It is taken for a generation that; it is important to analyze which combination of values of the explanatory variables -in an econometric method- would point to the simultaneous achievement of the best values of the response variables. In this case, if a certain degree of conflict is viewed among the response variables, we suggest a multiobjective method in order to the results obtained from a regression analysis. In fact, with the use of a multiobjective method, we will have the best decision about the conflicting relationship between the response variables and the optimal solution. The combined multiobjective programming and econometrics benefit is an assessment of a balanced “optimal” situation among them because a find of information can hardly be extracted just by econometric techniques. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=econometrics" title="econometrics">econometrics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiobjective%20optimization" title=" multiobjective optimization"> multiobjective optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=management%20problem" title=" management problem"> management problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization" title=" optimization"> optimization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167999/finding-optimal-solutions-to-management-problems-with-the-use-of-econometric-and-multiobjective-programming" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167999.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">82</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21</span> A Forearm-Wrist Rehabilitation Module for Stroke and Spinal Cord Injuries</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vahid%20Mehrabi">Vahid Mehrabi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iman%20Sharifi"> Iman Sharifi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20A.%20Talebi"> H. Here, we consider systems in which a square object is submerged in a channel of fluid and moves parallel to the wall. The corresponding added mass at a given distance from the wall d and for the object size s (which is the side of square object) is calculated via lattice Blotzmann simulation . By changing d and s separately, their effect on the added mass is studied systematically. The simulation results reveal that for the systems in which d > 4s, the distance does not influence the added mass any more. The added mass increases when the object approaches the wall and reaches its maximum value as it moves on the wall (d -- > 0). In this case, the added mass is about 73% larger than which of the case d=4s. In addition, it is observed that the added mass increases by increasing of the object size s and vice versa. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lattice%20Boltzmann%20simulation" title="Lattice Boltzmann simulation ">Lattice Boltzmann simulation </a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=added%20mass" title=" added mass"> added mass</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=square" title=" square"> square</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variable%20size" title=" variable size"> variable size</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22399/calculation-of-the-added-mass-of-a-submerged-object-with-variable-sizes-at-different-distances-from-the-wall-via-lattice-boltzmann-simulations" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22399.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">476</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">19</span> Preparation of n-type Bi2Te3 Films by Electrophoretic Deposition</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tahereh%20Talebi">Tahereh Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reza%20Ghomashchi"> Reza Ghomashchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pejman%20Talemi"> Pejman Talemi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sima%20Aminorroaya"> Sima Aminorroaya</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A high quality crack-free film of Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> material has been deposited for the first time using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) and microstructures of various films have been investigated. One of the most important thermoelectric (TE) applications is Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3 </sub>to manufacture TE generators (TEG) which can convert waste heat into electricity targeting the global warming issue. However, the high cost of the manufacturing process of TEGs keeps them expensive and out of reach for commercialization. Therefore, utilizing EPD as a simple and cost-effective method will open new opportunities for TEG&rsquo;s commercialization. This method has been recently used for advanced materials such as microelectronics and has attracted a lot of attention from both scientists and industry. In this study, the effect of media of suspensions has been investigated on the quality of the deposited films as well as their microstructure. In summary, finding an appropriate suspension is a critical step for a successful EPD process and has an important effect on both the film&rsquo;s quality and its future properties. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bi2Te3" title="Bi2Te3">Bi2Te3</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20conductivity" title=" electrical conductivity"> electrical conductivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrophoretic%20deposition" title=" electrophoretic deposition"> electrophoretic deposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermoelectric%20materials" title=" thermoelectric materials"> thermoelectric materials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thick%20films" title=" thick films"> thick films</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58894/preparation-of-n-type-bi2te3-films-by-electrophoretic-deposition" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58894.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">254</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">18</span> FEM Study of Different Methods of Fiber Reinforcement Polymer Strengthening of a High Strength Concrete Beam-Column Connection </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Talebi%20Aliasghar">Talebi Aliasghar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ebrahimpour%20Komeleh%20Hooman"> Ebrahimpour Komeleh Hooman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maghsoudi%20Ali%20Akbar"> Maghsoudi Ali Akbar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In reinforced concrete (RC) structures, beam-column connection region has a considerable effect on the behavior of structures. Using fiber reinforcement polymer (FRP) for the strengthening of connections in RC structures can be one of the solutions to retrofitting this zone which result in the enhanced behavior of structure. In this paper, these changes in behavior by using FRP for high strength concrete beam-column connection have been studied by finite element modeling. The concrete damage plasticity (CDP) model has been used to analyze the RC. The results illustrated a considerable development in load-bearing capacity but also a noticeable reduction in ductility. The study also assesses these qualities for several modes of strengthening and suggests the most effective mode of strengthening. Using FRP in flexural zone and FRP with 45-degree oriented fibers in shear zone of joint showed the most significant change in behavior. