He also measured<MH4058> <a href="#fn">[d]</a>the length<MH753> of the sanctuary, forty<MH705> cubits<MH520>, and the width<MH7341>, twenty<MH6242> cubits<MH520>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-3.htm">3</a>Then he went<MH935> <a href="#fn">[e]</a>inside<MH6441> and measured<MH4058> each side<MH352b> pillar<MH352b> of the doorway<MH6607>, two<MH8147> cubits<MH520>, and the doorway<MH6607>, six<MH8337a> cubits<MH520> high; and the width<MH7341> of the doorway<MH6607>, seven<MH7651> cubits<MH520>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-4.htm">4</a>And he measured<MH4058> its length<MH753>, twenty<MH6242> cubits<MH520>, and the width<MH7341>, twenty<MH6242> cubits<MH520>, before<MH413, 6440> the sanctuary<MH1964>; and he said<MH559> to me, “This<MH2088> is the Most<MH6944> Holy<MH6944> Place<MH6944>.” <a href="/ezekiel/41-5.htm">5</a>Then he measured<MH4058> the wall<MH7023> of the <a href="#fn">[f]</a>temple<MH1004>, six<MH8337a> cubits<MH520>; and the width<MH7341> of the side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763>, four<MH702> cubits<MH520>, all<MH5439> around<MH5439> the house<MH1004> on every<MH5439> side<MH5439>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-6.htm">6</a>The side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763> were in three<MH7969> stories, <a href="#fn">[g]</a>one<MH6763> above<MH413> another<MH6763>, and <a href="#fn">[h]</a>thirty<MH7970> in each<MH6471> story<MH6471>; and <a href="#fn">[i]</a>the side chambers extended<MH935> to the wall<MH7023> which<MH834> stood on <a href="#fn">[j]</a>their inward<MH1004> side<MH6763> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>, so that they could be attached<MH270>, but not be attached<MH270> to the wall<MH7023> of the temple<MH1004> itself. <a href="/ezekiel/41-7.htm">7</a>And the side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763> surrounding<MH5437> the temple were<MH7337> wider<MH7337> at each successive<MH4608> story<MH4608>. Because<MH3588> the structure surrounding<MH4141> the temple<MH1004> went upward<MH4605> by stages<MH4605> on all<MH5439> sides<MH5439> of the temple<MH1004>, for<MH5921> that<MH5921, 3651> reason<MH5921, 3651> the width<MH7341> of the temple<MH1004> increased as it went higher<MH4605>; and so<MH3651> one went<MH5927> up<MH5927> from the lowest<MH8481> story to the highest<MH5945a> by way of the <a href="#fn">[k]</a>second<MH8484> story. <a href="/ezekiel/41-8.htm">8</a>I saw<MH7200> also that the house<MH1004> had a raised<MH1363> <a href="#fn">[l]</a>platform<MH1363> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>; the foundations<MH4145> of the side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763> were a full<MH4393> <a href="#fn">[m]</a>rod<MH7070> of six<MH8337a> <a href="#fn">[n]</a>long<MH679> cubits<MH520> in height. <a href="/ezekiel/41-9.htm">9</a>The <a href="#fn">[o]</a>thickness<MH7341> of the outer<MH2351> wall<MH7023> of the side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763> was five<MH2568> cubits<MH520>. But the free<MH5117> space<MH5117> between<MH1007a> the side<MH6763> chambers<MH6763> belonging to the temple<MH1004> <a href="/ezekiel/41-10.htm">10</a>and the outer chambers<MH3957> was twenty<MH6242> cubits<MH520> in width<MH7341> around<MH5439> the temple<MH1004> on every<MH5439> side<MH5439>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-11.htm">11</a>The <a href="#fn">[p]</a>doorways<MH6607> of the side<MH6763> <a href="#fn">[q]</a>chambers<MH6763> toward the free<MH5117> space<MH5117> consisted of one<MH259> doorway<MH6607> toward<MH1870> the north<MH6828>, and another<MH259> doorway<MH6607> toward the south<MH1864>; and the width<MH7341> of the