The game was his first and surely won’t be his last.</p> <p>Ethan Nicholas quit his day job as an engineer at Sun Microsystems the day iShoot reached the number one position at the App Store, raking in $37,000 in a single day, but it wasn’t all easy for Ethan Nicholas.</p> <p>While working as an engineer, he worked on iShoot about eight hours a day. Nicholas had never programmed a game for the iPhone before but he couldn’t afford to purchase books to learn how to write code. It will cover how to use Unity 3D’s game engine to make 2D and 3D games. The course will also cover how to fully utilize other software tools like Gimp and Blender together with Unity to create almost any type of game imaginable. </p> <p>There are some prerequisites:</p> <ul> <li>Programming experience with scripting and gaming</li> <li>Your own Intel based Mac</li> <li>Unity iPhone Publisher trial or full version installed</li> <li>iPhone developer’s SDK installed</li> <li>Gimp and Blender installed</li> </ul> <p>The course will include all class materials, continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments.</p> <p>How much does it cost you say? Well, it depends. There have now been reports that Apple has been negotiating with China Unicom in an attempt to finally bring the iPhone to China. As of yesterday, there have been even more reports that China Mobile wants to cooperate again in a possible attempt to stifle negotiations between Apple and China Unicom.</p> <p>The first reports regarding Apple and China Mobile’s negotiations stated that talks broke down because neither company wanted to give up much control. China Mobile wanted control of the App Store along with a few other demands Apple wouldn’t meet. Apple has started rolling out a <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090215013754/http://www.ifoapplestore.com/db/2009/02/12/apple-plans-major-store-space-reorganization/">new store layout</a> to showcase software instead of hardware and the App Store is following suit.</p> <p>Apple plans to place top 25 games and applications on the iPhone and iPod touch demo units in an effort to showcase what the App Store has to offer.</p> <p>The iPod touch demo units will contain top 25 family games and top 25 children’s games. The applications will be updated monthly to reflect the App Store’s top 25 lists.</p> <p>The iPhone demo units will instead contain the top 25 travel applications and top 25 lifestyle applications. As you can obviously see from the photos above, the casing is said to have a matte black finish instead of the usual glossy surfaces Apple has previously used.</p> <p>The photo also indicates a new and previously unused model number: A1303. The photos are said to originate from an unknown Chinese source.</p> <p>As always, these are only rumors.