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HSC" title="HSC">HSC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beam-column%20connection" title=" beam-column connection"> beam-column connection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fiber%20Reinforcement%20Polymer" title=" Fiber Reinforcement Polymer"> Fiber Reinforcement Polymer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FRP" title=" FRP"> FRP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Finite%20Element%20Modeling" title=" Finite Element Modeling"> Finite Element Modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FEM" title=" FEM"> FEM</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99896/fem-study-of-different-methods-of-fiber-reinforcement-polymer-strengthening-of-a-high-strength-concrete-beam-column-connection" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99896.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">159</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17</span> An Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization for Airport Gate Assignment Problem</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyedmirsajad%20Mokhtarimousavi">Seyedmirsajad Mokhtarimousavi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Danial%20Talebi"> Danial Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hamidreza%20Asgari"> Hamidreza Asgari </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Gate Assignment Problem (GAP) is one of the most substantial issues in airport operation. In principle, GAP intends to maintain the maximum capacity of the airport through the best possible allocation of the resources (gates) in order to reach the optimum outcome. The problem involves a wide range of dependent and independent resources and their limitations, which add to the complexity of GAP from both theoretical and practical perspective. In this study, GAP was mathematically formulated as a three-objective problem. The preliminary goal of multi-objective formulation was to address a higher number of objectives that can be simultaneously optimized and therefore increase the practical efficiency of the final solution. The problem is solved by applying the second version of Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II). Results showed that the proposed mathematical model could address most of major criteria in the decision-making process in airport management in terms of minimizing both airport/airline cost and passenger walking distance time. Moreover, the proposed approach could properly find acceptable possible answers. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=airport%20management" title="airport management">airport management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gate%20assignment%20problem" title=" gate assignment problem"> gate assignment problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mathematical%20modeling" title=" mathematical modeling"> mathematical modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20algorithm" title=" genetic algorithm"> genetic algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NSGA-II" title=" NSGA-II"> NSGA-II</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63467/an-evolutionary-multi-objective-optimization-for-airport-gate-assignment-problem" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63467.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">299</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">16</span> Mechanism of Charge Transport in the Interface of CsSnI₃-FASnI₃ Perovskite Based Solar Cell</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyedeh%20Mozhgan%20Seyed-Talebi">Seyedeh Mozhgan Seyed-Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Weng-Kent%20Chan"> Weng-Kent Chan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hsin-Yi%20Tiffany%20Chen"> Hsin-Yi Tiffany Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Lead-free perovskite photovoltaic (PV) technology employing non-toxic tin halide perovskite absorbers is pivotal for advancing perovskite solar cell (PSC) commercialization. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors induce growth arrest and apoptosis in a variety of human cancer cells. Sodium butyrate (SB) is a short chain fatty acid, belongs to HDAC inhibitors which is released in the colonic lumen as a consequence of fiber fermentation. In this study, we are about to assess the effect of sodium butyrate on HCT116 human colorectal carcinoma cell line. The viability of cells was measured by microscopic morphologic study and MTT assay. After 48 hours, treatments more than 10 mM lead to cell injury in HCT116 by increasing cell granulation and decreasing cell adhesion (p>0.05). After 72 hours, treatments at 10 mM and more lead to significant cell injury (p<0.05). Our results may suggest that the gene expression which is contributed in cell proliferation and apoptosis has been changed under pressure of HDAC inhibition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=colorectal%20cancer" title="colorectal cancer">colorectal cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sodium%20butyrate" title=" sodium butyrate"> sodium butyrate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cytotoxicity" title=" cytotoxicity"> cytotoxicity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MTT" title=" MTT"> MTT</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12514/cytotoxicity-of-a-short-chain-fatty-acid-histone-deactylase-inhibitor-on-hct116-human-colorectal-carcinoma-cell-line" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12514.