it is of multifactorial origin and is responsible for chronic low back pain. Objectives: Determine an epidemiological profile of patients with painful lumbar degenerative disc disease. Patients and methods: We performed a prospective study of 104 patients operated on for degenerative painful lumbar disc disease over a period of 25 months. The parameters analyzed were: age, sex, Body Mass Index (BMI), comorbidities, family history of low back pain, and difficulty with professional activity. Results: The average age was 43.3 years, with a clear predominance of men: 72 men for 32 women, the average BMI was 26.80Kg / m2, and 63.5% of the patients were overweight. The occurrence of disc degeneration in pathological conditions was noted in 14.4% of cases. The notion of familial low back pain was found in 49% of cases. The majority of patients perform more or less arduous work (51%) in the cases. Conclusion: In our series, degenerative painful lumbar disc disease predominates in the male subject, active obese who performs more or less painful work, in whom we find a family history of low back pain. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=degenerative%20disc%20disease" title="degenerative disc disease">degenerative disc disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20back%20pain" title=" low back pain"> low back pain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=body%20mass%20index" title=" body mass index"> body mass index</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=disque%20intervertebrale" title=" disque intervertebrale"> disque intervertebrale</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155472/epidemiological-profile-of-patients-with-painful-degenerative-lumbar-disc-disease" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155472.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">92</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">187</span> Lumbar Tuberculous Spondylitis in a Child Treated by Posterior Osteosynthesis: Apropos of a Case</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghoul%20Rachid%20Brahim">Ghoul Rachid Brahim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Tuberculous spondylodiscitis is an infection of the spine by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculous spondylodiscitis still remains a topical disease in developing countries and continues to pose a public health problem in endemic countries. Materials and methods: Clinical case: This is a 12-year-old child followed in pediatrics for weight loss and progressively worsening low back pain. The neurological examination found an irritative pyramidal syndrome in both lower limbs with a severe lumbar spinal syndrome. The radiological assessment: (Rx of the spine supplemented by CT and MRI) shows L1L2 spondylodiscitis. Treatment: The child is put on anti-tuberculosis treatment, and the spine is restrained with a corset. Control MRI shows a worsening of the dorsal kyphosis with a backward movement of the posterior wall and spinal cord compression. The child is operated on via the posterior approach (the operative procedure consists of an L1 laminectomy and D11 L3 osteosynthesis). Results: Spinal cord décompression and stabilization of the spine. Conclusion: Tuberculous spondylodiscitis in children remains a rare, aggressive, and progressive condition. The prognosis depends on the diagnosis's precocity and the therapeutic management quality. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tuberculous%20spondylodiscitis" title="tuberculous spondylodiscitis">tuberculous spondylodiscitis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mycobacterium%20tuberculosis" title=" mycobacterium tuberculosis"> mycobacterium tuberculosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laminectomy" title=" laminectomy"> laminectomy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MRI" title=" MRI"> MRI</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160342/lumbar-tuberculous-spondylitis-in-a-child-treated-by-posterior-osteosynthesis-apropos-of-a-case" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160342.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">91</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">186</span> Spinal Hydatidosis: Therapeutic Management of 5 Cases</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghoul%20Rachid%20Brahim">Ghoul Rachid Brahim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Trad%20Khodja%20Rafik"> Trad Khodja Rafik</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Vertebral localization of the hydatid cyst is a severe form of bone hydatidosis, is a parasitic infection caused by the larval forms of the tapeworms Echinococcus granulosus, The disease is slowly remaining silent (a long incubation period) which may explain why this pathology is often discovered at the stage of neurological complications. The objective of this study is to recall the clinical and radiological aspects of this condition and the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate management. We report a study of 5 patients with vertebral hydatidosis, four men and one woman, four (04) patients operated in the emergency setting for spinal cord compression (decompression by wide laminectomy with evacuation of intra and extra canal vesicles).Albendazole-based medical treatment is instituted in all patients. Results: The evolution was favorable for three patients, the other two patients reoperated for a local recurrence. Conclusion: Vertebral hydatidosis is a rare condition with a poor prognosis due to the risk of neurological damage, the infiltrating nature of bone lesions, the frequency of relapses and therapeutic difficulties. The only curative method remains surgery, which must aim for complete and large excision of the lesions as if it were a “malignant tumour”. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydatidosis" title="hydatidosis">hydatidosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Echinococcosis%20granulosus" title=" Echinococcosis granulosus"> Echinococcosis granulosus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydatid%20cyst" title=" hydatid cyst"> hydatid cyst</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spinal%20cord%20compression" title=" spinal cord compression"> spinal cord compression</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laminectomy" title=" laminectomy"> laminectomy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154755/spinal-hydatidosis-therapeutic-management-of-5-cases" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154755.