small things?

For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel [with] those שבע seven; they [are] the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

For they shall rejoice and shall see the plumb-bob or the plummet, the ז Zayin of the Iod of the stranger from Babylon with those שבע seven eyes of the menorah of Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, which runs to and fro through the spinal medulla of the whole earth (the physical body).

Zechariah states that the seven lights of the menorah are the seven eyes of Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, and the same is written in the book of Revelation. When John the Divine saw the Lord, he saw him like a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne (spinal medulla) and of the four beasts (physical, vital, astral and mental bodies), and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. - Revelation 5: 6

The seven horns are the seven pipes. The seven eyes are the seven chakras, or seven churches related with the spinal column. The fire of the Logos runs to and fro or goes up and down in the spinal column and sees everything within your own individual particular world. Likewise, the Lord also sees through the Initiate the others worlds of other people, because Christ is everything, he is a multiple perfect unity.

And I raised my voice and said to him, What are these two olive trees on the right of the candelabrum and on its left? And I raised my voice a second time and said to him, What are the two olive [זית zayith] branches beside the two golden vats that empty out the gold [זהב zahab] from themselves? And he spoke to me, saying, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord. And he said, These are the two anointed ones who stand before the Lord of all the earth. - Zechariah 4

Zechariah says: ‘Then answered I, and said unto him, What are those olive twigs rising to the right side of the menorah and upon the left side thereof?’

Twigs is written Zayin Iod Tav Iod Mem final (זיתים), which is zitim. So, what are those two olive trees that are side by side to the spinal column? They are Ida and Pingala, Adam and Eve, Od and Obd.

Zechariah continues, saying:

And I responded again and said unto him:

That is to say, Tiphereth responded again and asked Christ.

What [be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden [oil] out of themselves?

What be these two olive twigs by the Iod, the phallus, which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

And he [Shemhamephorash the word] answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord.

Then said he, These [are] the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

Which means, “These are the two offspring of the pure oil of chastity.” Ida and Pingala are the two offspring of the pure oil of chastity rising to measure the height of the Lord of the whole earth (the physical body), because they rise entwined in our spinal column, exactly to measure the height of your Lord, who is in the pineal gland.

The whole vision of Zechariah is about the two twigs or oil branches. In other words, Zechariah is seeing within himself the whole mystery of the incarnation of the Lord after he reached the top of the mountain, the Mountain of Initiation, that we all must do through the letter ז Zayin.

The book of Genesis explains all of that. It explains that everything is in potentiality. When God blows in the nostrils (the ז Zayin) of Adam the breath of life which is Neshamah, then Adam becomes a Nefesh Chaiah, a living soul. This is the way as it is explained in the book of Genesis, that the creator did it. We have explained in other lectures that Neshamah is a spiritual Soul, related with Geburah.

Geburah is on the left side of the Tree of Life. The letter ז Zayin begins in that side, because it is the left side of Binah. Binah is on the left side of the Tree of Life and from there protrudes the lower part of the letter Zayin - Binah being the letter Iod, Zayin’s upper part.

Remember that we explained that the letter א Aleph, which is the breath of God, the wind, the air, is Kether, Chokmah, Binah; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva (three י Iods). Shiva is in the head or the pineal gland; in other words, we will say in synthesis: the head of the letter ז Zayin is the pineal gland, where we find Binah, the Holy Spirit, Neptune, the God of the water, the creator Shiva. And from there, now pointing to י Iod, Binah, the left side of א Aleph, descends the lower part of the letter ז Zayin and ends in Yesod. This is why the creator of Malkuth is in the left side of the Tree of Life, which is Binah coming down from the left column. So Malkuth, which is in the very bottom of the Tree of Life, is the outcome of the left column, the outcome in other words of Zayin. This is why we say that Malkuth is feminine, Eve, and that Zayin relates to it; or as Proverbs states:

But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell (Klipoth).

Yet, the lips of a strange woman (the top, the י Iod of ז Zayin) drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil.