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">361</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">14</span> Research Study on the Environmental Conditions in the Foreign</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vahid%20Bairami%20Rad">Vahid Bairami Rad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shapoor%20Norazar"> Shapoor Norazar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Moslem%20Talebi%20Asl"> Moslem Talebi Asl </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The fast growing accessibility and capability of emerging technologies have fashioned enormous possibilities of designing, developing and implementing innovative teaching methods in the classroom. Although research studies on children in EFL contexts have increased in recent years, the study of Iranian children negotiating meaning during their communicative task performance still needs further study. The purpose of this study was to investigate young EFL learners' interaction and negotiation of meaning (NoM) during task completion and examine the difference in meaning negotiation between the different proficiency levels and the association between the learners’ proficiency levels and their transfer of knowledge. The participants were twenty-eight young Iranian EFL learners forming 14 proficiency-matched dyads and were assigned into two different groups according to their proficiency levels. The dyads were asked to complete the collaborative task; their interaction was transcribed and analyzed in terms of their NoM. To test the transfer of knowledge to the subsequent performance, tailor-made tests were designed based on the NoM of each individual dyad. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between the learners’ level of proficiency and their transfer of knowledge to the subsequent performance. Our findings suggest that the elementary group had engaged in more negotiation of meaning compared to the intermediate group, and the higher the proficiency level, the better they performed in the post-test and benefited from the NoM. The study has some implications for researchers, teachers, and young learners. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=collaborative%20tasks" title="collaborative tasks">collaborative tasks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=negotiation%20of%20meaning" title=" negotiation of meaning"> negotiation of meaning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proficiency%20levels" title=" proficiency levels"> proficiency levels</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sociocultural%20theory" title=" sociocultural theory"> sociocultural theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tailor-made%20test" title=" tailor-made test"> tailor-made test</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140890/negotiation-of-meaning-among-iranian-efl-learners-and-the-relationship-between-the-proficiency-levels-and-the-transfer-of-knowledge" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140890.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">215</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">12</span> Sub-Lethal Effects of Thiamethoxam and Pirimicarb on Life-Table Parameters of Diaeretiella rapae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), Parasitoid of Lipaphis erysimi (Hemiptera: Aphididae)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nastaran%20Rezaei">Nastaran Rezaei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Saeed%20Mossadegh"> Mohammad Saeed Mossadegh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farhan%20Kocheyli"> Farhan Kocheyli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khalil%20Talebi%20Jahromi"> Khalil Talebi Jahromi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aurang%20Kavousi"> Aurang Kavousi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Integrated Pest Management (IPM) aims to combine biological and chemical strategies and measures, hence highlighting the study of acute toxicity and sub-lethal effects of pesticides comprehensively. The present research focused on the side effects of thiamethoxam and pirimicarb sub-lethal concentrations on demographic parameters of <em>Diaeretiella</em> <em>rapae</em> (McIntosh Laboratory) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae). Adult parasitoids were exposed to LC<sub>25</sub> of insecticides as well as distilled water as the control. The results showed that thiamethoxam adversely affected population parameters (<em>r, &lambda;, R<sub>0</sub>, T</em>), adults&#39; longevity, females&#39; oviposition period and mean fecundity, and a similar trend was obtained for pirimicarb with the exception of generation time (<em>T</em>), the latter did not significantly change compared to the control. The intrinsic rate of increase (<em>r</em>) in the control and those treated with pirimicarb and thiamethoxam were 0.2801, 0.2064, 0.1525 days<sup>-1</sup>, respectively, and the sex ratio was biased toward females in all treatments. Furthermore, none of the insecticides influenced total pre-oviposition period (TPOP) and offspring emergence rate. In general, these results indicated that both insecticides potentially distort the demographic parameters of the parasitoid even at sub-lethal concentrations, and then they should not be considered for IPM program in the presence of <em>D. rapae</em>. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diaeretiella%20rapae" title="Diaeretiella rapae">Diaeretiella rapae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lipaphis%20erysimi" title=" Lipaphis erysimi"> Lipaphis erysimi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life-table%20study" title=" life-table study"> life-table study</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pirimicarb" title=" pirimicarb"> pirimicarb</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thiamethoxam" title=" thiamethoxam"> thiamethoxam</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89685/sub-lethal-effects-of-thiamethoxam-and-pirimicarb-on-life-table-parameters-of-diaeretiella-rapae-hymenoptera-braconidae-parasitoid-of-lipaphis-erysimi-hemiptera-aphididae" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89685.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">192</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">11</span> A Multi-Objective Gate Assignment Model Based on Airport Terminal Configuration</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyedmirsajad%20Mokhtarimousavi">Seyedmirsajad Mokhtarimousavi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Danial%20Talebi"> Danial Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hamidreza%20Asgari"> Hamidreza Asgari</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Assigning aircrafts’ activities to appropriate gates is one the most challenging issues in airport authorities’ multiple criteria decision making. The potential financial loss due to imbalances of demand and supply in congested airports, higher occupation rates of gates, and the existing restrictions to expand facilities provide further evidence for the need for an optimal supply allocation. Passengers walking distance, towing movements, extra fuel consumption (as a result of awaiting longer to taxi when taxi conflicts happen at the apron area), etc. are the major traditional components involved in GAP models. In particular, the total cost associated with gate assignment problem highly depends on the airport terminal layout. The study herein presents a well-elaborated literature review on the topic focusing on major concerns, applicable variables and objectives, as well as proposing a three-objective mathematical model for the gate assignment problem. The model has been tested under different concourse layouts in order to check its performance in different scenarios. Results revealed that terminal layout pattern is a significant parameter in airport and that the proposed model is capable of dealing with key constraints and objectives, which supports its practical usability for future decision making tools. Potential solution techniques were also suggested in this study for future works. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=airport%20management" title="airport management">airport management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=terminal%20layout" title=" terminal layout"> terminal layout</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gate%20assignment%20problem" title=" gate assignment problem"> gate assignment problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mathematical%20modeling" title=" mathematical modeling"> mathematical modeling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77708/a-multi-objective-gate-assignment-model-based-on-airport-terminal-configuration" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77708.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">230</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">10</span> The Efficiency of AFLP and ISSR Markers in Genetic Diversity Estimation and Gene Pool Classification of Iranian Landrace Bread Wheat (Triticum Aestivum L.) Understanding genetic variability among the landrace wheat germplasm is important for breeding. Landraces endemic to Iran are a genetic resource that is distinct from other wheat germplasm. In this study, 60 Iranian landrace wheat accessions were characterized AFLP and ISSR markers. Twelve AFLP primer pairs detected 128 polymorphic bands among the sixty genotypes. The mean polymorphism rate based on AFLP data was 31%; however, a wide polymorphism range among primer pairs was observed (22–40%). Polymorphic information content (PIC value) calculated to assess the informativeness of each marker ranged from 0.28 to 0.4, with a mean of 0.37. According to AFLP molecular data, cluster analysis grouped the genotypes in five distinct clusters. .ISSR markers generated 68 bands (average of 6 bands per primer), which 31 were polymorphic (45%) across the 60 wheat genotypes. Polymorphism information content (PIC) value for ISSR markers was calculated in the range of 0.14 to 0.48 with an average of 0.33. Based on data achieved by ISSR-PCR, cluster analysis grouped the genotypes in three distinct clusters. Both AFLP and ISSR markers able to showed that high level of genetic diversity in Iranian landrace wheat accessions has maintained a relatively constant level of genetic diversity during last years. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wheat" title="wheat">wheat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20diversity" title=" genetic diversity"> genetic diversity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AFLP" title=" AFLP"> AFLP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISSR" title=" ISSR"> ISSR</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32873/the-efficiency-of-aflp-and-issr-markers-in-genetic-diversity-estimation-and-gene-pool-classification-of-iranian-landrace-bread-wheat-triticum-aestivum-l-germplasm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32873.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">451</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9</span> Cell-Based and Exosome Treatments for Hair Restoration</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Armin%20Khaghani%20Boroujeni">Armin Khaghani Boroujeni</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leila%20Dehghani"> Leila Dehghani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Parham%20Talebi%20Boroujeni"> Parham Talebi Boroujeni</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sahar%20Rostamian"> Sahar Rostamian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Asilian"> Ali Asilian</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Hair loss is a common complaint observed in both genders. Androgenetic alopecia is known pattern for hair loss. To assess new regenerative strategies (PRP, A-SC-BT, conditioned media, exosome-based treatments) compared to conventional therapies for hair loss or hair regeneration, an updated review was undertaken. To address this issue, we carried out this systematic review to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy of cell-based therapies on hair loss. Methods: The available online databases, including ISI Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed, were searched systematically up to February 2022. The quality assessment of included studies was done using the Cochrane Collaboration's tool. Results: As a result, a total of 90 studies involving 2345 participants were included in the present study. The enrolled studies were conducted between 2010 and 2022. The subjects’ mean age ranged from 19 to 55.11 years old. Approaches using platelet rich plasma (PRP) provide a beneficial impact on hair regrowth. However, other cell-based therapies, including stem cell transplant, stem cell-derived conditioned medium, and stem cell-derived exosomes, revealed conflicting evidence. Conclusion: However, cell-based therapies for hair loss are still in their infancy, and more robust clinical studies are needed to better evaluate their mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, benefits, and limitations. In this review, we provide the resources to the latest clinical studies and a more detailed description of the latest clinical studies concerning cell-based therapies in hair loss. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cell-based%20therapy" title="cell-based therapy">cell-based therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exosome" title=" exosome"> exosome</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hair%20restoration" title=" hair restoration"> hair restoration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systematic%20review" title=" systematic review"> systematic review</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/147922/cell-based-and-exosome-treatments-for-hair-restoration" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/147922.