free<MH5117> space<MH5117, 4725> was five<MH2568> cubits<MH520> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-12.htm">12</a>The building<MH1146> that was in front<MH6440> of the separate<MH1508> area<MH1508> at the side<MH6285> toward<MH1870> the west<MH3220> was seventy<MH7657> cubits<MH520> wide<MH7341>; and the wall<MH7023> of the building<MH1146> was five<MH2568> cubits<MH520> <a href="#fn">[r]</a>thick<MH7341> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>, and its length<MH753> was ninety<MH8673> cubits<MH520>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-13.htm">13</a>Then he measured<MH4058> the temple<MH1004>, a hundred<MH3967> cubits<MH520> long<MH753>; the separate<MH1508> area<MH1508> with the building<MH1140> and its walls<MH7023> were also a hundred<MH3967> cubits<MH520> long<MH753>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-14.htm">14</a>Also the width<MH7341> of the front<MH6440> of the temple<MH1004> and that of the separate<MH1508> <a href="#fn">[s]</a>areas<MH1508> along the east<MH6921> side totaled a hundred<MH3967> cubits<MH520>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-15.htm">15</a>And he measured<MH4058> the length<MH753> of the building<MH1146> <a href="#fn">[t]</a>along<MH413> the front<MH6440> of the separate<MH1508> area<MH1508> behind<MH5921, 310> it, with a <a href="#fn">[u]</a>gallery<MH862a> on each<MH6311> side<MH6311>, a hundred<MH3967> cubits<MH520>; he also measured the inner<MH6442> sanctuary<MH1964> and the porches<MH197> of the courtyard<MH2691a>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-16.htm">16</a>The thresholds<MH5592b>, the <a href="#fn">[v]</a>latticed<MH331> windows<MH2474>, and the <a href="#fn">[w]</a>galleries<MH863b> all<MH5439> around<MH5439> their three<MH7969> stories, opposite<MH5048> the threshold<MH5592b>, were paneled<MH7824> with wood<MH6086> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>, and from the ground<MH776> to the windows<MH2474> (but the windows<MH2474> were covered<MH3680>), <a href="/ezekiel/41-17.htm">17</a>over<MH5921> the entrance<MH6607>, and to the inner<MH6442> house<MH1004>, and on the outside<MH2351>, and on all<MH3605> the wall<MH7023> all<MH5439> around<MH5439> inside<MH6442> and outside<MH2435>, by measurement<MH4060a>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-18.htm">18</a>It was <a href="#fn">[x]</a>carved<MH6213a> with cherubim<MH3742> and palm<MH8561> trees<MH8561>; and a palm<MH8561> tree<MH8561> was between<MH996> cherub<MH3742> and cherub<MH3742>, and every cherub<MH3742> had two<MH8147> faces<MH6440>: <a href="/ezekiel/41-19.htm">19</a>a human<MH120> face<MH6440> toward<MH413> the palm<MH8561> tree<MH8561> on one side<MH6311> and a young<MH3715> lion’s<MH3715> face<MH6440> toward<MH413> the palm<MH8561> tree<MH8561> on the other side<MH6311>; they were <a href="#fn">[y]</a>carved<MH6213a> on all<MH3605> the house<MH1004> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-20.htm">20</a>From the ground<MH776> to above<MH4480, 5921> the entrance<MH6607> cherubim<MH3742> and palm<MH8561> trees<MH8561> were <a href="#fn">[z]</a>carved<MH6213a>, as well as on the wall<MH7023> of the sanctuary<MH1964>. <a href="/ezekiel/41-21.htm">21</a>The doorposts<MH4201> of the sanctuary<MH1964> were square<MH7251>; as for the front<MH6440> of the inner <a href="#fn">[aa]</a>sanctuary<MH6944>, the appearance<MH4758> of one doorpost was like that of the other. <a href="/ezekiel/41-22.htm">22</a>The altar<MH4196> was of wood<MH6086>, three<MH7969> cubits<MH520> high<MH1364>, and its length<MH753> two<MH8147> cubits<MH520>; its corners<MH4740>, its <a href="#fn">[ab]</a>base<MH753>, and its <a href="#fn">[ac]</a>sides<MH7023> were of wood<MH6086>.