So, be careful, because when you fornicate, ז Zayin’s feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell (Klipoth), because from Malkuth, Ida / Zayin turns down into Klipoth. This is why we have to understand why God said: Sanctify my Sabbath, make the Sabbath holy, which is precisely Sheba (seven in Hebrew) and the Divine Soul, Neshamah. That שבע Sheba (seven in Hebrew) is the seventh letter Zayin, on the left side, which is connected to sexuality. So the sentence “make the Sabbath holy” is pointing to the letter ז Zayin, to the Queen of Sheba / Binah and the Divine Soul, Geburah. We do this by transmuting the sexual energy, because if we do not do that, Zayin’s end becomes as bitter as wormwood.

Now you understand why in Kabbalah, Samael is associated with ז Zayin, because Zayin is the left serpent of the Caduceus of Mercury. In Sanskrit, the left serpent of the Caduceus of Mercury is called Ida and the right is called Pingala. Samael is always associated with Ida, with creation. Zayin is a double-edged sword, and that is why the Angel Samael appears in the following manner in the book of Revelation:

And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he (Geburah) shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth (in Yesod) the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of (El-Shaddai) Almighty God. – Revelation 19:15

Samael smites the nations, because knowledge, wisdom, comes by smiting the ego with the sword (ז Zayin). Zayin also gives us sexual transmutation and purification. Thus, when you start doing your spiritual work in Babylon (your physical body) then a part of Neshamah rises in your spinal column. In other lectures we explained that this fire is what we call Isaac, the son of Abraham. This is how we receive the breath of life - not all of it, but a part of it, which is part of Neshamah, the first fire that rises in the spinal column, the fire of chastity, which becomes the tongue of fire on top: the pineal gland. The whole work is done through the seventh chakra, because the seventh chakra is the Sahasrara chakra, related with the pineal gland, the Soul, with Binah, the Holy Spirit, who controls the sexual organs.

When the Innermost finishes the second Initiation of Major Mysteries, as the book of Genesis 2:8 explains it:

And Jehovah Elohim (Binah) planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

“Eastward in Eden” is Yesod, the sexual force, moving toward the east (Tiphereth) since the West is down in Malkuth. This is why in Eden means, there in Babylon Jehovah Elohim (Binah) planted a garden; Jehovah Elohim did it through ז Zayin from Binah, through the second Initiation of Major Mysteries. In other words, when your Being experiences the second Initiation of Major Mysteries, he experiences all the mysteries of the Garden of Eden, your own particular Garden of Eden, your own vital body, Yesod. This is why Genesis 2:8 states:

And there he put Adam whom he had formed [in the first initiation].

That Adam is not the physical Adam, but the Soul of Adam, which in Buddhism we call the Bodhichitta. There in the vital body, that Soul, that Bodhichitta, which is the outcome of Neshamah, is placed in the vital body, not in the physical body.

And out of the ground (Adamah) made Jehovah Elohim (Binah) to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden, and the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. – Genesis 2: 9

The Garden of Eden is the vital body, the superior aspect of the physical body. Thus, in the midst of that garden, that tetra-dimensional body, is the spinal column, where Jehovah Elohim (Binah) placed the letter ו Vav, which is the Tree of Life. When we talk about the Tree of Life, we talk about the spinal medulla within the physical body, the vital body, or within any of the seven bodies. The spinal medulla is the letter ו Vav. So there in the spinal medulla, in midst of the garden, is where Jehovah Elohim (Binah) planted Adam whom he had formed in the first initiation. Therefore, the roots of Adam are in Yesod, yet his head is on the top, Daath (knowledge), which is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, also in the midst of the garden, which again, is the spinal column.

The Rivers of Eden

In Hebrew, good and evil is טוב ורע Tob and Rah, the two ways that you can move your Zayin, from your own Eve, your own particular feminine sexual force in Malkuth. If you fornicate, then through רע Rah (evil) you separate your ז Zayin from your ו Vav, the Garden of Eden, and you walk into hell, Klipoth, Gehenom. Yet, if you transmute, then you can perform Genesis 2:8, the second Initiation of Major Mysteries, thanks to your ז Zayin. The book of Genesis explains that Jehovah Elohim is making all of this creation thanks to the seventh day, the seventh letter, ז Zayin - in other words, thanks to the woman (Isha), the Goddess.