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">75</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8</span> Electrophoretic Deposition of p-Type Bi2Te3 for Thermoelectric Applications </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tahereh%20Talebi">Tahereh Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reza%20Ghomashchi"> Reza Ghomashchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pejman%20Talemi"> Pejman Talemi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sima%20Aminorroaya"> Sima Aminorroaya </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of p-type Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> material has been accomplished, and a high quality crack-free thick film has been achieved for thermoelectric (TE) applications. TE generators (TEG) can convert waste heat into electricity, which can potentially solve global warming problems. However, TEG is expensive due to the high cost of materials, as well as the complex and expensive manufacturing process. EPD is a simple and cost-effective method which has been used recently for advanced applications. In EPD, when a DC electric field is applied to the charged powder particles suspended in a suspension, they are attracted and deposited on the substrate with the opposite charge. In this study, it has been shown that it is possible to prepare a TE film using the EPD method and potentially achieve high TE properties at low cost. The relationship between the deposition weight and the EPD-related process parameters, such as applied voltage and time, has been investigated and a linear dependence has been observed, which is in good agreement with the theoretical principles of EPD. A stable EPD suspension of p-type Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> was prepared in a mixture of acetone-ethanol with triethanolamine as a stabilizer. To achieve a high quality homogenous film on a copper substrate, the optimum voltage and time of the EPD process was investigated. The morphology and microstructures of the green deposited films have been investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The green Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> films have shown good adhesion to the substrate. In summary, this study has shown that not only EPD of p-type Bi<sub>2</sub>Te<sub>3</sub> material is possible, but its thick film is of high quality for TE applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20conductivity" title="electrical conductivity">electrical conductivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrophoretic%20deposition" title=" electrophoretic deposition"> electrophoretic deposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanical%20property" title=" mechanical property"> mechanical property</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=p-type%20Bi2Te3" title=" p-type Bi2Te3"> p-type Bi2Te3</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seebeck%20coefficient" title=" Seebeck coefficient"> Seebeck coefficient</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermoelectric%20materials" title=" thermoelectric materials"> thermoelectric materials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thick%20films" title=" thick films"> thick films</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54830/electrophoretic-deposition-of-p-type-bi2te3-for-thermoelectric-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54830.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">166</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> DFT and SCAPS Analysis of an Efficient Lead-Free Inorganic CsSnI₃ Based Perovskite Solar Cell by Modification of Hole Transporting Layer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyedeh%20Mozhgan%20Seyed%20Talebi">Seyedeh Mozhgan Seyed Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chih%20-Hao%20Lee"> Chih -Hao Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> With an abrupt rise in the power conservation efficiency (PCE) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) within a short span of time, the toxicity of lead was raised as a major hurdle in the path toward their commercialization. In the present research, a systematic investigation of the electrical and optical characteristics of the all-inorganic CsSnI₃ perovskite absorber layer was performed with the Vienna Ab Initio Simulation Package (VASP) using the projector-augmented wave method. The presence of inorganic halide perovskite offers the advantages of enhancing the degradation resistance of the device, reducing the cost of cells, and minimizing the recombination of generated carriers. The simulated standard device using a 1D simulator like solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS) version 3308 involves FTO/n-TiO₂/CsSnI₃ Perovskite absorber/Spiro OmeTAD HTL/Au contact layer. The variation in the device design key parameters such as the thickness and defect density of perovskite absorber, hole transport layer and electron transport layer and interfacial defects are examined with their impact on the photovoltaic characteristic parameters. The effect of an increase in operating temperature from 300 K to 400 K on the performance of CsSnI3-based perovskite devices is also investigated. The optimized standard device at room temperature shows the highest PCE of 25.18 % with FF of 75.71 %, Voc of 0.96 V, and Jsc of 34.67 mA/cm². The outcomes and interpretation of different inorganic Cu-based HTLs presence, such as CuSCN, Cu₂O, CuO, CuI, SrCu₂O₂, and CuSbS₂, here represent a critical avenue for the possibility of fabricating high PCE perovskite devices made of stable, low-cost, efficient, safe, and eco-friendly all-inorganic materials like CsSnI₃ perovskite light absorber. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CsSnI%E2%82%83" title="CsSnI₃">CsSnI₃</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hole%20transporting%20layer%20%28HTL%29" title=" hole transporting layer (HTL)"> hole transporting layer (HTL)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lead-free%20perovskite%20solar%20cell" title=" lead-free perovskite solar cell"> lead-free perovskite solar cell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SCAPS-1D%20software" title=" SCAPS-1D software"> SCAPS-1D software</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164715/dft-and-scaps-analysis-of-an-efficient-lead-free-inorganic-cssni3-based-perovskite-solar-cell-by-modification-of-hole-transporting-layer" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164715.