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">97</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">185</span> Place of Surgery in the Treatment of Painful Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghoul%20Rachid%20Brahim">Ghoul Rachid Brahim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Back pain is a real public health problem with a significant socio-economic impact. It is the consequence of a degeneration of the lumbar intervertebral disc (IVD). This often asymptomatic pathology is compatible with an active life. As soon as it becomes symptomatic, conservative treatment is recommended in the majority of cases. The physical or functional disability is resistant to well-monitored conservative treatment, which justifies a surgical alternative which imposes a well-studied reflection on the objectives to be achieved. Objective: Evaluate the indication and short and medium term contribution of surgery in the management of painful degenerative lumbar disc disease. To prove the effectiveness of surgical treatment in the management of painful lumbar degenerative disc disease. Materials and methods: This is a prospective descriptive mono-centric study without comparison group, comprising a series of 104 patients suffering from lumbar painful degenerative disc disease treated surgically. Retrospective analysis of data collected prospectively. Comparison between pre and postoperative clinical status, by pain self-assessment scores and on the impact on pre and postoperative quality of life (3, 6 to 12 months). Results: This study showed that patients who received surgical treatment had great improvements in symptoms, function and several health-related quality of life in the first year after surgery. Conclusions: The surgery had a significantly positive impact on patients' pain, disability and quality of life. Overall, 97% of the patients were satisfied. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=degenerative%20disc%20disease" title="degenerative disc disease">degenerative disc disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intervertebral%20disc" title=" intervertebral disc"> intervertebral disc</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=several%20health-related%20quality" title=" several health-related quality"> several health-related quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lumbar%20painful" title=" lumbar painful"> lumbar painful</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155465/place-of-surgery-in-the-treatment-of-painful-lumbar-degenerative-disc-disease" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155465.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">102</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">184</span> Cranioplasty with Custom Implant Realized Using 3D Printing Technology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Trad%20Khodja%20Rafik">Trad Khodja Rafik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahtout%20Amine"> Mahtout Amine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghoul%20Rachid"> Ghoul Rachid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benbouali%20Amine"> Benbouali Amine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Boulahlib%20Amine"> Boulahlib Amine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hariza%20Abdelmalik"> Hariza Abdelmalik</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cranioplasty with custom implant realized using 3D printing technology. Cranioplasty is a surgical act that aims restoring cranial bone losses in order to protect the brain from external aggressions and to improve the patient aesthetic appearance. This objective can be achieved with taking advantage of the current technological development in computer science and biomechanics. The objective of this paper it to present an approach for the realization of high precision biocompatible cranial implants using new 3D printing technologies at the lowest cost. The proposed method is to reproduce the missing part of the skull by referring to its healthy contralateral part. Once the model is validated by the neurosurgeons, a mold is 3D printed for the production of a biocompatible implant in Poly-Methyl-Methacrylate (PMMA) acrylic cement. Using this procedure four patients underwent this procedure with excellent aesthetic results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cranioplasty" title="cranioplasty">cranioplasty</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cranial%20bone%20loss" title=" cranial bone loss"> cranial bone loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20printing%20technology" title="3D printing technology">3D printing technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=custom-made%20implants" title=" custom-made implants"> custom-made implants</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PMMA" title=" PMMA"> PMMA</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153512/cranioplasty-with-custom-implant-realized-using-3d-printing-technology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153512.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">111</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">183</span> Steady and Oscillatory States of Swirling Flows under an Axial Magnetic Field</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahim%20Mahfoud">Brahim Mahfoud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Bessa%C3%AFh"> Rachid Bessaïh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a numerical study of steady and oscillatory flows with heat transfer submitted to an axial magnetic field is studied. The governing Navier-Stokes, energy, and potential equations along with appropriate boundary conditions are solved by using the finite-volume method. The flow and temperature fields are presented by stream function and isotherms, respectively. The flow between counter-rotating end disks is very unstable and reveals a great richness of structures. The results are presented for various values of the Hartmann number, Ha=5, 10, 20, and 30, and Richardson numbers , Ri=0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4, in order to see their effects on the value of the critical Reynolds number, Recr. Stability diagrams are established according to the numerical results of this investigation. These diagrams put in evidence the dependence of Recr with the increase of Ha for various values of Ri. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=swirling" title="swirling">swirling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=counter-rotating%20end%20disks" title=" counter-rotating end disks"> counter-rotating end disks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetic%20field" title=" magnetic field"> magnetic field</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oscillatory" title=" oscillatory"> oscillatory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cylinder" title=" cylinder"> cylinder</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33523/steady-and-oscillatory-states-of-swirling-flows-under-an-axial-magnetic-field" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33523.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">324</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">182</span> Artificial Neural Networks Controller for Active Power Filter Connected to a Photovoltaic Array </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Dehini">Rachid Dehini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahim%20Berbaoui"> Brahim Berbaoui</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The main objectives of shunt active power filter (SAPF) is to preserve the power system from unwanted harmonic currents produced by nonlinear loads, as well as to compensate the reactive power. This paper focuses on the modeling of micro-oscillators systems which are composed by passive amplifier without moving part. The micro-system modeling is based on geometrical oscillators form. An asymmetric micro-oscillator design that is based on a bistable fluidic amplifier is proposed. The characteristic size of the channels is generally about 35 microns of depth. The numerical results indicate that the production and manipulation of microdrops are possible with passive device within a typical oscillators chamber of 2.25 mm diameter and 0.20 mm length when the Reynolds number is Re = 490. The novel micro drops method that is presented in this study provides a simple solution about the production of microdrops problems in micro system. We undertake an experimental step. The first part is based on the realisation of sample oscillator; the second part is consisted of visualization, production and manipulation of microdrops. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modelling" title="modelling">modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=miscible" title=" miscible"> miscible</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=micro%20drops" title=" micro drops"> micro drops</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=production" title=" production"> production</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oscillator%20sample" title=" oscillator sample"> oscillator sample</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=capillary" title=" capillary"> capillary</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14075/micro-oscillator-passive-production-and-manipulation-of-microdrops" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14075.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">378</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">180</span> Artificial Neural Networks Face to Sudden Load Change for Shunt Active Power Filter</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dehini%20Rachid">Dehini Rachid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ferdi%20Brahim"> Ferdi Brahim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The shunt active power filter (SAPF) is not destined only to improve the power factor, but also to compensate the unwanted harmonic currents produced by nonlinear loads. It is difficult to get satisfied identification and control characteristics by using a normal (ANN) due to the nonlinearity of the system (SAPF + fast nonlinear load variations). This work is an attempt to undertake a systematic study of the problem to equip the (SAPF) with the harmonics identification and DC link voltage control method based on (ANN). The latter has been applied to the (SAPF) with fast nonlinear load variations. The results of computer simulations and experiments are given, which can confirm the feasibility of the proposed active power filter. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20neural%20networks%20%28ANN%29" title="artificial neural networks (ANN)">artificial neural networks (ANN)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=p-q%20theory" title=" p-q theory"> p-q theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=harmonics" title=" harmonics"> harmonics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=total%20harmonic%20distortion" title=" total harmonic distortion"> total harmonic distortion</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16181/artificial-neural-networks-face-to-sudden-load-change-for-shunt-active-power-filter" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16181.