And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. - Genesis 2: 10-14

Pison and Gihon are related with the masculine forces of creation. Pison represents the sexual seminal forces of creation, and Gihon is related with the sexual powers of the cerebrospinal fluid; these are Od and Obd the two polarities in the male body. The other two rivers are Hidekkel, which is also called Tigris, and Euphrates are related with the feminine forces of creation. Hidekkel or Tigris is related with the sexual seminal forces of creation and Euphrates is related with the sexual powers of the cerebrospinal fluid; these are Od and Obd the two polarities in the female body. Understand, both pairs of rivers were within the androgynous Adam. Androgynous comes from andro, “man,” and gynika, “woman.” The primeval Adam had both polarities within, not yet separated. This is how Genesis explains about the four rivers.

And Jehovah Elohim (Binah) took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And Jehovah Elohim (Binah) commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (which is associated with your Zayin, with Eve, your left side), thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. – Genesis 2: 15-17

Why shall you not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Because Adam himself is the Tree of Life, the Vav, the spinal column. He is life, and represents the whole Tree of Life. Adam is from Yesod (the lower garden) up to Daath (the upper garden), yet Eve (the sexual organ) has the power of ז Zayin. In other words, Eve (Zayin) has the power to take Adam (Vav) out of the garden if Adam (the brain on top of your spinal column) does not control Eve (your sexual organs), if the brain becomes a slave of sex. There is always a battle between brain and sex, sex and brain. The brain has to command sex. When sex controls the brain, then Adam (the brain) is out of Eden. Thus, this is how Eve, sex, takes the brain to hell, because Eve has the power of the seventh day, the seventh letter, Zayin, which is a two-edged sword.

Notwithstanding, the book of Genesis chapter two is telling us how to do the work in a good way. Yes, the second chapter is telling us: this is the way, the good way. We already know the bad way. Everybody here is a fornicator and adulterer, who use the letter ז Zayin in the wrong way, who does not worship the Shabbat, the letter Zayin. Some keep the seventh day as a remembrance, but on that day they fornicate, so they do not sanctify it.

The Four Creatures

And Jehovah Elohim (Binah) said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the אדמה ground [which is Adamah, the physical body; again walking with Zayin eastward from Yesod by means of sexual transmutation, that is, by breathing up the sexual force out of the ground, because ז Zayin is breath] Jehovah Elohim (Binah) formed every חית beast (Chaioth) of the field (which is Yesod where we find all the archetypes. So, every Chaiah-life is formed from Yesod), and every fowl (or every bird) of the air...

It should say “And every Angel that is formed there in Schamayim (heaven),” yet the Bible says: “And every fowl or bird of the air.” In Hebrew, the word רוח Ruach (air) is not written there, but the word שמים Schamayim, which means “heaven,” or “fiery waters.” From Yesod emerge all the angels. In other words, we might say that such fowl is Tiphereth, symbolized by the eagle.

...and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature...

...every נפש חיה Nefesh Chaiah, not חית Chaioth, because Nefesh Chaiah means a divine creation within you. נפש Nefesh means “soul.” So, from your animal soul, Nefesh, you are creating Chaiah, living entities within you. Nefesh Chaiah also refers to those animals which are outside of you.

...that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle...

What is the cattle? It is the Ox. Remember that the ox is a living entity related with the seal of God, related with Neshamah.

...and to the fowl of the שמים air [Schamayim, which is the eagle], and to every beast of the field [the Lion]; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. – Genesis 2: 18-20

In these four symbols - the cattle or the ox, the fowl or the eagle, the beast of the field or the lion, and in Adam who symbolizes Yesod - we see the four creatures of Ezekiel. Those are the four elements that we have to create, in other words we have to create Soul.

The soul is a collection of bodies, vehicles:

created in Hod: the astral body

in Netzach: the mental body

in Tiphereth: the causal body

Those are the three creatures that we are reading about here, Nephesh Chaiah: the cattle, the eagle or the fowl, and the wild beast, which is the lion. This is what we, as Adam, the Soul in Yesod, have to command. People when they read this think that Adam made in Eden, Yesod, has to command the turkey, the chicken and all those birds and cattle and different animals that appeared in the earth, No, Genesis 2:18-20 is referring to Nephesh Chaiah, which relates to the creation of the Soul, which we all have to do.