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">87</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Identification of Blood Biomarkers Unveiling Early Alzheimer&#039;s Disease Diagnosis Through Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Data and Autoencoders</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hediyeh%20Talebi">Hediyeh Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shokoofeh%20Ghiam"> Shokoofeh Ghiam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Changiz%20Eslahchi"> Changiz Eslahchi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Traditionally, Alzheimer’s disease research has focused on genes with significant fold changes, potentially neglecting subtle but biologically important alterations. After quality control, normalization, scaling, batch effect correction, and clustering, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified with adjusted p-values less than 0.05. These DEGs were categorized based on cell-type, resulting in four datasets, each corresponding to a distinct cell type. To distinguish between cells from healthy individuals and those with Alzheimer's, an adversarial autoencoder with a classifier was employed. This allowed for the separation of healthy and diseased samples. To identify the most influential genes in this classification, the weight matrices in the network, which includes the encoder and classifier components, were multiplied, and focused on the top 20 genes. The analysis revealed that while some of these genes exhibit a high fold change, others do not. These genes, which may be overlooked by previous methods due to their low fold change, were shown to be significant in our study. The findings highlight the critical role of genes with subtle alterations in diagnosing Alzheimer's disease, a facet frequently overlooked by conventional methods. These genes demonstrate remarkable discriminatory power, underscoring the need to integrate biological relevance with statistical measures in gene prioritization. This integrative approach enhances our understanding of the molecular mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease and provides a promising direction for identifying potential therapeutic targets. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alzheimer%27s%20disease" title="alzheimer&#039;s disease">alzheimer&#039;s disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single-cell%20RNA-seq" title=" single-cell RNA-seq"> single-cell RNA-seq</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neural%20networks" title=" neural networks"> neural networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blood%20biomarkers" title=" blood biomarkers"> blood biomarkers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179335/identification-of-blood-biomarkers-unveiling-early-alzheimers-disease-diagnosis-through-single-cell-rna-sequencing-data-and-autoencoders" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179335.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">66</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> In vitro Antifungal Activity of Methanolic Extracts of Eight Various Cultivar of Persian Punica granatum L. against Candida Species</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shahindokht%20Bassiri-Jahromi">Shahindokht Bassiri-Jahromi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Reza%20Pourshafie"> Mohammad Reza Pourshafie</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farzad%20Katiraee"> Farzad Katiraee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mannan%20Hajimahmoodi"> Mannan Hajimahmoodi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ehsan%20Mostafavi">Ehsan Mostafavi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Malihe%20Talebi"> Malihe Talebi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objective: Resistance of Candida species to antifungal agents has potentially serious implications for management of infections. Candida species are now fourth common organisms isolated from hospitalized patients. It is important to increase effective therapy. In the past decade, numerous reports of treatment failures were reported. Prevention and control of these infections will require new antimicrobial agents. Plant-derived antifungal have always been a source of novel therapeutics. The aim of this study was to investigate the antifungal effect of methanolic extract of pomegranate peel and pulp against Candida species. Material and Methods: Eight cultivars of Punica granatum L. were collected from Saveh Agricultural Investigation Center in Iran. Both pomegranate pulp and peel were dried and powdered separately. The dried powders were extracted by using a soxhlet extractor. The antifungal effect of methanolic extract of pomegranate peel and pulp were determined in vitro by minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against five standard species of (ATCC 10231), C. parapsilosis (ATCC 22019), C. tropicalis (ATCC 750), C. glabrata (PTCC 5297), and C. kroseii (PTCC 5295). Results: Maximum inhibitions of antifungal effect were attributed to peel extract pomegranate cultivar and Candida species. The most potential antifungal inhibition among 8 different cultivars observed by sour malas, sour white peel, and sour summer extracts respectively, against five Candida strains. The antifungal activity of pulp extracts against Candida species was approximately negative. Conclusion: The use of Punica granatum peel extract has been shown to possess antifungal activities. The phytochemistry and pharmacological actions of Punica granatum peel components suggest a wide range of clinical applications for the treatment and prevention of candidiasis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antifungal%20activity" title="antifungal activity">antifungal activity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Candida%20species" title=" Candida species"> Candida species</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Punica%20granatum%20L." title=" Punica granatum L."> Punica granatum L.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pharmacognosy" title=" pharmacognosy"> pharmacognosy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/26336/in-vitro-antifungal-activity-of-methanolic-extracts-of-eight-various-cultivar-of-persian-punica-granatum-l-against-candida-species" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/26336.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">483</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Lead-Free Inorganic Cesium Tin-Germanium Triiodide Perovskites for Photovoltaic Application</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyedeh%20Mozhgan%20Seyed-Talebi">Seyedeh Mozhgan Seyed-Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javad%20Beheshtian"> Javad Beheshtian</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The toxicity of lead associated with the lifecycle of perovskite solar cells (PSCs<span dir="RTL">(</span> is a serious concern which may prove to be a major hurdle in the path toward their commercialization<span dir="RTL">.