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">386</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">179</span> A Technical Solution for Micro Mixture with Micro Fluidic Oscillator in Chemistry</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahim%20Dennai">Brahim Dennai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdelhak%20Bentaleb"> Abdelhak Bentaleb</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Khelfaoui"> Rachid Khelfaoui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Asma%20Abdenbi"> Asma Abdenbi </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The diffusion flux given by the Fick’s law characterizethe mixing rate. A passive mixing strategy is proposed to enhance mixing of two fluids through perturbed jet low. A numerical study of passive mixers has been presented. This paper is focused on the modeling of a micro-injection systems composed of passive amplifier without mechanical part. The micro-system modeling is based on geometrical oscillators form. An asymmetric micro-oscillator design based on a monostable fluidic amplifier is proposed. The characteristic size of the channels is generally about a few hundred of microns. The numerical results indicate that the mixing performance can be as high as 99 % within a typical mixing chamber of 0.20 mm diameter inlet and 2.0 mm distance of nozzle - spliter. In addition, the results confirm that self-rotation in the circular mixer significantly enhances the mixing performance. The novel micro mixing method presented in this study provides a simple solution to mixing problems in microsystem for application in chemistry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=micro%20oscillator" title="micro oscillator">micro oscillator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modeling" title=" modeling"> modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=micro%20mixture" title=" micro mixture"> micro mixture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diffusion" title=" diffusion"> diffusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=size%20effect" title=" size effect"> size effect</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chemical%20equation" title=" chemical equation"> chemical equation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19864/a-technical-solution-for-micro-mixture-with-micro-fluidic-oscillator-in-chemistry" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19864.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">430</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">178</span> CFD modelling of Microdrops Manipulation by Microfluidic Oscillator</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tawfiq%20Chekifi">Tawfiq Chekifi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahim%20Dennai"> Brahim Dennai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Khelfaoui"> Rachid Khelfaoui</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Over the last few decades, modeling immiscible fluids such as oil and water have been a classical research topic. Controlling these versions and tracking their changes became a very hard process as some versions are created using meaningless names or specifications. Many versions of a system are created with no clear difference between them. This leads to mismatching between a user’s request and the version he gets. In this paper, we present a system versions meta-modeling approach that produces versions based on system’s features. This model reduced the number of steps needed to configure a release and gave each version its unique specifications. This approach is applicable for systems that use features in its specification. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=features" title="features">features</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=meta-modeling" title=" meta-modeling"> meta-modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=semantic%20modeling" title=" semantic modeling"> semantic modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SPL" title=" SPL"> SPL</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=VCS" title=" VCS"> VCS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=versioning" title=" versioning"> versioning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7797/systems-versioning-a-features-based-meta-modeling-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7797.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">446</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">175</span> Sliding Mode Control of an Internet Teleoperated PUMA 600 Robot</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdallah%20Ghoul">Abdallah Ghoul</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bachir%20Ouamri"> Bachir Ouamri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ismail%20Khalil%20Bousserhane"> Ismail Khalil Bousserhane</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, we have developed a sliding mode controller for PUMA 600 manipulator robot, to control the remote robot a teleoperation system was developed. This objective can be achieved by taking advantage of the current technological development in computer science and biomechanics. The objective of this paper is to present an approach for the realization of high-precision biocompatible cranial implants using new 3D printing technologies at the lowest cost. Using this procedure, ten patients underwent this procedure with excellent aesthetic results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cranioplasty" title="cranioplasty">cranioplasty</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cranial%20defect" title=" cranial defect"> cranial defect</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PMMA" title=" PMMA"> PMMA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3d%20printing" title=" 3d printing"> 3d printing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=custom%20made%20implants" title=" custom made implants"> custom made implants</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185468/cranioplasty-with-custom-implant-realized-using-3d-printing-technology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185468.