Chaioth Ha Kadosh are the holy creatures that all of us have to create. But for Adam, there was not found a helpmate for him. This is referring to Adam in Yesod. Eve is still not taken out from him.

And Jehovah Elohim (Binah) caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took (ז Zayin) one of his ribs. [We explained this in the previous lecture in the letter Hei.] And closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which Jehovah Elohim (Binah) had taken from Adam, made he a woman (Isha), and brought her unto Adam. – Genesis 2: 21, 22

So, from one of Adam’s ribs, that is, from Adam’s left side, Jehovah Elohim (Binah) made Eve. Jehovah Elohim (Binah) took ז Zayin out of Adam and he made the woman, meaning, the feminine polarity, because the androgynous Adam had the four rivers, Pison, Gihon, Hidekel and the Euphrates within himself - the two polarities of the male force and the two polarities of the female force. When the androgynous man or Adam was sleeping, Elohim took the two feminine rivers, Zayin, Eve, out of him and he made a woman. He had to take the two polarities of the head and sex out in order to make another being close to him; thus, originally the two feminine polarities were within him.

And (this is why) Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman (Isha), because she (ז the Zayin) was taken out of Man (Ish, the Vav). Therefore shall a man (the male fire) leave his father and his mother (leave his androgynous state), and shall cleave unto his wife (the female fire): and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. – Genesis 2: 23-25

As you see, when you read the second chapter of Genesis, you have to understand that you are reading a recapitulation, in other words, the explanation of the first chapter, because when people read the second chapter, they read it in a different manner. So, the second chapter explains how Jehovah Elohim did the whole work of the first chapter.

Let us comprehend how he did it; he did it through ז Zayin, the seventh letter. So Jehovah Elohim rested on the seventh letter in order to make all of creation. Therefore, you have to respect and worship and make the seventh letter sacred. Albeit, this does not mean that you have to have the seventh letter in your home surrounded with candles, no, no. That seventh letter, Zayin, is the left side of your sexuality, which is connected directly with the sexual organs, whether you are a woman or a man. If you are using your sexual organ in the wrong way, you are not sanctifying Zayin, but you are sending Zayin to hell, to Klipoth.

This is the mystery of that commandment which says:

Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as Jehovah Elohim hath commanded thee. And Jehovah Elohim commanded it when he said: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Zayin), thou shall not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Bathsheba

בת–שבע Bathsheba, the wife of David, comes into my mind. This was explained in the previous lecture. David’s wife was Bathsheba, which means “the daughter of the seven.” The soul, Bath, is the daughter of Sheba, the seven lights of the candelabra, which Zechariah saw in his vision - the seven pipes as well, because God created everything through the seventh letter. Without the seventh letter, Zayin, God cannot create anything, because God is male/female; this is what we have to comprehend and understand and remember. The book of Genesis says that the creator is Jah-Chavah Elohim, which is Jehovah Elohim in English. Who is this Jehovah Elohim? It is the sephirah Binah. Binah does the whole creation, but he is doing it with his wife, the Divine Mother Kundalini, which is represented in the letter Zayin.

What we are explaining here is how Abba, the Father, Jehovah Elohim, did the whole work of Genesis: he did it through his wife (Aima, Eloha) and through his wife he created everything, which is represented in the seventh letter, ז Zayin. Therefore, you have to respect the seventh letter, respect the seventh day. Through the seventh letter, the seventh day, is how you create everything.

In this day and age, there are people who call themselves Pentecostals or whatever other name, who worship the seventh day, meanwhile they are just worshipping a day of the week. They ignore that the seventh day is within them: it is the letter ז Zayin. Do you follow this? Do you understand this? This is the mystery of the seventh letter, which is related with the woman, with Chavah, Eve (the Hei), and with the seven chakras.