</span> The current proposed lead-free PSCs including Ag(I), Bi(III), Sb(III), Ti(IV), Ge(II), and Sn(II) low-toxicity cations are still plagued with the critical issues of poor stability and low efficiency. This is mainly because of their chemical stability. In the present research, utilization of all inorganic CsSnGeI<sub>3</sub> based materials offers the advantages to enhance resistance of device to degradation, reduce the cost of cells, and minimize the carrier recombination. The presence of inorganic halide perovskite improves the photovoltaic parameters of PCSs via improved surface coverage and stability. The inverted structure of simulated devices using a 1D simulator like solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS) version 3308 involves TCOHTL/Perovskite/ETL/Au contact layer. PEDOT:PSS, PCBM, and CsSnGeI<sub>3</sub> used as hole transporting layer (HTL), electron transporting layer (ETL), and perovskite absorber layer in the inverted structure for the first time. The holes are injected from highly stable and air tolerant Sn<sub>0.5</sub>Ge<sub>0.5</sub>I<sub>3</sub> perovskite composition to HTM and electrons from the perovskite to ETL. Simulation results revealed a great dependence of power conversion efficiency (PCE) on the thickness and defect density of perovskite layer. Here the effect of an increase in operating temperature from 300 K to 400 K on the performance of CsSnGeI<sub>3</sub> based perovskite devices is investigated. Comparison between simulated CsSnGeI<sub>3</sub> based PCSs and similar real testified devices with spiro-OMeTAD as HTL showed that the extraction of carriers at the interfaces of perovskite absorber depends on the energy level mismatches between perovskite and HTL/ETL. We believe that optimization results reported here represent a critical avenue for fabricating the stable, low-cost, efficient, and eco-friendly all-inorganic Cs-Sn-Ge based lead-free perovskite devices. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hole%20transporting%20layer" title="hole transporting layer">hole transporting layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lead-free" title=" lead-free"> lead-free</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perovskite%20solar%20cell" title=" perovskite solar cell"> perovskite solar cell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SCAPS-1D" title=" SCAPS-1D"> SCAPS-1D</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sn-Ge%20based" title=" Sn-Ge based"> Sn-Ge based</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129775/lead-free-inorganic-cesium-tin-germanium-triiodide-perovskites-for-photovoltaic-application" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129775.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">155</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Comparison of the Efficacy of Ketamine-Propofol versus Thiopental Sodium-Fentanyl in Procedural Sedation in the Emergency Department: A Randomized Double-Blind Clinical Trial</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maryam%20Bahreini">Maryam Bahreini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mostafa%20Talebi%20Garekani"> Mostafa Talebi Garekani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fatemeh%20Rasooli"> Fatemeh Rasooli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Atefeh%20Abdollahi"> Atefeh Abdollahi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Procedural sedation and analgesia have been desirable to handle painful procedures. The trend to find the agent with more efficacy and less complications is still controversial; thus, many sedative regimens have been studied. This study tried to assess the effectiveness and adverse effects of thiopental sodium-fentanyl with the known medication, ketamine-propofol for procedural sedation in the emergency department. Methods: Consenting patients were enrolled in this randomized double-blind trial to receive either 1:1 ketamine-propofol (KP) or thiopental-fentanyl (TF) 1:1 mg: Mg proportion on a weight-based dosing basis to reach the sedation level of American Society of Anesthesiologist class III/IV. The respiratory and hemodynamic complications, nausea and vomiting, recovery agitation, patient recall and satisfaction, provider satisfaction and recovery time were compared. The study was registered in Iranian randomized Control Trial Registry (Code: IRCT2015111325025N1). Results: 96 adult patients were included and randomized, 47 in the KP group and 49 in the TF group. 2.1% in the KP group and 8.1 % in the TF group experienced transient hypoxia leading to performing 4.2 % versus 8.1 % airway maneuvers for 2 groups, respectively; however, no statistically significant difference was observed between 2 combinations, and there was no report of endotracheal placement or further admission. Patient and physician satisfaction were significantly higher in the KP group. There was no difference in respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and psychiatric adverse events, recovery time and patient recall of the procedure between groups. The efficacy and complications were not related to the type of procedure or patients’ smoking or addiction trends. Conclusion: Ketamine-propofol and thiopental-fentanyl combinations were effectively comparable although KP resulted in higher patient and provider satisfaction. It is estimated that thiopental fentanyl combination can be as potent and efficacious as ketofol with relatively similar incidence of adverse events in procedural sedation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adverse%20effects" title="adverse effects">adverse effects</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=conscious%20sedation" title=" conscious sedation"> conscious sedation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fentanyl" title=" fentanyl"> fentanyl</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=propofol" title=" propofol"> propofol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ketamine" title=" ketamine"> ketamine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=safety" title=" safety"> safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thiopental" title=" thiopental"> thiopental</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77085/comparison-of-the-efficacy-of-ketamine-propofol-versus-thiopental-sodium-fentanyl-in-procedural-sedation-in-the-emergency-department-a-randomized-double-blind-clinical-trial" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77085.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">218</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Recognizing Juxtaposition Patterns of the Dwelling Units in Housing Cluster: The Case Study of Aghayan Complex: An Example of Rural Residential Development in Qajar Era in Iran</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Outokesh%20Fatemeh">Outokesh Fatemeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jourabchi%20Keivan"> Jourabchi Keivan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Talebi%20Maryam"> Talebi Maryam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nikbakht%20Fatemeh"> Nikbakht Fatemeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mayamei is a small town in Iran that is located between Shahrud and Sabzevar cities, on the Silk Road. It enjoys a history of approximately 1000 years. An alley entitled ‘Aghayan’ exists in this town that comprises residential buildings of a famous family. Bathhouse, mosque, telegraph center, cistern are all related to this alley. This architectural complex belongs to Sadat Mousavi, who is one of the Mayamei's major grandees and religious household. The alley after construction has been inherited from generation to generation within the family