class="maruku-mathml"><semantics><mrow><mi>E</mi><mo>=</mo></mrow><annotation encoding="application/x-tex">E = </annotation></semantics></math> <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/MU">MU</a>.</p> <p>More in detail, the <em>Adams-Novikov spectral sequence</em> is a class of <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/spectral+sequences">spectral sequences</a>, which refine the <em><a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/classical+Adams+spectral+sequence">classical Adams spectral sequence</a></em> by replacing <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/ordinary+cohomology">ordinary cohomology</a> with <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/coefficients">coefficients</a> in <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/Fp">Fp</a> by <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/complex+cobordism+cohomology+theory">complex cobordism cohomology theory</a> <a class="existingWikiWord" href="/nlab/show/MU">MU</a>.