Let us comprehend that God creates through the seventh chakra, from the pineal gland down, by controlling Chavah (Eve, the Hei), which is the sexual organs. Jah-Chavah is the name Jah in the head and Chavah in Yesod, sex, Elohim created.

Now let us read the following from the New Testament, from the gospel of Mark, chapter 2: 23-28

And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the Sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the Sabbath day that which is not lawful?

They are accusing the apostles, the disciples of Jesus, of working on the Sabbath day, while they should rest; this, of course, is according to tradition.

And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God (remember the house of God is the body, your own body) in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? This is of course symbol of sexual transmutation.

And he (Jesus) said unto them, The Sabbath (Bathsheba, ז Zayin the seventh letter) was made for man (was made for the Vav), and not man for the Sabbath: Therefore the Son of man (who is Tiphereth, the Vav) is Lord also of the Sabbath (Malkuth).

In other words, the Son of Man, Tiphereth, shall control his sexuality, shall control the seventh letter, and he can pluck out of the letter, that is, to transmute, any time he wants the ears of corn (the sexual seed), because the seventh letter ז was disconnected from the alphabet in order to make the woman, in order to separate the sexes, in order for the sexes to create all this which we are explaining here.

So the woman, in other words, the separation of sexes, was made for the Son of Man, Tiphereth. People sometimes ask, “Why was the woman separated?” Because the soul (Tiphereth) needs to grow up, and for that the soul needs sexual magic in order to build inside of you that which you have to build. This is the why of the necessity of the separation of sexes. If there were no separation of sexes, there could be no creation inside of us.

Remember that God made everything through the seventh day. He rested upon the seventh day of all his work. It doesn’t mean that on the seventh day God said: “Ok, I’m tired from my work and I’m going to sleep now,” although this is what people think. No, “he rested” means that all the work that He did was based on the seventh letter. Moses explains that there in the second chapter of Genesis. He is not telling people to be lazy, to not do anything; do you understand this? It means that if you want to do all what he said in the first chapter of the book of Genesis, you must follow what the second chapter explains, which is that everything that God did was based upon the letter ז Zayin, through the woman, through the Goddess. So, you must do the same. That is why we are the two polarities of the sexes, because you want to become like God, male/female.

The problem is that when the male and the female were separated from each other, as you know, they did not transmute their sexual force. So, ז Zayin sent Adam and Eve to hell, and that is the present case.

Another thing which is very intriguing in the book of Genesis is this:

Be Fruitful

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply [רבה], and replenish the earth, and subdue it: - Genesis 1:28

If you read the former verse of the first chapter, this is not only a commandment to Adam but also to the other Chaiah, the other living souls (Nefesh Chaiah). And this is before the two sexes were separated, a commandment to Adam when he was still androgynous. He says literally: “Bear fruit and multiply.” The Hebrew word רבה that is translated as “multiply” is defined in the dictionary as Rabbi: “master.” So the translation should be:

Be fruitful and be as a Rabbi.

Be fruitful as a master. How do you become a master, a Rabbi? By following the covenant: transmuting your sexual energies through your ז Zayin.

So that is why in the second chapter of the book of Genesis, when Jehovah Elohim is going to separate the two polarities, before doing such operation he calls Adam and says in other words: “We are going to separate the two sexes here, so you can do the work that I do and become like Elohim. But before that, let me warn you: do not eat from the tree (which is ז Zayin) of good and evil, because Zayin can send you to hell. You have to learn how to do it through the good way, as I did it, so be careful. Because if you eat as a beast of the field you will go to hell, you will die; you are warned, ok? Stay there and go to sleep,” and he went to sleep. He took Eve out of him and he says: “I already warned you, that Zayin can send you up or down, ok, bye bye, use your will, you are free to do it.”

