And we are extending our initiatives to rail transport and will also be setting our eyes on maritime shipping. <br><br> We have now undertaken successful trials of trucks powered by hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO) in 10 countries. Given the potential for the production of HVO to compete with important agricultural production, we will in due course be providing certification that all our HVO-powered logistics will be delivered from waste vegetable oils and not from primary production. <br><br> Simultaneously, we have been progressing with electric truck trials. In October 2023 our customer KS Service Centre in Moerdijk, Netherlands, received its first delivery of XCarb<sup>®</sup> recycled and renewably produced steel through logistics partner DFDS's fleet of electric trucks. We are now utilising 2 electric trucks per day through DFDS in the Netherlands, being charged with renewable electricity. ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions (AMDS) has also been undertaking e-truck trials in Madrid, Lyon, Halle and Olpe. We started our journey towards greener rail transport in Europe in 2021 through a partnership with DB Cargo, one of the continent’s largest transport groups. Through a framework agreement, DB Cargo offered a green logistics solution called DB Eco Plus (now re-branded Climate+). DB Cargo calculates the energy requirements of specific transport commitments in advance and then purchases the required amount of renewable power.