masters. The purpose of this study, which was conducted on Aghayan alley and its associated complex, was to elucidate Iranian vernacular domestic architecture of Qajar era in small towns and villages. We searched for large, medium, and small architectural patterns in the contemplated complex, and tried to elaborate their evolution from past to the present. The other objective of this project was finding a correlation between changes in the lifestyle of the alley’s inhabitants with the form of the building's architecture. Our investigation methods included: literature review especially in regard to historical travelogues, peer site visiting, mapping, interviewing of the elderly people of the Mousavi family (the owners), and examining the available documents especially the 4 meters’ scroll-type testament of 150 years ago. For the analysis of the aforementioned data, an effort was made to discover (1) the patterns of placing of different buildings in respect of the others, (2) finding the relation between function of the buildings with their relative location in the complex, as was considered in the original design, and (3) possible changes of functions of the buildings during the time. In such an investigation, special attention was paid to the chronological changes of lifestyles of the residents. In addition, we tried to take all different activities of the residents into account including their daily life activities, religious ceremonies, etc. By combining such methods, we were able to obtain a picture of the buildings in their original (construction) state, along with a knowledge of the temporal evolution of the architecture. An interesting finding is that the Aghayan complex seems to be a big structure of the horizontal type apartments, which are placed next to each other. The houses made in this way are connected to the adjacent neighbors both by the bifacial rooms and from the roofs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iran" title="Iran">Iran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qajar%20period" title=" Qajar period"> Qajar period</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vernacular%20domestic%20architecture" title=" vernacular domestic architecture"> vernacular domestic architecture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20style" title=" life style"> life style</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residential%20complex" title=" residential complex"> residential complex</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103356/recognizing-juxtaposition-patterns-of-the-dwelling-units-in-housing-cluster-the-case-study-of-aghayan-complex-an-example-of-rural-residential-development-in-qajar-era-in-iran" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103356.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">161</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Leveraging Power BI for Advanced Geotechnical Data Analysis and Visualization in Mining Projects</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elaheh%20Talebi">Elaheh Talebi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fariba%20Yavari"> Fariba Yavari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lucy%20Philip"> Lucy Philip</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lesley%20Town"> Lesley Town</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The mining industry generates vast amounts of data, necessitating robust data management systems and advanced analytics tools to achieve better decision-making processes in the development of mining production and maintaining safety. This paper highlights the advantages of Power BI, a powerful intelligence tool, over traditional Excel-based approaches for effectively managing and harnessing mining data. Power BI enables professionals to connect and integrate multiple data sources, ensuring real-time access to up-to-date information. Its interactive visualizations and dashboards offer an intuitive interface for exploring and analyzing geotechnical data. Advanced analytics is a collection of data analysis techniques to improve decision-making. Leveraging some of the most complex techniques in data science, advanced analytics is used to do everything from detecting data errors and ensuring data accuracy to directing the development of future project phases. However, while Power BI is a robust tool, specific visualizations required by geotechnical engineers may have limitations. This paper studies the capability to use Python or R programming within the Power BI dashboard to enable advanced analytics, additional functionalities, and customized visualizations. This dashboard provides comprehensive tools for analyzing and visualizing key geotechnical data metrics, including spatial representation on maps, field and lab test results, and subsurface rock and soil characteristics. Advanced visualizations like borehole logs and Stereonet were implemented using Python programming within the Power BI dashboard, enhancing the understanding and communication of geotechnical information. Moreover, the dashboard's flexibility allows for the incorporation of additional data and visualizations based on the project scope and available data, such as pit design, rock fall analyses, rock mass characterization, and drone data. This further enhances the dashboard's usefulness in future projects, including operation, development, closure, and rehabilitation phases. Additionally, this helps in minimizing the necessity of utilizing multiple software programs in projects. This geotechnical dashboard in Power BI serves as a user-friendly solution for analyzing, visualizing, and communicating both new and historical geotechnical data, aiding in informed decision-making and efficient project management throughout various project stages. Its ability to generate dynamic reports and share them with clients in a collaborative manner further enhances decision-making processes and facilitates effective communication within geotechnical projects in the mining industry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geotechnical%20data%20analysis" title="geotechnical data analysis">geotechnical data analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20BI" title=" power BI"> power BI</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization" title=" visualization"> visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decision-making" title=" decision-making"> decision-making</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mining%20industry" title=" mining industry"> mining industry</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168956/leveraging-power-bi-for-advanced-geotechnical-data-analysis-and-visualization-in-mining-projects" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168956.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">92</span> </span> </div> </div> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