So Eve, as Genesis states, has the two forces of the serpent, but this is not related to this topic; we will talk about it in the letter Teth. Now we want to just pointing out this: Adam didn’t become a Rabbi; he didn’t became a master, a master of nature. Of course, in the translations which other translators made, they state, “be fruitful and multiply,” because they did not know Kabbalistic Hebrew, and they were not initiates. When they read the Hebrew, they translate rabba or Rabbi and say, “This is related with procreation,” because somehow multiply is also associated with the word Rabba and they say: this here says grow and multiply. But, why would God say “grow and multiply,” physically, as a commandment, when it is obvious that even if people do not read it, they will multiply anyhow, they will do it; even the animals do it and they do not read the Bible. To multiply is something natural; people feel the instinct of the sexual act and multiply. So why would God say, “Go and multiply?” It would be useless, right? But if we know that through ז Zayin, with the sexual force we can go up or down, then we understand why God said, “Grow and be a Rabbi, a master; be fruitful,” because by their fruits you will know them. A good Tree of Knowledge bears good fruit, but a bad Tree of Knowledge bears bad fruit, or Rah, polluted fruit; this is what should say there.

When we use the sexual force in the wrong way, we use the ז Zayin in the wrong way, we then develop in Klipoth. And this is why we said: We belong to hell. It is not that we are going there; we are already there. We realize that we are in Hell when we start going out of it. The first thing that we have to do is to make the Sabbath holy. But, the Sabbath is not a day of the week, it is your Zayin, the seventh letter, is your Sheba: Bath-Sheba.

All the kings were married to Sheba. David was married to Bathsheba. Solomon was in love with the Queen of Sheba, the queen of the seven or the seventh. These all symbolize the same thing. The Son of Man, who is Tiphereth, is the Lord of Sheba, the lord of Shabbat, because Malkuth was made to be his bride. The separation of sexes was made in order for him to grow up. Tiphereth is your human soul, the Ben, the Son of God. The Beni Elohim are the souls of the Gods. Remember the Invocation of Solomon:

Beni-Elohim, be my brethren in the name of the Son, and by the powers of Sabbaoth!

Questions and Answers

Audience: So you are saying that when Jehovah-Elohim rests on the seventh day, is this like the temple which rests on the two corner stones, relies on it or needs it, the ז Zayin. It’s not like he is taking a day off? Is that what you meant by resting?

Instructor: To give an example: This house, in which we are giving this lecture, on what does it rest, what is its basis? Let me go down to the basement and see: oh, this house is based on stone or rock, very strong, on which it is resting. So when one is reading in the book of Genesis that God rested on the seventh day, it does not mean that he took a nap on the seventh day. Genesis is stating that he rested on the stone of Yesod, related with ז Zayin, sex, in order to make the whole creation. That is what is meant. But when you read literally and you are not an initiate, of course the words “rest” sounds like to have a nap. And then you go and have a nap and say: “On the seventh day I will not work, because God is commanding in the Bible that I should not work in order to do worship.” Yes, we should worship on Sabbath, is true, but, what type of worship? The worship of your own inner God, because the whole work that we have to do rests, is based, is founded upon Zayin, because Zayin is connected to the sexual organs.

ז Zayin indicates Eve, the sexual organs. Vav indicates Adam, the brain. So the whole work that we have to do is to rest upon the seventh letter, on the seventh day, as it is written in the book of Genesis, in order to do the whole work. That is why ז Zayin is related with breathing. You start doing the minor initiations when you transmute your sexual energies, and doing your Pranayama, which is Zayin, breathing, connected to your nostrils. Then you start listening through your Vav (the seven chakras of your spinal medulla) and comprehend the word of God.

The real Master is represented by the Nazarene who follows the Nazirite vow, that is, the Kippah that many religions keep, not only the Jews, but all religions that cover their head with a turban or hat. The Kippah on the head symbolizes the letter Iod; also, the hat symbolizes the letters Iod, Zayin, and Vav united, making the letter Chet. Then you no longer say Iod Hei, but in a master, Iod Chet. The one who is not a master is Iod Hei, since the left line of the Hei is still isolated, but in a master the Zayin, which is the isolated line of the Hei - as we explained in the letter Hei - is united to the head, thus making the letter Chet, which means “life.” Thereafter, the Vav descends through the spinal column and the other Hei is in the sex, thus Iod-Chet-Vav-Hei forms the name Iod-Chavah. The Nazarenes were pointing out that any master was Iod-Chavah. Again, Iod is the head, the turban or the hat, the two Nazirite curls of hair on the flat region on either side of the forehead close to their ears are the two letters Vav and Zayin, which united form the letter Chet; then the letter Vav in their spine and the letter Hei in their sex, meaning, Adam and Eve who are Iod-Chavah, the creator, in other words.

