<A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>For his disciples had entered the city to buy provisions for themselves. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And the Samaritan woman said to him, &#8220;How is it that you, a Jew, would ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?&#8221; For the Jews do not associate with the Samaritans. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Yeshua answered and said to her, &#8220;If only you knew what the gift of God is, and who this is who says to you, 'Give me to drink', you would have asked for what he has, and he would have given you living waters.&#8221; <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>This woman said to him, &#8220;My Lord, you have no bucket and the well is deep. From where do you have living waters?&#8221; <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>Are you greater than our forefather Jaqob, he who gave us this well, and he drank from it, also his children and his flock? &#8220; <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Yeshua answered and said to her, &#8220;Everyone who shall drink from these waters shall thirst again; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>But everyone who shall drink of the waters that I will give him shall not thirst for eternity, but those waters that I give him shall be springs of waters in him that shall spring up into eternal life.&#8221;<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>This woman said to him, &#8220;My lord, give me from these waters that I shall not thirst again, and so I am not coming to draw from here.&#8221; <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her, &#8220;Go call your husband and come here.&#8221; <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>She said to him, &#8220;I have no husband.&#8221; Yeshua said to her, &#8220;You have said correctly, &#8220;I have no husband. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>For you have had five husbands, and this man that is with you now is not your husband; this you have spoken truly.&#8221; <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>The woman said to him, &#8220;My lord, I perceive that you are a Prophet. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>Our forefathers worshiped in this mountain, and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where it is necessary to worship.&#8221; <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her, &#8220;Woman, believe me that the hour is coming in which neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship The Father. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>You are worshiping what you do not know. We know what we are worshiping, for The Life is of the Jews. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship The Father in The Spirit and in The Truth, for The Father also is seeking such worshippers as these. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>For The Spirit is God, and it is fitting that those who worship him worship in The Spirit and in The Truth.&#8221; <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>The woman said to him, &#8220;I know that The Messiah is coming, and when he comes, he will teach us all things.&#8221; <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her, &#8220;I AM THE LIVING GOD, I who am speaking with you.&#8221;<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And while he was speaking, his disciples came and they were amazed that he was speaking with the woman, but no man said, &#8220;What are you seeking?, or, &#8220;Why are you speaking with her?&#8221; <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And the woman left her cruse and went to the city and said to the men: <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>&#8220;Come see a man who told me everything that I have done. Is he The Messiah?&#8221; <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And the men departed from the city and they came to him.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And in the midst of these things his disciples were begging him and were saying to him, &#8220;Our Master, eat.&#8221; <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>But he said to them, &#8220;I have food to eat of which you do not know.&#8221; <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>The disciples were saying among themselves, &#8220;Did someone bring him something to eat?&#8221; <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>Yeshua said to them, &#8220;My personal food is that I do the will of him who has sent me and finish His work. <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>Do you not say, 'After four months the harvest comes?' Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and behold the fields that are white and are ready to harvest even now. <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And whoever reaps receives wages and he gathers fruit for life eternal and the sower and reaper shall rejoice together. <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>For in this is a word of truth, that 'One sows and another reaps.' <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>I sent you to harvest something in which you were not laboring, for another labored and you have entered upon their labors.&#8221;<p> <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>Many Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the woman's saying which she testified: &#8220;He told me everything that I have done.&#8221; <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And when those Samaritans came to him, they requested of him that he would stay with them, and he was with them for two days. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And many believed in him because of his word. <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>And they were saying to that woman, &#8220;Now it is not because of your word that we believe in him, for we have heard and we know that This One is truly The Messiah, The Lifegiver of the world.&#8221;<p> <A name="44"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And after two days, Yeshua went out from there and left for Galilee. <A name="45"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-44.htm#aramaic"><b>44</b></a></span>For Yeshua had been testifying that a Prophet is not honored in his city. <A name="46"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-45.htm#aramaic"><b>45</b></a></span>But when he came to Galilee, the Galileans received him because they saw all the miracles that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had also gone to the feast.<p> <A name="47"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-46.htm#aramaic"><b>46</b></a></span>But Yeshua came again to Qatna of Galilee, where he had made the water wine, and a servant of a certain King was staying in Kapernahum, whose son was ill. <A name="48"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-47.htm#aramaic"><b>47</b></a></span>This man had heard that Yeshua came from Judea to Galilee and he went to him and was imploring him to come down and heal his son, for he was coming close to dying. <A name="49"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-48.htm#aramaic"><b>48</b></a></span>Yeshua said to him, &#8220;If you will not see signs and wonders, you will not believe.&#8221; <A name="50"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-49.htm#aramaic"><b>49</b></a></span>That servant of The King said to him, &#8220;My lord, come down or else the boy will die.&#8221; <A name="51"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-50.htm#aramaic"><b>50</b></a></span>Yeshua said to him, &#8220;Go; your son is saved.&#8221; And that man believed in the word that Yeshua spoke to him, and he went on. <A name="52"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-51.htm#aramaic"><b>51</b></a></span>But when he was going down, his servants met him and they announced good news to him and were saying to him, &#8220;Your son is saved.&#8221; <A name="53"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/4-52.htm#aramaic"><b>52</b></a></span>And he asked them at what time he was cured; they were saying to him, &#8220;Yesterday, in the seventh hour, the fever left him.&#8221;
