</h2> <ul> <li>The NTKey service is provided by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) to allow you to securely conduct online business with GNWT departments. The NTKey service issues you your NTKey.</li> <li>An NTKey is a unique credential that protects your communications when accessing the GNWT's Online Services.</li> </ul> <p> For more detailed information please refer to the <a href="AB-01">About NTKey</a> page. </p> <li> <h2> <a id="link2"></a>What are the Username and Password rules for NTKey? </h2> <p>Your Username and Password protect your NTKey and should be kept confidential at all times. You should not share them with anyone, including representatives of the Government of the Northwest Territories.</p> <h3>When creating your Username, we recommend that you:</h3> <ul> <li>make your Username easy for you to remember and hard for others to guess;</li> <li>avoid using personal information, such as your name, Social Insurance Number (SIN), mailing address, or email address;</li> <li>always keep your Username secure and do not share it with anyone.</li> </ul> <h3>In addition, your Username must:</h3> <ul> <li>be between eight and sixteen characters;</li> <li>not contain more than seven digits;</li> <li>not contain any special characters (for example: %, #, @).</li> </ul> <p>We recommend that your Username have a combination of both letters and digits.</p> <h3>When creating your Password, we recommend that you:</h3> <ul> <li>make your Password easy for you to remember and hard for others to guess;</li> <li>avoid using personal information, such as your name, Social Insurance Number (SIN), mailing address, or email address;</li> <li>always keep your Password secure and do not share it with anyone.</li> </ul> <h3>In addition, your Password must:</h3> <ul> <li>be between eight and sixteen characters;</li> <li>contain at least one upper case letter;</li> <li>contain at least one lower case letter;</li> <li>also contain at least one digit.</li> </ul> <p>Note: Your Password must be different than your Username.</p> <li><h2> <a id="link3"></a>What is my NTKey used for? </h2> <p> Your NTKey is used to access Online Services. First, you must sign up for an NTKey and then enrol with the online government service that you want to access. One NTKey can be used to access multiple Online Services from the GNWT. </p> <p> Please see the <a href="FQ-03">Sign Up and Online Services Enrolment</a> frequently asked questions for more information. </p> <li> <h2> <a id="link4"></a>Can I have more than one NTKey? </h2> <p> Yes. But you only need one NTKey to access all of the GNWT's Online Services. Please see the <a href="FQ-03#link2">What is an Online Service?</a> frequently asked question for more information. </p> <p> <strong>Tip!</strong> If you have more than one NTKey, you will need to remember which NTKey was used to enrol with each service. If you forget, the NTKey service cannot assist you as it does not know which services you access or how many NTKeys you have. </p> <p>One NTKey is recommended for accessing all online services.</p> <li> <h2> <a id="link5"></a>Do I need a different NTKey for every computer I use? </h2> <p>NO. You can use the same NTKey with different computers, provided they are connected to the Internet and use a working browser.</p> <li> <h2> <a id="link6"></a>Does my NTKey expire? </h2> <p>Yes, your NTKey can expire. Our system requires you to use your NTKey at least once every 24 months. If you do not use your NTKey every 24 months, it will expire.