Audience: You indicated that separation of sexes was necessary for creation to take place inside of us. Does that mean that those that lived prior to that separation could not walk the path of initiation?

Instructor: Those who were androgynous were already creators at a certain level, because when you are truly androgynous (not merely by accident of birth), then you have the power of creation through your tongue. In the androgyne, the Zayin works through the tongue; they can create in the same manner as the Gods. Because “in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.” Yet they were not fully developed like the Elohim yet. In order to reach the level of a creator like the Elohim, there is a need to physically separate those Beings that are still not at that level, to separate them and allow them to develop from the bottom and become androgynous as the Elohim. You can have an androgynous physical body, like the Elohim, yet this does not mean that all your inner bodies are like the Elohim. The Adam in Eden was physically androgynous, because he was inheriting the bodies of the Gods. But the Gods said: “You have an androgynous body, but you are not like us spiritually. If you want to become like us, we will separate your androgynous body and teach you how to become like us, like Elohim.” But as you know, still we are trying.

Audience: How does the letter ז Zayin fit into the name Zechariah and Zachariel?

Instructor: Both begin with the letter ז Zayin. Zechariah means “remember Jah,” and Zachariel means “remember God.” Remember, Aleph Lamed, El, means God.

Audience: In Kabbalah, how does the cornerstone relate to ז Zayin?

Instructor: How does Zayin relate to the cornerstone? Through ז Zayin, through the sexual act, you place your stone into activity. In order to put into activity your Zayin, your Ida, your creative power, you need to go into Yesod, which is the cornerstone; which is made active with two polarities.

Audience: The two pillars?

Instructor: Yes, the two pillars. The two pillars of the temple that you see here in the Tree of Life, which we were talking about in the other lecture. The right pillar Chokmah, Chesed, Netzach is related with the letter Vav. The left pillar related is with the letter ז Zayin. Both rest on Netzach and Hod respectively, they are established on the cubic stone of Yesod, the stone. As a male, you cannot be established on Yesod without your female, neither can the female be established on the stone of Yesod if she has not a male. So we need the two polarities, and that is the cornerstone that the builders rejected. The builders are those religious people who think that they can reach realization without sex. They ignore that sex is rooted in Zayin, and God made everything through the letter Zayin, through the letter seven, through Sheba. Therefore, if you need to finish your work, your whole work as a creation, as a man you need a Sheba, and as a woman you need a David.

Audience: If Zayin relates to Ida, what relates to Pingala?

Instructor: The letter Vav. Adam relates to Pingala. Vav and ז Zayin are the two polarities, the two olive twigs of the temple, which rise and pour the oil on the top of the seventh chakra in order to give light to the seven churches, the seven chakras. These are Ida and Pingala that work in a single person through the nine Initiations of the Minor Mysteries. But if a single person wants to enter into the Major Mysteries, he needs more help from Zayin, he needs a woman. Without the compliment or helpmeet, it is not possible to enter into the Major Mysteries, because the cornerstone is Yesod, the two polarities, sexual organs, which hold the mystery of ז Zayin. This is why you see that all of our problems began when God separated Eve from Adam. But we benefit, if we take advantage of it… The problem is that many men do not respect the woman, because they do not respect their own feminine level, their own feminine part, their own ז Zayin. When you start respecting your Divine Mother in heaven - when you accomplish that commandment that states: “Honor your Father and Mother in heaven,” Adam and Eve, when you start respecting the seventh day, which means the seventh letter, ז Zayin, in your body, by sexually behaving in the right way, then of course you start respecting that aspect that is in front of you, which is your spouse; yet regrettably, we make a mess of ourselves and this is what we are: a mess. We can fix ourselves if we start performing sexual transmutation and following the covenant.

<picture> </picture>

About the author

Gnostic Instructor

The instructors who teach the lectures and courses are volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds.
