Firstly, the temperature feedback signal function is realized by temperature sensor TS503F3950E. Secondly, the main control circuit forms the cycle controlled pulse signal to control the thyristor switching model. Finally two reverse paralleled thyristors regulate the output power by their switching state. In the consequence, this is a modernized and energy-saving domestic electric heating system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Time%20base%20circuit" title="Time base circuit">Time base circuit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=automatic%20control" title=" automatic control"> automatic control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=zero-crossing%0D%0Atrigger" title=" zero-crossing trigger"> zero-crossing trigger</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=temperature%20control." title=" temperature control."> temperature control.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/realization-of-a-temperature-based-automatic-controlled-domestic-electric-boiling-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10006655.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1002</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">94</span> Design of Coal Quality Disturbance Free System for Coordinated Control System Based on Gain Scheduling</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Liu%20Ji-Wei">Liu Ji-Wei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Pei%20Yu-Liang"> Pei Yu-Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Liu%20Qian"> Liu Qian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Han%20Xiang"> Han Xiang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Zeng%20De-Liang"> Zeng De-Liang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The economic and stable operation was affected seriously by coal quality disturbance for power plants. Based on model analysis, influence of the disturbance can be considered as gain change of control system. Power capability coefficient of coal was constructed to inhibit it. The STF was prepared by dispersing submicron SiO2 particles into polyethylene glycol (PEG). Our results indicate that the STF-Kevlar composite possessed lower penetration depth than that of neat Kevlar. In other words, the STF-Kevlar composite can attain the same energy level in stab-resistance test with fewer layers of Kevlar fabrics than that of the neat Kevlar fabrics. It also indicates that STF can be used for the fabrication of flexible body armors and can provide improved protection against stab threats. We found that the stab resistance of the STF-Kevlar composite increases with the increase of SiO2 concentration in STF. Moreover, the silica particles functionalized with silane coupling agent can further improve the stab resistance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=shear%20thickening%20fluid" title="shear thickening fluid">shear thickening fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=SiO2" title=" SiO2"> SiO2</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Kevlar" title=" Kevlar"> Kevlar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=stab" title=" stab"> stab</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/investigation-of-shear-thickening-liquid-protection-fibrous-material" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/6025.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">3293</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">92</span> The Existence of Field Corn Networks on the Thailand-Burma Border under the Patron-Client Contract Farming System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Kettawa%20Boonprakarn">Kettawa Boonprakarn</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Jedsarid%20Sangkaphan"> Jedsarid Sangkaphan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Bejapornd%20Deekhuntod"> Bejapornd Deekhuntod</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Nuntharat%20Suriyo"> Nuntharat Suriyo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>This study aimed to investigate the existence of field corn networks on the Thailand-Burma border under the patron-client contract farming system. Unlike previous investigations, a three-dimensional numerical model for the wave-induced soil response around an offshore pipeline is proposed in this paper. The numerical model was first validated with 2-D experimental data available in the literature. Then, a parametric study will be carried out to examine the effects of wave, seabed characteristics and confirmation of pipeline. Numerical examples demonstrate significant influence of wave obliquity on the wave-induced pore pressures and the resultant seabed liquefaction around the pipeline, which cannot be observed in 2-D numerical simulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Pore%20pressure" title="Pore pressure">Pore pressure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=3D%20wave%20model" title=" 3D wave model"> 3D wave model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=seabed%20liquefaction" title=" seabed liquefaction"> seabed liquefaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=pipeline." title=" pipeline."> pipeline.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/3-d-numerical-model-for-wave-induced-seabed-response-around-an-offshore-pipeline" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009025.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1042</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">79</span> Intrinsic Kinetics of Methanol Dehydration over Al2O3 Catalyst</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Liang%20Zhang">Liang Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hai-Tao%20Zhang"> Hai-Tao Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=W%20ei-Yong%20Ying"> W ei-Yong Ying</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Ding-Ye%20Fang"> Ding-Ye Fang </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Dehydration of methanol to dimethyl ether (DME) over a commercial Al2O3 catalyst was studied in an isothermal integral fixed bed reactor. The experiments were performed on the temperature interval 513-613 K, liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) of 0.9-2.1h-1, pressures between 0.1 and 1.0 MPa. The effect of different operation conditions on the dehydration of methanol was investigated in a laboratory scale experiment. A new intrinsic kinetics equation based on the mechanism of Langmuir-Hinshelwood dissociation adsorption was developed for the dehydration reaction by fitting the expressions to the experimental data. An activation energy of 67.21 kJ/mol was obtained for the catalyst with the best performance. Statistic test showed that this new intrinsic kinetics equation was acceptable. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=catalyst" title="catalyst">catalyst</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=dimethyl%20ether" title=" dimethyl ether"> dimethyl ether</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=intrinsic%20kinetics" title=" intrinsic kinetics"> intrinsic kinetics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=methanol" title=" methanol"> methanol</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/intrinsic-kinetics-of-methanol-dehydration-over-al2o3-catalyst" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10636.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">4657</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">78</span> Geographic Profiling Based on Multi-point Centrography with K-means Clustering</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Jiaji%20Zhou">Jiaji Zhou</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Le%20Liang"> Le Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Long%20Chen"> Long Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>Geographic Profiling has successfully assisted investigations for serial crimes. Numerical experiments presented in this paper illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Discrete%20ill-posed%20problem" title="Discrete ill-posed problem">Discrete ill-posed problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Tikhonov%20regularization" title=" Tikhonov regularization"> Tikhonov regularization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=discrepancy%20principle" title=" discrepancy principle"> discrepancy principle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Arnoldi%20process" title=" Arnoldi process"> Arnoldi process</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=multilevel%20method." title=" multilevel method."> multilevel method.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/multilevel-arnoldi-tikhonov-regularization-methods-for-large-scale-linear-ill-posed-systems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10009769.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">762</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">76</span> Health Risk Assessment in Lead Battery Smelter Factory: A Bayesian Belief Network Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Kevin%20Fong-Rey%20Liu">Kevin Fong-Rey Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Ken%20Yeh"> Ken Yeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Cheng-Wu%20Chen"> Cheng-Wu Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Han-Hsi%20Liang"> Han-Hsi Liang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper proposes the use of Bayesian belief networks (BBN) as a higher level of health risk assessment for a dumping site of lead battery smelter factory. To attain this level, prerequisites were put in place enabling cassava sector to become an industrial and a highly competitive crop. Cameroon can achieve the same results. Moreover, it can upgrade the living conditions of both rural and urban dwellers and stimulate the development of the whole economy. Achieving this outcome calls for agricultural policy reforms. The adoption and implementation of adequate policies go along with efficient strategies. To choose effective strategies, an indepth investigation of the sector-s problems is highly recommended. This paper uses gap analysis method to evaluate cassava sector in Cameroon. It studies the present situation (where it is now), interrogates the future (where it should be) and finally proposes solutions to fill the gap. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Cameroon" title="Cameroon">Cameroon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=cassava%20sector" title=" cassava sector"> cassava sector</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=drivers%20of%20agricultural%0Agrowth" title=" drivers of agricultural growth"> drivers of agricultural growth</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=gap%20analysis." title=" gap analysis."> gap analysis.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/gap-analysis-of-cassava-sector-in-cameroon" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/3023.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">2674</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">74</span> Video Sharing System Based on Wi-Fi Camera</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Qidi%20Lin">Qidi Lin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hewei%20Yu"> Hewei Yu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Jinbin%20Huang"> Jinbin Huang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Weile%20Liang"> Weile Liang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper introduces a video sharing platform based on WiFi, which consists of camera, mobile phone and PC server. The controller employs the concept of duty ratio on the electric valve control, which could make full use of the cooling and dehumidifying capacity of the FCU when the valve is off. The traditional control method and its limitations are analyzed. The hardware and software design processes are introduced in detail. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more energy efficient compared to the traditional controlling strategy. Furthermore, a more comfortable room condition could be achieved by the proposed method. Identification of purified antifungal compound produced by strain LB5 in cell-free supernatant by nuclear magnetic resonance and fast atom bombardment showed that the active compound was iturin A-2. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Iturin%20A-2" title="Iturin A-2">Iturin A-2</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Bacillus%20subtilis%20LB5" title=" Bacillus subtilis LB5"> Bacillus subtilis LB5</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Colleteotrichum%0Agloeospporioides" title=" Colleteotrichum gloeospporioides"> Colleteotrichum gloeospporioides</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Pestalotiopsis%20eugeniae" title=" Pestalotiopsis eugeniae"> Pestalotiopsis eugeniae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=wax%20apple" title=" wax apple"> wax apple</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/inhibition-on-conidial-germination-of-colletotrichum-gloeosporiodes-and-pestalotiopsis-eugeniae-by-bacillus-subtilis-lb5" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/42.