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">56</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">173</span> Services-Oriented Model for the Regulation of Learning</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Bendahmane">Mohamed Bendahmane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Brahim%20Elfalaki"> Brahim Elfalaki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammed%20Benattou"> Mohammed Benattou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> One of the major sources of learners&#39; professional difficulties is their heterogeneity. Thus, in this context, we decided to be focused on NK cells and CD14+ monocytes gene expression, considering datasets GSE165461 and GSE198256, respectively. Other datasets with PBMCs, lung, olfactory, and sensory epithelium and lymph were used to provide robust validation for our results. This approach gave an integrated view of the immune responses in COVID-19, pointing out a set of potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets with special regard to standards of physiological conditions. IFI27, MKI67, CENPF, MBP, HBA2, TMEM158, THBD, HBA1, LHFPL2, SLA, and AC104564.3 were identified as key genes from our analysis that have critical biological processes related to inflammation, immune regulation, oxidative stress, and metabolic processes. Consequently, such processes are important in understanding the heterogeneous clinical manifestations of COVID-19—from acute to long-term effects now known as 'long COVID'. Subsequent validation with additional datasets consolidated these genes as robust biomarkers with an important role in the diagnosis of COVID-19 and the prediction of its severity. Moreover, their enrichment in key pathophysiological pathways presented them as potential targets for therapeutic intervention. The results provide insight into the molecular dynamics of COVID-19 caused by cells such as NK cells and other monocytes. This study aimed to investigate the insecticidal potential of six aqueous (100% water), and methanolic (20/80 (v/v) MeOH/H2O) extracts obtained from aromatic and medicinal plants growing in arid and semi-arid regions of Morocco to control nymphs and adult females of D. opuntiae, under laboratory and greenhouse conditions. Under laboratory conditions, the aqueous extracts of Atriplex halimus at 5% caused significant mortality in nymphs with 71% four days after application and 88%on adult females of D. opuntiae8 days post-treatment. Under greenhouse conditions, the aqueous extract of A. halimus combined with black soap at 10 g/L showed the highest mortality rate of nymphs with 100%, 4 days after application. The adult females' mortality increased significantly to reach 83.75%,14 days after the second application of A. halimus aqueous extract at 5%. Phytochemical analysis of the water extract of A. halimus revealed a high content of saponins (24.09 ± 0.71 mg SSE/g DW) compared to other plant extracts, which was confirmed by LC-MS characterization that showed the presence of 36 triterpenoid saponin compounds (derived from oleic-12-en-28-oic acid), in addition to phytoecdysones, simple carboxylic acids, and flavonoids. These findings showed that using the aqueous extract of A. halimus as a biological pesticide could be incorporated into the management package to control the wild cochineal as a safe alternative to chemical insecticides. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dactylopius%20opuntiae" title="dactylopius opuntiae">dactylopius opuntiae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=opuntia%20ficus-indica%20L." title=" opuntia ficus-indica L."> opuntia ficus-indica L.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=plant%20extracts" title=" plant extracts"> plant extracts</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=toxicity" title=" toxicity"> toxicity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=atriplex%20halimus" title=" atriplex halimus"> atriplex halimus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=saponins" title=" saponins"> saponins</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150439/chemical-composition-and-insecticidal-properties-of-moroccan-plant-extracts-against-dactylopius-opuntiae-cockerell-under-laboratory-and-greenhouse-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150439.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">145</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">163</span> Physicochemical Characterizations of Marine and River Sediments in the North of France</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abriak%20Nor%20Edine">Abriak Nor Edine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zentar%20Rachid"> Zentar Rachid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Achour%20Raouf"> Achour Raouf</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tran%20Ngoc%20Thanh"> Tran Ngoc Thanh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This work is undertaken to develop a methodology to enhance the management of dredged marine and river sediments in the North of France. The performance criterion to optimize in this problem which we denote Pm/N-c/summs of (wjCj) is the weighted sum of the end dates of tasks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scheduling" title="scheduling">scheduling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parallel%20identical%20machines" title=" parallel identical machines"> parallel identical machines</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unavailability%20periods" title=" unavailability periods"> unavailability periods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metaheuristic" title=" metaheuristic"> metaheuristic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tabu%20search" title=" tabu search"> tabu search</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/5635/metaheuristics-to-solve-tasks-scheduling" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/5635.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">331</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">159</span> A Solar Heating System Performance on the Microclimate of an Agricultural Greenhouse</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nora%20Arbaoui">Nora Arbaoui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Tadili"> Rachid Tadili</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The experiment adopted a natural technique of heating and cooling an agricultural greenhouse to reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions based on the heating of a transfer fluid that circulates inside the greenhouse through a solar copper coil positioned at the roof of the greenhouse. This experimental study is devoted to the performance evaluation of a solar heating system to improve the microclimate of a greenhouse during the cold period, especially in the Mediterranean climate. This integrated solar system for heating has a positive impact on the quality and quantity of the products under the study greenhouse. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