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">2260</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">69</span> Surface Flattening based on Linear-Elastic Finite Element Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Wen-liang%20Chen">Wen-liang Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Peng%20Wei"> Peng Wei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yidong%20Bao"> Yidong Bao</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>This paper presents a linear-elastic finite element method based flattening algorithm for three dimensional triangular surfaces. First, an intrinsic characteristic preserving method is used to obtain the initial developing graph, which preserves the angles and length ratios between two adjacent edges. Then, an iterative equation is established based on linear-elastic finite element method and the flattening result with an equilibrium state of internal force is obtained by solving this iterative equation. The results show that complex surfaces can be dealt with this proposed method, which is an efficient tool for the applications in computer aided design, such as mould design.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Triangular%20mesh" title="Triangular mesh">Triangular mesh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=surface%20flattening" title=" surface flattening"> surface flattening</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=finite%20elementmethod" title=" finite elementmethod"> finite elementmethod</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=linear-elastic%20deformation." title=" linear-elastic deformation."> linear-elastic deformation.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/surface-flattening-based-on-linear-elastic-finite-element-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7534.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">3163</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">68</span> Characteristics of Different Solar PV Modules under Partial Shading</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hla%20Hla%20Khaing">Hla Hla Khaing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yit%20Jian%20Liang"> Yit Jian Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Nant%20Nyein%20Moe%20Htay"> Nant Nyein Moe Htay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Jiang%20Fan"> Jiang Fan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>Partial shadowing is one of the problems that are always faced in terrestrial applications of solar photovoltaic (PV). The effects of partial shadow on the energy yield of conventional mono-crystalline and multi-crystalline PV modules have been researched for a long time. With deployment of new thin-film solar PV modules in the market, it is important to understand the performance of new PV modules operating under the partial shadow in the tropical zone. This paper addresses the impacts of different partial shadowing on the operating characteristics of four different types of solar PV modules that include multi-crystalline, amorphous thin-film, CdTe thin-film and CIGS thin-film PV modules.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Partial%20shade" title="Partial shade">Partial shade</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=CdTe" title=" CdTe"> CdTe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=CIGS" title=" CIGS"> CIGS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=multi-crystalline%20%28mc-Si%29" title=" multi-crystalline (mc-Si)"> multi-crystalline (mc-Si)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=amorphous%20silicon%20%28a-Si%29" title=" amorphous silicon (a-Si)"> amorphous silicon (a-Si)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=bypass%20diode." title=" bypass diode. Linear dynamic regression and vector autoregression models are employed to estimate the relationships during the period from 1986 to 2011. The findings of this study suggest that the current and lagged private saving rate and foreign current account for East Asian economies have played a vital role in affecting the U.S. current account. Additionally, using Granger causality tests and variance decompositions, the change of the productivity growth and foreign domestic demand are determined to influence significantly the change of the U.S. current account. To summarize, the empirical relationship between the U.S. current account deficit and its determinants is sensitive to alternative regression models and specifications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Current%20account%20deficit" title="Current account deficit">Current account deficit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=productivity%20growth" title=" productivity growth"> productivity growth</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=foreign%0Ademand" title=" foreign demand"> foreign demand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=vector%20autoregression." title=" vector autoregression."> vector autoregression.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/determinants-of-the-us-current-account" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/7062.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1720</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">66</span> Media Façades in the Wild: Some Lessons</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hai-Ning%20Liang">Hai-Ning Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Xiaowei%20Dai"> Xiaowei Dai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Nancy%20Diniz"> Nancy Diniz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Charles%20Fleming"> Charles Fleming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Woon%20Kian%20Chong"> Woon Kian Chong</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>Media displays in public areas are becoming increasingly pervasive—they are used in many settings, come in different sizes, serve different purposes, and have varied degrees of interactivity. In this paper, we aim to provide a survey of how these displays, often named media façades, are used in the wild in a city in China which is undergoing a rapid growth. This survey is intended to raise greater awareness and discussion about the use and effect of these displays in public areas. Through this survey, we have been able to distill some lessons of what is good, bad, and ugly about some current examples of media displays used in a city that is transitioning into becoming a modern one and one that is located in one of the fastest growing areas in Asia. With this research, we hope that we can provide technology designers and architects with some general principles that can help them integrate these types of technologies into their architectural
